Game 368 - eCaine vs 3Vlad

A long time ago, when people finally stopped talking about Back to the Future, I got a second game in on the Mondays.

I had eHaley, eCaine and Arkadius on hand. Lacking a preference, Edell suggested a dice roll with came up with Caine, Allister Caine.

eCaine - Centurion, Squire, Rangers, Boomhowlers, Gun Mages + Dude, pAlexia + Risen, Aiyanna + Holt, TAC, Piper, Reinholdt, eEiryss, Journeyman Warcaster
Objective: Effigy

I'd call this list as pretty much set in stone at this point. I enjoy playing it, has a good game plan, only issue is that it does an attrition slog with a lot of models and fiddly activation's that sees me generally on the bad side of the clock.

3Vlad - Ruin, 2x IFP + UA (One Black Dragon, one normal), Fenris, War Doge, Ragman, Gorman, 2x IFP Kovnik, Ponies, Saxon
Objective: Effigy

Rolled up Incoming.

Cygnar Deploy: I won the roll and picked first. Caine faced off the left side, the Gun Mages the right as either or will be needed to get rid of the Spray Ponies before they flat out wipe my list off the board. For my AD I put Eiryss across from Ruin and the Rangers across from the Ponies.

Khador Deploy: Ponies on the right, black IFP unit is, ironically, the regular IFP.

Cygnar 1: It all runs forward in an unexciting manner.
Boomies get Heightened Reflexes, I put Blur on the TAC as a whim but that wasn't going to stick. Arcane Shield goes on the Centurion.

Khador 1: Vlad throws out Infernal Machine on Ruin, Dash, Hand of Fate on the Ponies then falls the hell back away from Caine. The IFP Shield March/Pathfinder forward in triangles. Fenris/Ruin run up to be in front of the Khador objective. Gorman clouds for giggles. Ponies move up on the right.

Cygnar 2: Simple enough plan, jam up with Boomies on the left, pop Ruin with a disruptor bolt, use Caine to kill Fenris and do a Magic Bullet to kill Gorman.
I keep Heightened Reflexes and Arcane Shield going.
First up, Eiryss moves up and disrupts Ruin/drops Infernal Machine. Caine gets reloaded, moves up onto the hill and kills Fenris. He then has enough focus to throw two Magic Bullets on Gun Mages, so hopefully I can kill both Gorman and Ragman.
Rangers move up on the right, the try to shoot Ponies and don't do a lot. The Gun Mages move up, both Magic Bullet shots hit Pikemen but sadly I need to use both Magic Bullets to kill Gorman. The remaining shots kill two of the Ponies, which was saddening.
TAC/Boomies run into blocking positions.
Alexia runs to the right to collect Ranger/Gun Mage Corpses.

That Alexia movement was a mistake. The three murder Ponies that survived looked like they were positioned to wipe out the Rangers/Gun Mages and then I'd need to have other stuff in the zone (The bizarre thought process went something like "My warcaster is stuck on the left, I'll have my pseudo Warcaster take the other flank").
What would have been better would be to run Alexia and some Risen into the left. Vlads not coming forward while my feats on the table, so I can only really lose one control point if the right zone gets cleared. The Boomies are then in a Xanatos gambit, either they pass their tough rolls or I get corpses and can push the scenario aggressively. Also gives me an out for killing Ruin without burning my feat.
We forgot Ruins dispel affect at the time, but it also makes Heightened Reflexes somewhat pointless.

Khador 2: The Ponies walk forward and spray, they roll surprisingly badly even with hands of fate and only a couple Rangers die. They then light cav backwards.
Vlad feats, charges a Boomhowler, kills him and sprints behind the Khador Objective. Ruin then pops a couple Boomhowlers. The right Pikies flood into their zone, exploding a Gun Mage and Shield Walling on the way.
Ruin moves up, kills a Boomhowler and sidesteps into Greygore, killing him and Sprinting back (Well, more like a leasurely stroll really). The Black Dragons on the left zone mini-feat and cut down the Boomhowlers horribly, feeding Ruin to three souls  whilst getting three of them into the zone.

Cygnar 3: I was surprised to not be down a CP, but the left flank was looking horrendously precarious. Above all else I wanted to kill Ruin, but the prospect of Black Dragons walking in and CMAing Caine to death meant that getting the aggressive dominate without a screening unit was a no go.

