Game 289/90 - Gorten vs eThagrosh/pVlad

Martiness with Legion of Thuglife!

Gorten's my default for Legion, good to test it out for the third or so time ever in the matchup. Need more games....

Gorten - Earthbreaker, Gun Mages + Dude, 2x Pressgangers, pAlexia + Risen, Tinker, Gorman, Ragman, Hawk, Madelyn, Anastasia, Pendrake, Piper

Legion Deploy: I lost the roll, Marty was wise to my jamming plans and went first.
Proxies:
Naga = Raek
Sorceress = Seraph



Merc deploy, picked the side with reasonable cover (Comparitively) to hide behind



Legion 1: Dragon buff goes on the Carnivean. The Raeks go up on either side, one behind the forest. Otherwise the Beasts all move up.



Merc 1: Everything runs up and spreads out, two Pressgangers get into engage the left Raek. Most of the solos hang back in a group in the back centre or back right. Alexia and Risen get Fearless/Tough. Gorten puts up Solid Ground.



Legion 2: Dragon junk upkept. Thags feats, then with the Carnivean spray down a bunch of Pressgangers, Typhon charged up and sprayed Alexia, which ends up putting her on one health and taking out half the Risen.

Shredder puts Tenacity on the left Raek, at some point Spiny goes on Typhon.

The left Raek walks up, the right one does a run through the forest. Feat moves and attacks kill Alexia from Typon, the left Raek puts Hawk on one box, the right Raek puts Piper on one box.

Bad Raeks!



Merc 2: Gorten Intrigues up an inch or so. Solid ground drops, three focus to Earthbreaker.

Left Pressgangers (Red attack squad) squirm around a little bit to get out of the way. Right Pressgangers charge in, three get on the Thags which they duly bounce off of.

Pendrake puts Beast Lore on the Gun Mages. Piper puts Fearless/Tough on the Gun Mages then stabs the right Raek for five damage. One Gun Mage in engaged, the rest move up, they Thunderstrike the Carnivean into a Pressganger which gets him away from the Objective blocking the Gorten pull. They also kill a Pressganger that needed to die.

Risen surround the left Raek and miss their attacks. Gorten walks up, feats to drag in the Scythean, Carnivean and Typhon, puts Strength of Granite on the Earthrbeaker. The left Raek is effected but goes no where. Hawk goes into the Raek and takes out its body. Madelyn runs to block a freestrike from that Raek on Gorman, who walks up and Blinds the Carnivean/Typhon.

Earthbreaker walks up, uses a Knock Down torpedo on the Carnivean/Typhon. Rolls low on Nipple shots, tries a scatter torpedo on the Seraph but doesn't get to the important stuff.

Hawk takes out the centre Raeks body.

I should have just punched the Scythean to death, don't know why I decided last minute to screw around with shots. Also took way to long on the turn, got to cut that down in tournaments. Solid Ground should have also been kept, though now I know that Scourge is a thing...



Legion 3: Scythean frenzies, Typhon/Carnivean are knocked down/blinded so can't do squat. Thags charges the Carni, Scourges to knock down Gorten and kill some Risen. A freestrike spawns a Shredder, then the Raek gets healed. Raek and Seraph both pop forward and try to put down Gorten, they put him on ten boxes.

Marty timed out mid turn, I had 20 minutes to go. Played out Martys turn, I would have Blinded Thags by hitting the Carni, then a Strength of Granite Dar Fielded Earthbreaker horribly mauls the Thuglife.

 

 

 

Had a quick 35 pointer versus Edmicronomita, I dropped Tinker, Pendrake and the Press Gangers. He rocked pVlad with Drago, WGRC with Joe, Ponies and Black Dragon boat.

 

Bottom of two, I went second and pushed stuff out of the zone.
The previous turn my Gun Mages rolled like bosses to pop three Ponies.

Bottom of three, cleared zone again, went to three CP.

Drago scragged most of the Earthbreakers left side, some Rifle and IFP got in the zone where the Gun Mages plinked them out. Grante Earthbreaker easily killed Drago.

35 point games are still weird to me now.
