Game 362 - Rnd 4 Chappie Slam eStryker vs eHexeris

Last Round of ye old Sarcoma Slammage.

Because I know I'd hate having to scroll up further for the lists:

Rolled into that renowned Pin man, Haidos Barbaidos on Fire Support.

eHexy and.....something? Definitely Something. Doesn't matter, it'll be eHexy.

I had a long, internal struggle. Then resolved that 3 Caine games to 1 Stryker was a better Ratio than 4 to 0. The table had a forest to for Nyss Shenanigans.

Cygnar Deploy: I win the roll and go second, Haidos gives me the forest though none of the terrain is too obnoxious. I plonk the Nyss on the forest side, Big Sword Knight unit in the centre and small unit with the Lancer escort on the right.


Skorne Deploy: Proxy Hordes!

Storm Disco Ball = Hydra
Immortals with Moops style Proxy forms attached = "Legends" of Halaak


Cygnar 1: Desperate Paced Nyss spread up and run around the forest, Sword Knight Units run up in the standard Triangle formation, Rowdy gets Arcane Shield, Stryker Deflects and moseys up with his favourite Jack. I keep everything back out of Croak Death range.


Skorne 1: Croaks spread out, left unit gets Ashen Veil for reasons. Average Bears go up in the back of the right Croak unit.


Cygnar 2: Simple plan, attrition this one out. Kill as many Croaks as possible, hope to have enough for a good feat turn to pop the Hydra or start the slow scenario game.

The Nyss move up and start their shots, initially life is pretty fantastic, then my dice average out. They manage to pop five Croaks on the left unit who fail their command check. The Black 13th move up, pop some right side Croaks. A Fire Storm goes, sadly is just out of range of the Croak I wanted and scatters to the left a little. It still partially blocks the Legends at least. Ol Rodinator and Stryker move up a bit, Stryker casts Deflection and arcs a Rebuke to hit the Legends.

I contemplated Lightning Storming the Halaak, limited past experience told me that never works for very well so I Rebuked instead. That would have been fine, except I ran all my Sword Knights into Halaak walk Range. I had a pair of Sword Knights in charge range of Croaks, I should have thrown them in then used the Reform to gt them back if they killed their targets.

When I threw the list together I also intended to skew two units defensively, the big Sword Knight Unit with Arcane Shield and Nyss with Go To Ground. I should have had both things running this turn but neglected to do so, which would be unfortunate shortly.


Skorne 2: Left Croaks fall back out of the way and rally. Marketh tries to Black Spot the right Sword Knight unit and buggers it up. The Brute uses its Animus, Riles, moves up and contests my left flag. The Krea uses its Animus and Riles. Hexy uses feat to send two boosted Ashes to Ashes into the Nyss, lands both and kills all but one elf and Murdoch (Go to Ground would have made it boosted 12's needed instead of 10's, not wonderful but still above the average curve at least).
Hydra walks forward and sprays 10 Sword Knights to death and does a couple points to the Lancer. The Legends move up, they get one attack in but miss. Right Croaks kill a few more Sword Knights.


Cygnar 3: Simple enough, kill the Hydra, Legends and hopefully the Brute as bonus with feat. I give a focus to Rowdy for a damage roll off the feat attack. Black 13th fail miserably to kill the Reach Halaak guy, who is engaging a pair of Sword Knights I want to send into the Hydra.
 Rowdy runs to the Hydra (Used Control area to determine he was an inch out of charge range, cause Rowdy doesn't have reach no matter how much I think he does).
Finn moves up and shoots at the Hydra, surprisingly he does a couple points.
Stryker feats and casts Positive Charge on the Lancer, who moves up and tries to clear out the Reach Legend dude. He buggers it up. The last few Sword Knights of the centre Unit go in and roll nicely on the Hydra. The right Sword Knights sigh, charge in and kill the Halaakians. Runewood moves up and shoots down a Croak on the right. The lone Nyss and Murdoch charge the Brute and embarrass themselves.

Feat moves go a lot better. The right unit of Sword Knights wander into the Hydra, I brutalise it and kill it with half the unit. Rowdy walks to the Brute and punches it for a little.


Skorne 3: There was a....less than quiet mini-human in the store and Andrew looked liked death. Every screech actually made him do a mini-shudder and glare with malice/despair.

Anyway, between Croaks, Marketh being a combat monster and Hexy charging to get this out of the way, all the Sword Knights die off. Krea runs up for giggles.


Cygnar 4: I give a focus to the Lancer. Runewood runs to be next to Hexy. Lancer tries to slam him, but I mess up the distance to be just shy of three inches. Rowdy punches the Krea and leaves it on a small number. Stryker charges Hexy, overcharges for two dice (Four Strength, eight damage), boosts his to hits and kills the lock and the Krea on the way.


Me on the right. Liking this list far more without the dwarves and a different mix of guns. The Black 13th is definitely a unit I'm going to get stuck on which list to put it in somewhere down the line.