Aiyanna/Holt walk up and Harm Ruin, she takes three points of damage. Holt does no damage to Ruin.  Caine aims, feats and burns all but one focus to kill Ruin, then kills a Pikeman. The TAC move up and throw Flame Bombs into the Pikemen, they all miss. Eiryss walks tot he hill and tries to kill a Pikeman, she ends up hitting a TAC and doing a point.
Centurion walks into the IFP on the right and misses its attacks. Alexia, Risen and the engaged Gun Mages go into that unit, they kill three. The rest of the Gun Mages and the remaining Rangers kill off the Ponies.
Junior moves up and puts Arcane Shield on Caine..

Ergh. This turns play was as sad as a Vegan based clown act.
Eiryss should have gone earlier and moved to a safe spot, I needed her to threaten vlad with a focus strip shot for an assassination now that Caines feat was off the table. Not like the list without Ponies was going to shoot her down. The TAC that died took exactly enough points to die thanks to the Eiryss shot, so that was some salt in my self inflicted wounds. Centurion should have just Polarity Shielded and moved to the left side of the right zone to start getting involved on the left where it was needed, and retained Arcane Shield.
The TAC threw firebombs because for some bizarre reason I decided crit fishing wish no to hit boost was a great idea (I was seduced by the idea of a shield walled unit being on fire dammit! Stupid 11% chances...)

Khador 3: Ragman moves into the right zone and Death Fields. The IFP on the right charge and use their mini-feat. They pop a Risen and knock off the Centurions left arm. That flanks Kovnik charges a Risen who toughs it out.
On the left zone the Black Dragons Shield March around, killing the TAC contesting the zone, Eiryss and the last Boomhowler.
Vlad runs into the wreck of Ruin, Doge follows him.

Khador go to 1 CP.

Cygnar 4: Under 15 minutes, so no pic. I feed the Centurion some focus and Risen spawn in the right IFP's back arcs. Plan was to clear out the right zone, kill the doge and try to hammer a scenario game somehow as Vlad was looking pretty safe. If I can move Alexia across I think I can flood enough to have a potential play.

Centurion gets three focus.
Holt toes the zone, Aiyanna harms the Black Dragons. Holt kills one Pikemen. The TAC try to kill the other Pikeman engaging Caine and much it up. I'm forced to charge Junior in to clear Caine (Unlikely, but a crit freestrike on Caine from a Pikeman would be game over).
Reinholdt runs to the right of the board. Caine walks to the right, shoots the Dog. Hits both times, first puts him to one box, he toughs the next shot. Caine curses and Gate Crashes into the right zone out of Vlad murder range.
Gun Mages/Rangers kill the right side Kovnik.
Piper moves to the left in the backfield.

Khador 4: No Pic. Vlad charges and kills Junior. IFP on the left stab the Centurion and do nothing. Black Dragons on the left clear off the TAC, Aiyanna and Holt. The left Kovnik moves across the zone.

Khador go to 2 CP.

Cygnar 5: No Pic. More Risen spawn on the Risen on the right. Time pressure is on, I measure my control area hastily, it looks like Vlad is just in slam range of the Centurion, so I give him a couple focus. Risen/Alexia/Gun Mages finally kill Ragman and the right unit of IFP.
The Centurion tries to slam Vlad, is about 2mm out. Dangit.
Caine gets Relaoded, moves up and shoots the Objective, boosts damage rolls but doesn't roll to well and does seven points before Gate Crashing back to the zone out of Vlad murder range.
Rangers charge Saxon and brutally murder him.
Piper gives tough to the Risen and runs to toe the zone.

Cygnar goes to 1 CP.

Khador 5: No Pic. Vlad does flashing blade attacks on Dougal. I think I tough five times? He then burns his stack to take out the Movement on the Centurion and falls back to teh Ruin wreck Marker.
Centurion gets a free strike.
I hit, do a hard spike on the damage to leave Vlad with two health.
The Pikemen hedge the zone, one gets to toe my zone.

Khador go to 3 CP.

Cygnar 6:Alexia and Risen get out of the way, she misses a shot on Vlad. Caine gets Reloaded, moves across, boosts to hit and damage. Vlad dies.

Me on the right.
Undeserved victory, seems pretty standard for my games with Ed.

