Sadly couldn't make it to the Newcastle SS qualifier, but got in a couple pick up games on Sunday. Not an official Slam!, but I'm going to count it as one anyway because screw it, I got two timed games in.
Fiona - Silly Wishnailer, Galleon, Dougal, Gorman, Rhupert, eEiryss, pAlexia + Risen, Kayazy Assassins (Max) + Underboss, 2x Eliminators
Objective: Effigy of Valor.
Just realized as I was typing that an Effigy of Valor for Mercs should be a pile of gold, will have to get onto that.
The Halberdiers fill two gaps, that of a combat unit to follow/match the Kayazy and of me being headache free at deployment time.
Game 1
Incoming against Jacobstan, last Fiona run for a month or two I expect.
Hunters Grim - Blitzer, Slag Troll, Scattergunners + UA, Dygmies, Highwaymen, Braylen, Stone + UA, Moses
Objective: Effigy of Valor
First time I've versed Hunters Grim, my initial reading of the card had me more than a little worried, as I didn't account for the fact that Troll gun range in general is short and more specifically this list had a bunch of sprays, so my Feat wasn't nullified like I expected by being bombarded out of Fiona's control range.
Merc Deploy: I won the die roll, picked first. When I'm not sure I prefer dropping my feat top of 2 over bottom of 1, usually means I'm in some better spots. The Blonde Eliminators are the Grunts in their respective units.
Troll Deploy: The medium base with a small based model on it on the far left is Braylen, the Kriel Warriors next to her are actually Highwaymen, The Heavy Warbeast in the centre is the Blitzer.
Merc 1: Everything runs up, Eiryss extreme left, Nonokian on Galleon, Roth on Assassins and Telgesh on one of the right Eliminators. Fearless and Tough gets piped on the Steelies.
Troll 1: Everything moves up, Dygmies dig on the right side. Mirage goes on the Scattergunners, Moses puts Tales of Mist on the Highwayman.
Merc 2: All spells upkept, Galleon gets fully loaded. MacNaile puts Artillerist on the Galleon, mini-feats. Piper puts Dirge on the Steelies. Steelies run forward in various positions. Galleon walks forward, shoots down three from the Stone unit. Left Eliminators go, one runs to engage the Witch Doc, the other kills a Highwayman and sidesteps into the Witch Doc, does no damage with the second attack. Right Eliminators run into a Scattergunner. The Assassins spread out. Fiona moves up, feats, camps two. Gorman walks up and clouds Fiona. Silly Wishnailer runs behind the Galleon. Alexia runs up.
Troll 2: Mirage moves the Scattergunners around a bit. Dygmies reappear. Mirage upkept. Highwayman gun down a pair of Steelies, Braymen moves up to Eiryss, misses her first shot, next shot puts her on two health. Slag boosts attacks on an Eliminator, misses horribly. Moses Mists on the Highwayman. Scattergunners can't hit anything with the feat. Stone unit spreads out. Grims minion puts down a trap on the right Eliminators and the most forward assassin.
Merc 3: All spells upkept, two focus to Galleon. Dougal moves to the friendly objective, puts Artillerist on the Galleon. Steelheads move up, cut down some Dygmies and one of the Highwayman near the enemy objective. Left Eliminators kill the Highwayman next to him and Moses. Gorman moves up, Blinds the Scattergunner UA after bouncing back, having fallen short of the Blitzer. Alexia runs up, Risen swarm behind her. Galleon moves up, finishes off the Stone unit. Right Eliminators charge the Blitzer, they don't do much. Piper moves up, puts Dirge on the Steelies, causes the Dygmies to fail a command check. Assassins pile into the Dygmies, kill half the unit. Fiona falls back.
Troll 3: Scattergunners apparate. Mirage upkept. Braylen finally kills Eiryss, walks back toward the Highwayman. Highwayman shoot the Galleon, don't do much. Grim boosts Mortality at the Kayazy, hits. Slag Troll moves behind the Eliminators, a free strike does ten damage, then he kills them. Dygmies rally. Scattergunners spray dead all but one of the Steelies and most of the Kayazy, both units flee. Blitzer kills the right Eliminators. Witch Doc runs into my zone.
Trolls go to 1 CP.
Merc 4: Risen horde spawns. Nonokian upkept, Galleon gets fully loaded. Galleon charges Grim, misses first boosted attack, hits with second, damage moved to the Slag. Risen and Alexia kill the Witch Doc, some of the Dygmies and a Scattergunner. Last Steelie moves back a bit, Effigy rallies him. Piper puts Fearless and tough on the Assassins, who stab ineffectually. Dougal moves up, kills a Highwayman and knocks down another one. Fiona walks up to the Linear to tempt assassination. Silly runs to the edge of the friendly zone, because mistakes need to be made.
Troll 4: Grim puts Mortality on the Risen. Scattergunners kill Alexia. Slag troll dies to a freestrike from the Galleon. Blitzler move up, rolls one shot, misses Fiona. Highwayman ping the Galleon for a little bit more and miss Dougal.
Merc 5: Galleon gets three focus. Galleon fires all shots at the Objective, eventually kills it with the Harpoon melee attack. Boosted attacks on Grim miss. Dougal aims, kills Braylen and a Highwayman in the zone. Fiona charges a Highwayman in the enemy zone, buys a couple attacks to kill the last Highwaymen in the zone. Risen kill some Dygmies. Silly charges a Scattergunner, misses, engages a bunch of stuff.
Mercs go to 2 CP.
Troll 5: Grim moves up, hits Fiona with a boosted Mortality. Blitzer moves up, does five points to Fiona. Scattergunners get screwed by Sylyss, kill a few Risen and the last Kayazy.
Merc 6: Two focus to Galleon. Galleon misses a headbut on Grim. Fiona charges Grim, kills him.

Game 2, still Incoming because....yeah.

Objective: Bunker (Impervious/Girded).
Merc deploy: I won the die roll, ed shuffled me over to the other side for strategic linear obstacleness. I placed stuff prepared to hide it behind the Galleon from Sorschas evil feat.
Khador deploy: Armless Jack is Sorschas Destroyer.
Merc 1: Everything runs up, Roth on Steelies, Telgesh on the right Eliminators, Nonokian on the Galleon.
Khador 1: All the important solos (Gorman, pEiryss, Silly, Malakov) swarm around the Girded objective. Sorscha pops Fog of War and Wind Rush then hides behind the Destroyer.
Merc 2: Telgesh and Nonokian upkept. Galleon gets three focus. Dougal puts artillerist on the Galleon. Gorman moves up, puts out a cloud. Steelies get dirged by Piper. Steelies run up and engage Gorman, Widowmakers and Behemoth. Kayazy run around. Alexia and the Risen run around a bit.Galleon shoots the Destroyer, boosted blast damage puts Sorscha on one box. Telgeshed Eliminator runs to get Line of Sight. Silly puts out Arcane Secrets. Fiona charges a Risen, kill it, arcs a Soulfire at Sorscha, boosts to hit and kills her.
My opening plan for the turn was to use Nonokian to shoot Malakov and use Sucker! to kill Sylyss, Gorman and Eiryss, then kill off the remainder with arced soulfires. Really Ed needed Malakov held way back to stop those shenanigans, I was quite worried about the stationary feat and probably screwed up the Assassins a bit, had Sorscha lived I was definitely going to have to live with my screw up on LoS blocking (See the Risen optimistically standing between the Galleon and Objective).
