Game 81 - Bart1 vs Haley3

Post-MOAB, time to run some nonsense trying to work out what I'm doing at the next Kapital Kup where I can luxuriate in nonsense lists, equivalent of throwing mud at the wall.

Our first contender is shamelessly stolen from CareyBear on the PP forums.

Kingmaker Theme
Bart1 - Galleon x2, Rangers, Steelhead Halberdiers, Dirty Meg, Orin
Objective: Stockpile (ONE DAY IT'S GOING TO WORK SUPER GOOD AND THEN YOU'LL SEE)

Like...there's not really much that needs to be spelled out here right? Halberdiers jam, Galleon's pew pew. I expect it'll be average overall with Rangers having shining moments.

Aleon pops down the peeps in blue.

Haley3 - Gallant, Thorn, Ironclad, Squire, Sword Knights w/UA + Cyclone, Trenchers (Min?) w/UA, Piper
Objective: Fuel Cache

I think this favours me a fair bit. The clouds are an inconvenience to me, while the Swannies have sod all that can avoid my knockdown or drag. Going in my thinking is that I'll explode most of the opposition and Haley will have to sweep in and go for an assassination.

Scenario is Entrenched, couple hills and a central forest, more to the point one side has a central trench and a wall leaving a contesting corner for a piece to hide behind.

Round 1: I won the roll and picked first, getting up the board is good for me. I suspect going second with list might be maddening.
The Time Wizzz-rd picked the side with that nice wall.
The Galleon go up the middle, set to contest both zones. Halberdiers just die early on, so rather than try for an early jam I get nothing out of I kept them back and ran to threaten my zone. Rangers go up left into the central forest.
Cygnar is heavily deployed across from their offensive zone, the Trenchers move up and cloud, then Tac Supremacy back. Thorn goes out far right, Haleys hang back and put up their defence buff, the Ironclad goes out left and to a contesting spot behind the wall on the Swan zone. Behind that Ironclad goes Gallant, Harlen Versh is base to base behind Gallant.

Merc 2: The only opposing Steady stuff is the base to base Sword Knights, so I just have to keep out of serious gun and spell range, of which none are longer than 12, and I can feat anywhere. Plan then is to do that and start my Attrition swing by blowing up Harlen Versh and damaging the Ironclad.
The Rangers pan out left and spread, one in range of the relevant Jacks, being the models not behind the cloud wall.
Left Galleon moves up, shoots at Gallant, takes two shots to kill Versh. The remainder of the shots I boost to try to get the Ironclad, I don't land any hits.
Bart cycles Hot Shot, feats, moves up. There'll be some Trencher shots, but I'm confident I'll be fine. We'll get to that.
Right Galleon moves up, also tries to shoot the Ironclad, has a tiny bit more success but wasn't what I expected (The possibility of an arm seemed reasonable).
Orin moves up and Stealths, Dirty Meg goes into the trench in walk and repair range of the Colossals.
The Halberdiers shuffle around.

Cygnar 2: So...I thought the Cyclone was range 10. It's 12. Bart trembles in fear.
The Trenchers and Cyclone aim, shoot Bart. He goes down to 2 boxes. Long game torpedoed successfully.
Ironclad doesn't move, Gallant runs into the Swan Zone and hides behind the fuel cache cloud.
The Sword Knights run, one goes at the edge of the control, the rest all run up and base to base their way into the zone.
Thorn runs way up the right edge, goes on the hill.
The Haleys hang back, put the Def buff up.

Merc 3: No choice but to try to kill Haley. With proper Bart positing (i.e. two inches to the left) I would be in an amazing attrition position, but coulda woulda shoulda.
I punch it up, if the Galleons roll min shots then I have a 60% or so, seems good (Haley is Def 18 camping 2).
Hot Shot Galleon advances, does shots, I realise I didn't move a Ranger in for the Marked Target and promptly utterly fails to do anything. MOAB round 3 genius returns.
Rangers walk up, get their silly ability up, try three shots into Haley but 10's was way to optimistic from those slumps.
Bart Hot Shots the left Galleon, then walks the hell back and prays this works.
Left Galleon moves up, throws out his attacks and manages to kill the Squire and Haley.

Not sure how much I can pull from this game. Basically if the Trenchers pop clouds to protect Haley after the Cyclone shoots him upthen I'd be sitting on about five health, have to fall back, kill Thorn and the Objective then play a cagey hide-the-warcaster game.
Definitely could feel that both players hadn't piloted the current list iterations. more testing required.