Game 367 - Arkadius vs pSkarre

Early Montacon game again Damonicron.

35 pointer, so I grabbed the list that was easiest to knock 15 points off.

Ergo:

Dr Arkadius (Nature of the Beast Tier 4) - 2x Road Hog, 2x Gorax, 2x Gun Boar, Targ, 4x RaBo's, Bone Grinders (Max)
Objective: Arcane Wonder

Into......Cryx. pSkarre.

I've made a terrible mistake.

Rolled up Fire Support, using 42 minute deathclock.

pSkarre - Slayer, Helldiver, Skarlock, Bane Thralls + UA, Tartare Sauce, Gerlax Slaughterborn, Blood Gorgers, Necrosurgeon + Stitch Thrall, Warwitch Siren
Objective: Fuel Cache I think?

Won the die roll, which lets me go first which helps a lot. Stops the Objectives screwing me up for a top of 2 feat, so Skarre in the best case situation feats defensive and backs off or I get a good alpha.

Piggies Deploy: Fairly normal Arkady deploy, no danger of me feating straight up so didn't have to think to hard about facings.

Cryx Deploy: No Pic. The key terrain here is that in front fo teh Cryx deploy is a hill and a weirdly shaped Linear to the left.
Helldiver and the Warwitch are on the extreme left, then heading right we have the Bane blob, Skarre and Slayer in the middle, Slaughterface and Gorgers on the right.

Piggies 1: Everything runs up, the Road Hogs bank left as they'll be needed to get the Banes and relevant solos on that flank of the Cryxites. RaBo's skirmish out the front, Gun Boars and Gorax' stay near Arkadius in the centre.
Forced Evo on the far left Road Hog, Aggravator up out of habit but not relevant to life.

Cryx 1: Everything runs pretty much directly forward, Skarlock rolls a five for focus boosting lameness.
Skarre ends up on the hill behind the Slayer, Gorgers skirmish out on the right but a few go on the hill edge nearest me. Tartarus hides behind the Linear, Thralls chill out. Helldiver digs.

At one point Damagorgon was going to put Tartarus in front of the Linear, which I was desperately hoping for as it would ensure a Road Hog getting in and killing him. Sadly he elected to not do that, so unreliable Road Hog shots it was going to have to be.

Piggies 2: Aggravator drops, because it is irrelevant.
RaBo's charge and get in on a few Gorgers and Banes, they do pretty well for free models. Gridners craft Arkadius' Talisman (Every two inches counts).
Arkadius walks up to just be in range of the Gorgers, boosts and hits with a Crippling Grasp, then maltreats off a RaBo. Feat move gets the Road Hogs and one Gun Boar up, the RaBo's nom on a few more Thralls and Gorgers.
A Gorax Primals the forward Gun Boar, the back Gun Boar does a lols shot, scatters onto the Thralls and kills one.
The Primalled Gun Boar slams the Slayer over Skarre. No damage, but knocks her down. The right most Road Hog Assaults a Thrall, killing a few Gorgers with the Spray and setting Skarre and Gerlaker on fire (He embarrassingly missed the Seether). The left left Road Hog sheltered behind the Linear, shot down a bane, set the officer on fire and killed Tartare Sauce.

Variety of screw ups here, even though that went well. Arkadius could have Sprinted the right Road Hog, letting him move back from setting Skarre on fire. A Gorax could have then interjected to be killed and save me a heavy. The Gun Boars were to close together from the turn one run up, so had I feated the second one forward it would have charged and mauled its twin. Boosting the shooting Gun Boars attacks was a mistake, I'd have plenty of Fury options and one extra Bane wouldn't cover the fury head aches as I'd need to draw off him to preserve my back line.

Cryx 2: Skarre took some fire damage, the Bane Thrall Officer died and Gerlak went out.
Skarre shook herself and the Slayer, giving it two. She then moved over on the hill a bit, cast Dark Guidance feated for 5 and spent a couple focus to kill the Gun Boar. The Slayer killed the Road Hog near it so brutally it was embarrassing and video footage of the incident banned for the good of Piggy morale back home in baconland.
Gerlak/Gorgers limped around in front of her (Putting Crippling Grasp on Cryx units is very therapeutic). Bane Thralls did some spring cleaning, I end up with a Razor Boar without a mind surviving. The Witch Siren tries to Shadowbind the left Road Hog, but is just out of Skarres control area and misses (Needed a 9). The Helldiver goes in but also misses.

