Game 295 - Gorten vs Xerxis

No slam, so I tottered along to the Monday practice nights.

Hoops, he who was not dedicated to the angry elves, rocks along with his Persian vampire samurai.

Xerxis - Tibbers, Shaman, Krea, Cataphract (Max), 2x Posse, Tyrant Commander and Standard, 2x Taskmaster, Paingiver chumpettes
Objective: Arcane Wonder

Merc Deploy: Standard loadout. Pendrake is on extreme flank duty, because Beast Lore probably won't be needed. Not really the right call as crit fishing with the Gun Mages is a thing, but oh well.

Skorne Deploy: Not Fists aye...weird...

Merc 1: The Horde spread out, Solid Ground, Strength of Granite out.

Skorne 1: Cataphract get Defenders Ward, the Posse all Dirge, Xerxis puts up Inhospitable Ground and feats.

Merc 2: Gorten Intrigues up. Spells upkept. Hawk runs up, Red Pressgangers charge the left Posse and one shot three of them. Gorman Blinds most of the Cataphracts. Blue Pressgangers jam in on the Cataphracts.right Posse. Gun Mages run to the left zone and spread out, Gorten charges into the offensive zone (It randomly spews out mum jokes when no one is looking at it). Earthbreaker runs up to barely toe the friendly zone (Gives random compliments, mainly eyebrow based. It's a bit weird.).

Skorne 2: Defenders Ward sticks around.Hoops realises that the Tycom isn't in the list and they disappear like they never were. The remaining left Posse, Krea, Taskmaster and even the Paingivers try to get rid of the blocking Red Pressgangers. They fail, because sometimes tough dice are on fire. Cataphracts are to blind to hit the Blue Pressganges. Right Posse do actually kill things and spread out a bit. Tibbers waffles around a bit. Xerxis casts Inhospitable again.

Mercs go to 2 CP.

Merc 3: Intrigue moves Anastasia a bit. Spells upkept and Earthreaker fully loaded. Colossal knocks down the Cataphracts and Xerxis, then knocks down the Shaman and two of the right Posse, nipple shots ding up Xerxis, absorb the shield guard and strip the transfer. Alexia shoots Xerxis, Gorman blinds the Cataphracts. Anastasia uses Esponiage, Earthbreaker shoots Xerxis one more time, he is now on two health. Gorman hits him with a Corrosion bomb but doesn't hurt him, Alexia shoots Xerxis again and puts him down.

In a tourney all those attacks would go on the Objective and I'd take the scenario win. On a high after the Penrith tourney, even with the mistakes I made there I think I've finally noticed some improvement in my play.
