Game 326 - Rask vs eThagrosh

I needed a break from the Mercs (When you contemplate using a Basher to slam Gorten as a primary plan, you've tripped into the abyss, which not only looks back at you, but licks you, shudders and tries to flow away), so Minions came forth for some lols.

I hammered out three games on Monday picks ups, so something must have been working out.

Rask - Wrastler, Horror, Snapper, 3x Posse, Totem Hunter, Bokor + Shamblers

Good old 2014 Gators, none of this fancy giant unsteady rocks on wheels or Merlocks throwing Fire Bombs on things.

Russelsoar comes in off the streets with some Thuglife:

eThagrosh - 2x Scythean, 2x Raeks, Seraph, 2x Protectors, 2x Feralgeists, Shepherd, 2x Forsaken

Close Quarters, so relatively dead scenario wise.

Minions Deploy - I win the roll, pick first. In hindsight that was probably wrong with the horribly linear on the table, but oh well.

Legion Deploy - Proxy Legion:
* Ogrun are Protectors
* Combine are Feralgeists
* Beast on the far right is the second Raek

Minion 1 - Rask Admonitions himself, Furies the Purple Posse, everything moves up. Halfway through I realise I forgot the Totem Hunters Prey, oh well.

Legion 1 - The world runs up, Tenacity goes out on loads of beasts, one of the Protectors gets Dragon's Blood and the left Ravagore receives Unnatural Aggression.

Minion 2 - Both spells upkept.
Totem Hunter walks forward, leaps behind the Raek and stabs the Shepherd to death.
Left Posse (Grey) pray Cold Blooded, two charge the Raek while the rest hang back on the hill. The charges do reasonable damage to the Raek, taking out its Mind.
Purple Furied Posse hang back.
Bone Posse (On the right) Dirge and spread out he front of the army.
Rask, Beasts and Shamblers all hang back in the centre, pops feat.

The game plan here was based on a complete fail on my part. For the longest time I'd assumed the Scythean Animus stopped healing, when Ed pointed out halfway through Russcans next turn it only stops tough.
I'd been playing on the assumption if a Scythean gets to Rask it's all over.
This also means that MacBain! is not the terribad Legion matchup I've been assuming.
Minion games, good for a few things it turns out.

Legion 2 - Dragon Blood/Unnatural Aggression upkept.
Everything goes forward, the sacrificial Posse all die (Four in total) then backup with the feat.
One of the Protectors ended up going to the left to do with the hard up Posse, though one survived (MAT 5 is awful...).

Minion 3 - Welp, this was going bad. Had I realized Takedown wasn't going to have Rask axed then my backup line could have been way further up, so Russ can't backup and needs to push it hard or get slowly grinded out on scenario.
My misplay wasn't the end though, Russ had got distracted a few times so had 15 minutes to go versus my 35, so jam out for clock it is.
Admonition upkept.
The Grey Posse on the left kill the Raek on that side, the pair of Bone Posse on the right charge up and do not terrible damage to a Scythean and the other Raek.
Purple Posse spread out with a pair of them upfront.
Rask, Beasts and Bokor all hang back.

Legion 3 - Dragon Blood/Unnatural Aggression upkept.
One Scythean goes to the left, it kills two more of the Grey Posse (The Protector on this flank rolls laughably bad).
Seraph/Scythean/Protector/Thagrosh kill the front two jamming Posse.
One Forsaken charges a Purple Posse member, burns 4 Fury to kill it.
The Raek gets up into the Swamp Horrors grill.

Minion 4 - Admonition upkept.
Purple/Grey Posse all charge up, they do decent damage to the left Scythean (One with Unnatural Aggression), kill the Forsaken that charged up and ding the right Scythean.
Swamp Horror moves over and tries to drag the Raek with its tentacles. I boost the opening three initials to hit and miss each time. I buy an attack to max Fury, finally roll the 9 and drag it out of the Wrastlers way.
Snapper charges and kills said Raek.
Wrastler gets Boundless charge, Elasticity and Fury, goes into the right Scythean and kills it comfortably.
Shamblers block Rask up from dying.

Legion 4 - Spells upkept, Russ kills another four Posse and the Wrastler who gets possessed by the Feralgeist, then clocks out with a few pieces remaining to activate.

Me on the right.
Legion takes it away if the clock isn't a factor, but I think the next time if I play it properly its a relatively even matchup with fragile trading amounts, I need to pop the Scytheans without losing too many Posse...