Piggies 3: Rough plan was to wait it out for now. Hopefully the left Road Hog would Frenzy and munch on the Helldiver a bit, then I could arc a Primal Shock to kill the Warwitch Siren being outside of the armour buff. I'd like to put attacks on Skarre, but I didn't see an easy way to get worthwhile attacks going, so I decided to position to be out of the Gorger threat range, have a Gorax in charge range of the Objective, use the Gun Boar to start the Gorger whittling. From here the trades go Road Hog pop either the Banes or Slayer, Gun Boar kills Gorgers, I'm left with a couple lights, Targ and Bone Grinders to kill Skarre if scenario doesn't pull me ahead.

The Road Hog doesn't frenzy. Dangit. I upkeep both spells. Road Hog moves to get to the Warwitch, boosts the to hit roll and kills her. Arkadius maltreats off him and hangs in the middle. Last RaBo misses his boosted attack, Gun Boar kills a Gorger.

Cryx 3: I crank the damage roll and kill Skarre with fire.

Well, wasn't expecting that. It was pointed out that Gerlak could charge in which I didn't take into account, on average he doesn't kill a beast but if he does manage to pop the Gun Boar I'd be in problem city as the trades starting looking problematic, it only takes a couple Banes or a good Slayer activation to swing it against me.

Me on the right. Deathclock in 35 is a novel experience to me, I've found that in the later stages the Ark actually plays the clock pretty well as you only have to do a few important activation's and otherwise just push Beasts around.

Game 366 - eHaley vs eMorvhana

Slamazon round two!  For once I didn't flame out in round 1, definitely because of skill and not the fact this warcaster is complete bullshit.

eHaley - Stormwall (Bonded), Thorn, Black 13th, Squire, Journeyman, Tinker, Gorman, Hawk, Anastasia, 2x Press Gangers
Objective: Effigy of Valor

Recon and that salty pillar, Chibster.

eMorvhana - Ghetorix, Stalker, Gorax, Druids + UA, 2x Reeve Hunter, Reeve unit, Blackclad, 2x Gallows, 3x War Wolf
Objective: Effigy

Cygnar Deploy - Win the roll and pick first, throw the Stormwall on the side without the wall to cause me placement grief.

Circle Deploy - Hippies and stuff. Reeves because he can?

Cygnar 1 - Everything runs up, I try to keep the Press Gangers a bit back to lessen the amount of horrible deaths early on. Deceleration goes up.

Circle 1 - The Druids cloud up, Groves and War Wolves move up wither side. One Press Ganger dies even with re-rolls, because Reeves are that awesome.

Cygnar 2 - Thorn runs to the right.

Haley casts Dec, moves into the zone, feats, arcs a TK through Thron and casts another one nearby to move a Pressganger each into charge range of the Groves to weak Mov's feat with some RFP.

Hawk runs to give her damage boost to the right Smurfs. The Press Ganger units go in, they RFP the War Wolves and the Gallows.
Stormwall moves up and kills a few of the Druids, puts Covering fire in front of them.
Black 13th try to use Beacon and snipes to kill the Druid UA but bugger it up.

Circle 2 - Things limp around, the Reeves again fail to do much, kill a couple Commies. Three Drudis try to pull Haley in, each one misses. Stalker walks up to the Stormwall.

Morv moves up and kills Haley with some hot rolling Strangle holds.

Me on the left.

Well, that's how you bugger it up.

There was no reason for Haley to toe the zone. Not like Chibinar was going to kill his own objective and move his models out of the zone for me.

The basic change would be to put Haley behind my Objective. I also could have put the Covering fire on the Druids to force them to walk instead of letting them attempt their pulls.

Game 365 - eHaley vs eSorscha

Slamtasm.

Rednut goes away to be replaced by everyone's favourite Haley.

eHaley - Stormwall (Bonded), Thorn, Black 13th, Squire, Journeyman, Tinker, Gorman, Hawk, Anastasia, 2x Press Gangers
Objective: Effigy of Valor

Round one, into Ediman, with eSorscha on Close Quarters.

eSorscha - Conquest, Silly Wishes-he-was-a-fish, Malakoc + Ruin, Reinholdt, Boomhowlers, WGI Deathstar minus one rocket

The plan: Stare at list of spells. Be unsure what is best in life. Run stuff forward and feat, ride Cygnar wave to victory.

