Self Reference: Scoring Methodology

For games 1 to 100, scoring was a gut feeling on how well the game was played. As that isn't a particualrly helpful reference given hindsight, learning experiences and evolution of play, a new system was instituted as of game 101.

Base point starts at 10.

Rule Mistakes: -1
Fairly simple, a minus for a rule infraction, such as applying a power attack incorrectly or getting spell/feat effects wrong.

List Calculation Error: -0.5 to -2
A list should either be exactly or one point out of the allocated amount.

Screwing yourself and having to few is a minor fault, having too many is a major. One makes your life harder, the other affects your opponent which is a worse thing to do.

Tactical: -1

Making a suboptimal choice in game with a unit/model, such as improper positioning or wrong target selection.

Strategy: -1

Broader than tactical errors, this is the overall game plan. Most casters/locks have their own preffered strategy of play, the key to avoiding this penalty is changing to suit opponent capabilities and changing game situation. It is no good keeping the original plan if it is not going to work.

The noticeable difference between the two is that there have been games I haven't thought I've done particularly well at, but in analysis crop up all right, and the inverse wherein I have a lower than expected score for what I thought was tight play. Re-examine point system after game 150.
