Game 370 - Dr Arkadius vs eXerxis

Well, that was a sad enough display that I popped out the list I currently enjoy the most.

Dr Arkadius (Nature of the Beast Tier 4) - 2x Road Hog, 2x War Hog, 2x Gorax, 2x Gun Boar, Targ, 6x RaBo's, Bone Grinders (Max)
Objective: Arcane Wonder

Outflank against Adamski, asked for my best anti-skorne list for some reason. Probably is the Ark anyway.

eXerxis - Hydra, Archidon (Bonded), Gladiator, Shaman, Raider, 2x Will Breaker, Bone Grinders (Min), Pain Givers, Agoniser

Pig Deploy: I won the roll and picked first, I got the side with a forest in front of the deployment, being the most consequential piece of terrain on the board. Caused a wider, more split deploy than normal, but workable.

Skorne Deploy: Some Persian Vampires.
Proxies:
White Huge Base = Hydra
Swamp Shamblers = Bone Grinders
eHexeris = Willbreaker

Pig 1: Everything runs up, Razor Boars lead up with Road Hogs behind. The War Hogs go up the right. One Road Hog hurt himself to run through the forest and gets Forced Evolution.

Skorne 1: The Shaman/Raider move up on the right and kill a Razor Boar. The Hydra uses its Animus, everything moves up, Xerxis goes behind the wall.

The Agoniser gets a couple Fury, but forgets to do a scream.

Pig 2: The wall means I can't go for a lazy Assassination straight up, so it's alpha Heavies time. The plan is to throw the RaBo's forward to annoy and exchange the Road Hogs for the Hydra, after that I should trade out as my lights can be buffed enough to kill Heavies.
Spells upkept. Razor Boars run into positions. The Gorax' Primal both Road Hogs. Arkadius feats, the Road Hogs, War Hogs and the left Gun Boar move forward. One RaBo dies to the buffed Road Hog charge, the two on the right go into the Raider and tear off a big chunk, the two on the left go into the Hydra and do not terribly.
Arkadius then charges a Bone Grinder in the forest to gets his control area up near the Hydra.
The Forced Evo Road Hog charges in and kills the Hydra. The other Road hog rolls his eyes at the show off, moves up and promptly misses the Agoniser. Xerxis is set on fire and takes a couple points of damage.
The War Hogs and Gun Boars move around a little bit.

Skorne 2: Xerxis feats, does the Sprint Animus for free, goes into the nearest Road Hog. Kills him with three Fury to Spare, moves across  to the right edge of the zone. Gladiator charges into the left Road Hog, needs to buy an attack but easily squishes el Piggo. The Archidon moves a tiny bit forward and kills the nearest RaBo. Unfortunately he doesn't cast Sprint before murdering the little Piggy with a bought attack, so can't Sprint to contest the left zone.
The Shaman goes into the War Hog in the right zone, takes out about half his health but not any aspects/.

Piggies go to 1 CP.

Pig 3: Arkadius hasn't got the speed to man mode through the forest, dominating the left zone isn't a likely scenario. Plan is to keep the attrition going, debuff the Gladiator, kill the Shaman and put a War Hog into Xerxis to make him transfer and mess his Fury management up.

The left Gun Boar moves up, does a shot into the Bone Grinders, hitting and killing two and the nearby Will Breaker. The Gridners fail their command check, so now they can't use the Shaman's Animus to strip off Crippling Grasp.

My own Bone Grinders boost my spell range, Arkadius walks up to just be within 10" of the Gladiator and lands the Crippling Grasp. He then casts Forced Evo on the Centre War Hog and Maltreats the left Gun Boar. The right Gun Boar moves into the that sides zone, boosts the rolls to perfectly kill the Agonizer. It's like they know they are screwed when the Splatter Boar comes out, if it does.

The Rabos in the middle engage the Gladiator to be annoying. The Forced Evo Hog goes into the Shaman, misses a few times but buys attacks until it pasts. The right Gorax advances and Primals the other War hog, who charges Xerxis. The first attack gets transferred to the Raider, which dies and wraps around a couple points. The War Hog then buys another couple attacks in the course of murdering him.

Me on the right.

Well, that went well. NotB has no fear of Skorne beast heavy lists, even a shoddy tarpit unit can cause issues for the Arks feat. I genuinely hadn't expected Xerxis to fold that hard, but really I think the worst part is the Hydra is way to soft to handle the Piggy Alpha.

God I play this so much better than Haley.