Cygnar Deploy -Angled the Stormwall to be able to run past that Linear. Thought was to put Haley on the safe flag and channel through Thorn to nab points on the other flag.

Khador Deploy - The Reds/ Silly and Reinhold held back in case of Ruins Abomination sillyness. The base is obviously the Conquest.

Cygnar 1 - Everything runs up, Temporal acceleration and Bond getting that Stormwall fourteen inches up the table. Deceleration goes up. Thorn, Hawk and Anastasia line up behind the Linear. Press Gangers spread around.

I forget to put Arcane Shield up because of stupidity.

Khador 1 - Sorscha gets Lucky Charm and Arcane Secrets, moves up and tries to Freezing Grip the left unit of Press Gangers.

She misses.

She then cyclones back. Conquest moves up and kills some of the left nit of Press Gangers. WGI Bob and Weave, move up and shoots down a pair of the Smurfs on the right. Ruin gets Red Line and runs up. Boomhowlers shout super tough and run up.

Cygnar 2 - I can draw a line through the WGI, so it's try to kill Malakov time. Plan is to run Thorn forward and Arcane Bolt through. If that fails I'll move the Stormwall and use a Pod to disrupt Ruin and not give him any soul targets.

Thorn runs up toward the WGI. Haley Arcane Bolts and kills Malakov. Reactive drive moves up Thorn, so I throw a Time Bomb at Sorscha. I do a mighty two points to Sorscha, but debuff her and the Conquest and kill Reinholdt. Haley then moves up to my flag and feats.

The Commies go into the Boomhowlers and kill a few. Stormwall moves up, puts down some covering fire and shoots down Greygore. Black 13th wander around, throw down a Mag Storm that misses Ruin and scatters a bit. The Smurfs spread around for a bit with not much left to do.

Khador 2 - The Boomhowlers move in, one of them sadly gets to contest range of my flag (should have engaged the smuck). Conquest kills some Commies. WGI move up. Sorascha moves to the side, toes out of the Killbox and puts Iron Flesh on herself. Joe kills the Stormpod.

Cygnar 3 - I planned to kill Sorscha, using the Mage Blast to clear Thorn, run up a Press Ganger and slam him in, knock Sorscha down and shoot her to death with the Stormwall.

I allocated out a bit, then as I tried to put the plan into action it fell apart. The problem was that Mage Storm would stop the relevant Smurf getting into place.

I ended back on the scenario play performed poorly. Thorn ends up stabbing some WGI down, the Smurfs go in and kill a load more Peasants. Black 13th put down another Mage Storm. Commies, Hawk, Stormwall, Storm Pod and Gorman kill the Boomhowlers. Anastasia runs to the right flag.

Cygnar go to 2 CP.

Khador 3 - Sorscha moves up and reactivates Ruin, then kills the Storm Pod impeding the Conquest, casts Boundless Charge and feats. WGI spray down most of the Smurfs who decide to run away. Conquest charges Stormwall, leaves it one two boxes (One Movement and one Left arm).

Cygnar goes to 3 CP.

Cygnar 4 - Two focus goes to Thorn, for we'll definitely slam properly this time.

I TK and Reactive drive Thorn to the right. I try to TK Ruin and fail because of his anti spell tech. I then boost and hit Sorscha with a TK and spin her around.

Thorn slams Sorscha into Ruin, does a good damage roll. Black 13th move up and shoot her down.

Me on the left.

Dear god, what is this Haley nonsense?! This is what the Swan forums have a problem with?!

I can practically feel the distance to the ceiling for playing Haley well. Don't think Stryker has a chance of being played again. Still keen for Darius and Caine though, so that's something.

Game 364 - eCaine vs pDenny

So we survey the shop on the Monday and see.....

Guild Ball. Loads of Guild Ball.

Dangit people, there's a limit to the amount of hobbies I have the time and energy to pursue :-(

Got a round in with Damonazon, who was shaking off Warmachine rust from Cancon while I had the motivative power of a Delorean (Back to the future or not, they were sucky cars).

Cryx of some description, so I rolled my eyes at the Ginger and brought out the fun caster.

