I was running my normal Gorten and Bart double Galleon. Bart was really just there to weird people out for matchups, 90% of my potential games were going to be Gorten, with a couple teams being a likely potential for a Bart drop.
Then on the day they scrubbed the play each lsit requirement, so Gorten for daaaayyyssss!
Matchups I was set for was the anti-Legion game and dodge the hell out of Cryx. I have a personal aversion to Circle, Bart was the drop but Bromac feels awful.
Game 1, we got the combined Western Australia/Singapore team (Woo! Internationals! Plus Singaporeans!).
Scenario is Close Quarters, I went into Butcher 3.
Caster wise it's a fairly even matchup, played correctly Gorten has a one inch advantage. Not a great scenario to rush, so the slow attrition play it is.
Butcher has all the character jacks (Ruin/Torch/Beast 09), Kayazy assassins and a load of solos.

Khador Deploy: The shitty pics begin! I think I won the die roll and gave Khador 1st. eAlexia on the left, then Jacks, Kayazy on the right and the Drakhun even further to the Fascist side of deployment politics.

Merc 1: I measure carefully off the objective, establish where I want Gorten, then mentally slap myself every time I think about running up and triggering the traitor Madelyn.
Smurfs run up to the right, brace for the Drakhun to punch them. My Madelyn goes to that side, if the Cav solo punches my schlubs at least I get the Intrigue move.
Gorten, Gorman, Alexia and a bunch of Communists run in front of Gorten, who plonks down a wall in front of the Earthbreaker.
Gun Mages shoot down a few Kayazy.

Khador 2: On the left, Eiryss runs to my flag and Arcane bombs the Earthbreaker.
Alexia2 rides up, tries to Hellfire the Communists, balanced tough mechanic stops it.
Torch ends up way up front, Beast and Ruin get up to the Khador flag, Butcher goes diagonally away from Gorten.
Drakhun charges the smurfs, kills one then tough stops him carrying on.
The Kayazy go into the smurfs, kill a couple.

Merc 2: Attrition plan is go! Earthbreaker has to whittle down the heavies, feat delay to buy an extra turn.
Eiryss stops allocation, otherwise, Thorbreaker charges Torch and flattens him without issue.
Instead, Thorbreaker will have to shoot.
First off the Communists get out of the way, kill Eiryss and do five boxes to Alexia.
Thorbreaker then goes, knocks down Ruin/Beast, takes out about half of Ruin.
Smurfs flail at Kayazy and kill the Drakhun courtesy of the Hawk bonus.
Gorman Blinds Beast.
Gorten gets up the board, feats, misses two assassins with it, pushes everything else back.
Gun Mages then maul the Kayazy.
Hawk runs to the Khador flag.
Mercs go to 1 CP.

Khador 3: Assassination attempt happens.
Torch gets focus, clears out two Press Gangers to give souls to Alexia.
Alexia moves up, puts down three Thralls.
One Thrall gets in, does sod all.
Butcher Energises to just get out of the Killbox.
Kayazy fail to get to Alexia.

Things move around, Gun Mages push Beast just because.
Gorten runs away.
Thorbreaker knocks down Butcher, easily dirts him.

An unfortunate mistake, though I didn't hate my position. Gorten walks back, has the wall defence going. Pathfinder Communists under Hawk kill Alexia, Earthbreaker kills Ruin, Gorman with Rust and Alexia kill Beast. Hawk scores, Gorten ends up passively scoring while Butcher dies tot eh Earthbreaker at some point.
Team went up 5-0, good beginning.
