Game 149 & 150 - Win/Loss - Carver vs eSturgis/eMakeda

50 Point Games
Self Timed

Altered Carver List: 2x War Hogs, 2x Road Hogs, Brigands, 2x Slaughterhousers, Saxon Orrick

Double Brigands just haven't performed, swapping one out for another War Hog.

Game 1

Balance of Power

eSturgis - Seether, Slayer, Darragh Wrathe, Skarlock, Gorman, Warwitch Siren, Bile Thralls (Min), Pistol Wraith, Captain Rengrave, Revenant Pirates, Bane Thralls (Max) + UA

Lost the die roll, given first turn. Saxon out of picture on the far left.

Cryx deploy, Pistol Wraith on the far right dictated Saxon's deployment.

Farrow turn 1: Running running running!

Cryx turn 1: Lose a few Slaughterhousers to Pirate shots.

Farrow turn 2: Carver puts Sprint on the right Road Hog. He spends most of the game casting Mobility and/or Batten. Reduced Slaughterhouser unit on the right charges in, takes out some Pirates. Road Hog charges in, Assault kills the Skarlock and a pair of Bile Thralls, then he kicks the charged Pirate to death and Sprints back. Brigands charge up to edge of zone, kill several Bane Thralls. Slaughterhousers move around the zone, Heavies and Saxon toe in.

Should have lined left Slaughterhousers at the edge of the zone, would have meant easier zone clearing.

Cryx turn 2: Right Slaughterhousers reduced to one, right Road Hog Death Chilled by the Pistol Wraith. Sturgis Feats, drawing everything in the zone up, some lucky tough rolls stop things from getting to nasty. Tarty threshers, Tough again does decently. Most of the Brigands end up dead. Slayer charges up to one War Hog, doesn't achieve much.

Farrow turn 3: Right Road Hog moves into the Bile Thralls, engaging all but one. Carver moves into the zone and Feats, Slaughter Housers/Brigands/Saxon clear infantry out of the zone. War Hogs kill the Cryx Heavies, Road Hog charges up and kills some more stuff.

Farrow get to 2 CP's (Dominate Zone)

Cryx/Farrow turn 4: Carver takes some light damage and gets Death chilled, one War Hog dies. Stuff cleared out of zone, War Hog kills the Objective, Farrow go to 5 CP's.

Player Grading
Time Management: 10, no issues.
Scenario Awareness: 8, played to the conditions, gave up on the flag at the appropiate time.
Spacing and Placement: 6, match ups went reasonably but advantages were not gained by particular plans I made.
Target Priority: 8, Brigand jamming quite succesful, suitable distractions put on the right side.
Effectiveness: 8, took minimal risk on dice math.
Cool: 10, no issues.
Grade: B (40)

Game 2 - Southies Revenge

Adam does a pun in deployment. It hurts.

eMakeda - Krea, Molik Kahn, Bronzeback, Gladiator, Aptimus Marketh, Nihilators, Beast Handlers, Ancestral Guardian, Tyrant Commander and Standard

Southie wins the roll, picks first.

Farrow Deployment. Important note: That wall-esque thing in front of the zone is an obstruction.

Skorne turn 1: RUN RABBIT RUN! Leash goes on Molik Karn.

Farrow turn 1: Glorious charge!

Skorne turn 2: Brigands die to Nihilators, several tough out against Molik Karn before he Fate Walkers back.

Farrow turn 2: Carver Feats. Brigands/Slaughterhousers move/charge in, removing a stack of Nihilators, hurting the Krea a fair bit and putting the objective on 1 hit point (One or two Nihilators die to keep the Objective on 1 hit point). Right Road Hog charges a Slaughterhouser, kills him, tough out a Nihilator and puts the Ancestral Guardian on two hit points. Right Road Hog charges the Objective, Southie lets it go. Left Road Hog moves up, sprays at the Krea, misses it and kills a Beast Handler. One Nihilator that passed his tough check stops me from controlling the zone.

Note: Should have toed Carver into the zone on the right side to threaten Domination, should have moved Brigands out of the way to take Free Strikes to get the War Hog into the Bronzeback. Forgot to activate Saxon, though he wouldn't have done much this turn.

Skorne turn 3: Fire does nothing. Makeda feats, everything gets its rumble on. Bronzeback kills the Raod Hog and Beats Back to my edge of the zone. Molik clears out my left most infantry. Tyrant charges in on the right for not very much.

Farrow turn 3: Carver puts up Mobility/Batten as always, hits Bronzeback for a bit. Back War Hog kills the Bronzeback. Right War Hog charges Molik, hits him up but fails to kill. Road Hog (Green Proxy Base) charges Molik, fails to do much. Saxon runs around.

Skorne turn 4: Molik/Gladiator kill the Road Hog, heavily injure the War Hog in the zone. Banner Bearer blocks up the remaining Slaughterhousers.

Farrow turn 4: Molik/Gladiator killed by the War Hogs, Saxon misses the Standard. Slaughterhousers kill Standard and the last Nihilator.

Skorne turn 5: Makeda eats a War Hog, other (allready heavily damaged) is plinked for a few more points.

Farrow turn 5/Skorne turn 6: Carver uses Mobility, walks up to Makeda, hits for medicore damaged, second boosted attack misses. Saxon clears a blocking Beast Handler, last Slaughterhouser charges Makeda in the back, snakes needing a five. Did the damage roll, would have obscenely overkilled. War Hog kills Krea.

Makeda then cuts for Fury, buthcers Carver.

Should have had Carver finish the heavily damaged Krea, heal the War Hog for as much as possible, then had War Hog charge Makeda for a safer assassination possibility.

Effectiveness: 7, good except for last turn attempted assassination.