Playing on Recon, which I think I've come around to by thinking of it as the bastard hybrid of Destruction and Incursion (Mostly got Destruction's genes).

eCaine - 'Ol Rowdy, Squire, Rangers, Boomhowlers, Gun Mages + Dude, pAlexia + Risen, Aiyanna + Holt, TAC, Piper, Reinholdt, eEiryss, Journeyman Warcaster
Objective: Effigy

pDeneghra - 3x Bonejack nodes, Aikos + Leviathan, Mechanithralls + Skarlock Commander, Skarlock, Withershadow Combine, Necrosurgeon, Bane Thralls + UA, 2x Witch Siren
Objective: Arcane Wonder

Cygnar Deploy: Damonthon won the roll and picked the side his models were waiting on, a hard argument to refute. Eiryss went on the flanking duty, the rangers stared at teh nearby forest ont eh left with great avarice.

Cryx Deploy: The scourge of Immorren. The melding of at least a dozen styles, subcultures and themes with a Dragon drooped sloppily on top. You know the ones.
The Bone Nodes were spread out amongst everything else, Aikos and his Leviathan took the far right opposing Eiryss. Bane Thrall took the right half of the centre, Mechanithralls took the left. Denny sat in the middle and pondered the innter mysteries of life (She'll ponder this less after her sister divorces her lower limbs from torso).

Cygnar 1: Gibbering hopefully out of the way, turn 1 and everything runs up. The Rangers surround the forest, Eiryss edges up a short distance. Blur goes on the TAC, Heightened Reflexes on the the Boomies, True Shot on Caine and Arcane Shield on the Centurion.

My thinking was that Boomies would get Crippling Grasped, Eiryss would clear it off them, they jam while Magic Bullet kills the Necro Surgeon and the regular guns pop off one Cryx unit at a time.

Cryx 1: Aikos throws up Escort, everything moves up. Sure enough, Denny arcs a Crippling Grasp and lands it on the Boomies. Aikos ducking into the forest surprised me, but was likely inevitable given he controlled the Cryx heavy. Eiryss was happier anyway.

Cygnar 2: Simple enough, plan is to pop the Necrosurgeon, kill a bunch of the Mechanithralls and drop Crippling Grasp to get those Boomies.
I upkeep True Shot and drop the rest.
Eiryss moved across a bit and shot a Boomhowler. By which I mean, shot an imaginary Boomhowler serving as the invisible friend she desperately needs. Stupid snake eyes.
The Boomhowlers limp forward and do some random shots, one of them actually lands the shot on the forward most Bone Jack.
Caine gives out two Magic Bullets and kills a Bane Thrall. I buggered up the positioning, should have set him to blow up that Bonejack.
The Rangers move up and kill a bunch of the Mechanithralls, then the Gun Mages Magic Bullet the Necro Surgeon and devastate the Mechanithralls. Holt goes into the trench, leaves the Bone Jack on one Movement Box.
Centurion toes the zone and Polarity Fields. TAC cloud up.

Cryx 2: Denny goes into the zone and feats on most of my stuff.
I was sweating bullets, thinking a Bone Jack would toe the clouds and kill Caine with a few Venoms. Damwhals spent a bit of time contemplating spells, until finally the whole "He activated Denny first" thing penetrated my skull.
The pair of Mechanithralls and Banes went into the Boomhowlers, a few die but tough saves a few of them. The Harrower does a pot shot at the Centurion, achieves nothing. Stitch Thralls tie up the Rangers.

Cygnar 3: Plan is to get rid of Crippling Grasp (For sure this time!), keep junk in the zone and pop some Withershadow.
Risen spawn up the field. Caine drops back, throws out a pair of Magic Bullets The Centurion lumbers forward and Polarity Fields. I've mucked up my order of activations, so the Risen can't get to the right spot for Magic Bullet's to go where I planned.
Instead the Gun Mages and Rangers kill off one more Mechanithrall, ping the Objective for a few points and it takes both Magic Bullets to kill off one of the Warwitch Siren. Eiryss strips off Crippling Grasp, The Boomhowlers move around and swing a bit for not much.
TAC cloud away.

Cryx 3: Denny hides behind the Objective, arcs Crippling Grasp back onto the Boomhowlers. The fully loaded Harrower walks across to the left side of the zone and does some shots, the rolls are appalling. Aikos leaps forward on the right and Harpoons Eiryss to death.
Thralls swing again into Boomhowlers, another couple go down.

