Games 131 &132 - Midas vs Terminus (Loss), vs eGoreshade (Win)

Game Results: One win, one loss
80 - 51 - 1

Timed turns, both using Supply and Demand (Neutral zone, aligned objectives, objectives stop Domination)

25 Points
Midas - 2x War Hog (One deceased), Road Hog, 2x Rabo, Slaughterhousers, Bone Grinders (Max)
Terminus - Seether, Tartarus, Mechanithralls, some more small based models?

Farrow Deployment: I won the die roll, Road Hog got advance moved.

Cryx deployment: Terminus on the left, Seether in the middle, Tartarus between the Seether and the Thralls.

Farrow turn 1: Everything runs up after the Road Hog advance moves.

Cryx turn 1: Terminus puts up Malediction, everything charges.

Farrow turn 2: Road Hog charges Tartarus, Assault kills a Thrall and sets another on fire. Road Hog maxes out to leave Tartarus knocked down from tough. RaBo charges Tartarus, finishes him off. Other Rabo runs in to engage the Seether.

Cryx turn 2: Terminus charges Objective, does a little damage. Seether kills the Rabo in front of it. Thralls charge in, hurt but don't kill the Road Hog and other RaBo. War Hog moves in.

This turn didn't go the way I thought. I figured the Thralls would remove the RaBo's and the Seether would move in to kill the Rabo, then I could respond by War Hoging the Seether and potentially feating the Road Hog in to kill the Thralls and move the Slaughterhousers to countercharge Terminus going into the zone.

Farrow turn 3: Midas Curses Terminus, misses with a Hex Blast, hits with a Calamity, charges a Mechanithrall, kills it, feats back the Tiered War Hog. War Hog does very little to Terminus. Bone Gridners try to Arcane Bolt Terminus, hit but do little damage. Road Hog, Rabo and Slaughterhousers remove all but two of the Thralls.

I had two courses of action, I picked the wrong one. I could have either gone for the assassination or scenario, should have gone for the attrition angle. Save the feat, Midas curses the Mechanithralls, keeps his current Bone tokens, Hex Blasts the Mechanithralls twice to remove a bunch of them then moves to the right, charging something if further distance is needed. Bone Grinders would run the hell away from Terminus, War Hog would move to threaten the Seether or Terminus if he moved in to the zone.

Cryx turn 3: Terminus charges Midas, floors him with two hits.

Player Grading
Time Management: 10, zero issues with seven minute turns for this many models. Fewer Beasts on the Feat turn especially.
Scenario Awareness: 7, had things placed to go for a scenario win but elected to not take the final step.
Spacing & Placement: 8, definitely got had the right match ups to the terrain and scenario.
Target Priority: 5, right match ups up to deal with Tartarus and the Banes, insufficient for the assassination attempt.
Effectiveness: 3, ultimately the most important move of the game was made on poor math.
Cool: 10, perfectly calm without issue even during particularly poor decisions.
Grade: High B (43), a big part of the higher grade I feel is do to playing a smaller size than I am now trying to practice.

50 Points
Midas - 2x War Hogs (One deceased), 2x Road Hogs, Targ, 2x Slaughterhousers, 3x Bone Grinders (One max, two min)
eGoreshade - Kraken, Bane Thralls + UA, Bane Knights, Tartarus, Skarlock, Mechanithralls, Darragh Wrathe, Warwitch Siren

Farrow Deploy after losing the roll

Cryx deployment. Darragh, Goreshade and the Warwitch are behind the Kraken.

Farrow turn one: Heavies all advance move, Road Hogs run up and everything moves up. War Hog walks.
Cryx turn one: Everything moves up, Kraken hits the Road Hog in the middle of the table for some damage with the Unicorn cannon, short on range with the secondary weapons.

Farrow turn two: No Pic, things move around, one of the Road Hogs moves out to the right, one of the RaBo's runs up behind the opposing objective. Midas moves into the zone behind the Linear, fell short of Calamity on the Kraken range.

Cryx turn two: Stuff runs in, Kraken gets upkeep to ignore cover, Unicorn cannon hits Midas who flicks it to a Rabo. Thralls run in like jamming nutters.

Farrow turn three: Right Road Hog charges, Assault hits and kill charge target invalidating Massacre, but also gets the Officer and the Warwitch Siren. Objective takes five points of damage. Both Slaughterhouser units enter the mosh pit, remove three or four Banes from each unit. Left Road Hog charges, hits Tartarus, setting him on fire and doing five point. War Hog walks forward, Grinders run around.

Cryx turn three: Fire does nothing. Tartarus curses/charges, threshers three Slaughterhousers to bring horde of Banes back. Knights then charge Midas, three get in with charge attacks, one without the bonus. Two miss, other two get thrown around. Thralls get a Slaughterhouser or two and bring some Thralls back. Goreshade feats, surrounding Midas with Knights.

Farrow turn four: The right Rabo and Road Hog frenzy, each kill one Bane Thrall. The Road Hog charges Darragh, Assault misses Darragh and Goreshade. Charge attack does five damage to Darragh. Attacks are bought to kill Tartarus. Midas cashes in a bone token, curses the Knights, kills three of them, camps four. The Right Slaughterhousers kill several Thralls, one of them removing the Thrall engaging the Road Hog, though two of them miss the Thrall Officer. The War Hog, Bone Grinder units and last surviving member of the left Slaughter Housers leave one Bane Knight alive in front of the Kraken. An Arcane Bolt from a unit of Grinders hits but fails to kill him. Targ charges him and kills him.

Cryx turn four:Darragh moves around to do one of his abilities, a Thrall engages Midas to give him an armour debuff. Kraken shoots at Midas, he flicks damage to the Road Hog. Thralls kill the right Road Hog and several of the Slaughterhousers. Goreshade charges the remining Road Hog, spends the rest of his stack to kill it.

Farrow turn five: Midas Calamities Goreshade, War Hog gets Massacred by Grinders, forces for strength, charges Goreshade, crit knockdowns off the boosted Gore and then kills him.

Gotcha! Moment: Opponent got rid of Curse of Shadows in his turn by recasting it. The casting failed to hit, but still gets rid of the in play upkeep on the attempt, not the success of that attempt.
Did not pass a single tough roll, as is the way.
Got a critical Gore attack at the perfect moment for a second time.

Player Grading
Time Management: 7, clocked out early turns three and four, the first instance would not have been an issue, the second I would have blown my extension. While it was fine this game, I never popped my feat, which could cause issues.
Scenario Awareness: 7, committed into the zone which made the Kraken move up, but didn't ever get a good threatening position from it.
Spacing and Placement: 5, no unexpected losses but no superior placements either, happy with the Road Hogs but forced to spend the Slaughterhousers.
Target Priority: 6, recognised prime targets of Tartarus, War Witch, Darragh and Thrall UA's, but only able to apply sufficient pressure to some of them, particlarly to get rid of the recursioning Thrall officer.
Effectiveness: 7, calculated risks but not perfect ones.
Cool: 7, didn't lose cool but felt pressured in the middle portion of the game.
Grade: Low B (39)