Cygna 4: Denny is out of sight on full camp, clock is about even. Plan is to clear the zone, pop the Objective and get the scenario win rolling. I have to get rid of the Harrower, a Bone jack, the last Mechanithrall and three Thralls.
Holt moves up and kills Aikos, deactivating the Harrower. Alexia spawns a Thrall as a backup to kill anything I fail to.
Boomies kill a Banes and the Mechanithrall. Rangers and Gun Mages move up and shoot down the Bone Jack Node.
Centurion moves up, kills the two Thralls left in the zone. Caine walks to toe the back left of the zone, shoots the Objective and blows it up.
TAC Cloud. Thrall charges Denny for the lols, misses the attack by one.

Cygnar goes to 3 CP.

Cryx 4: Bone Jack on the left moves over. Banes charge in yet again, they take out a column on the Centurion. Denny throws out a few Venoms and mauls the Rangers and some Gun Mages.

Cygnar 5: Centurion gets focus, kills the Banes in the zone and done, Cygnar goes to 5 CP.

Me on the left. Not the sharpest example of play or anything, but I'm happy enough. Needing to Magic Bullet so much is eh. The thing to do early on was still get the Necrosurgeon, but use Caine's attacks to chew up the Nodes then the Thralls, using the Cloud to hide and the Centurion with Reach to stop the Nodes toeing the cloud and Venoming Caine to death.

I'd planned on one more game with Stryker, but I've decided sod the angry Ginger, I want a caster I'm more enthused about using with a list that isn't forty plus infantry models. Time for Haley, the other Haley or Darius.

Game 363 - eStryker vs Dr Arkadius

Finally free for some game time, got one in at the Jolt shop.

It's some proxy minions to test out the new releases (This is because Mattous is willing to possibly enter Grolarism whereas I am not). I drop Stryker, in the standard pairs there would be a Road Hog and few things make me sadder at the moment than Caine being set on fire.

Rolled up Destruction.

eStryker - Centurion, Squire, Sword Knights + UA, more Sword Knights, Nyss + Murdoch, Runewood, Journeyman, Maxwell Finn, Lancer, Black 13th
Objective: Effigy

vs

Dr Arkadius (Nature of the Beast) - 6x Battle Boars, 4x Splatter Boars, 2x Gorax, Bone Grinders (Min)
Objective: Fuel

Caine Deploy: I won the roll and picked first, Arkadius is usually quick enough that giving him the first turn is a bad idea and means the Objectives can mess up his feat positioning.
One Proxy, Holt = Maxwell Finn.

Pig Deploy: Matman picks the side with the helpful hill and without the obstructive forest. One of the things the Stryker list does is not have to many issues with pathfinder, so that's fine by me. The armour and boxes of all the light beasts means that playing coy with the forest and Nyss Guns isn't going to really pan out though.
Proxies:
Posse (Front rank) = Battle Boars
Gun Boars (Second Rank) = Splatter Boars
Arkadius, Gorax' and Grinders are normal.

Cygnar 1: Everything runs up, Arcane Shield goes on the more central, larger Sword Knight unit, Deflection pops up. A few of the infantry run forward to toy with Arkadius feating.

Pig 1: The Battle Boars run forward in a sort of skirmish line, the Splatters stay behind and throw Corrosion bombs to pop off the forward most infantry models. Arkadius and the Gorax camp out on the hill with Aggravator up.

Cygnar 2: I move Arcane Shield to Stryker, Corrosion attacks made Arcane Shielding my one owund models unappealing. Everything moves up, the Nyss get Desperate Paces to put three of them assaulting in to one of the right side Battle Boars, leave it on 4 boxes.

Pig 2: Arkadius Crippling grasps the centre Sword Knight unit, Splatter Boars do a variety of shots, their inaccuracy means they actually fail to hit Battle Boars in the back to clear them off, so the Battle Boars have to activate to go Rabid and eat the models engaging them.

The net result is that the main Sword Knight Unit has four models left with Crippling Grasp, the left unit is 90% intact and I still have a smattering of Nyss. One Battle Boar also runs up and gets just shy of Ol' Rowdy.

I should have Countercharged the Boar in front of me, but feared a Battle Boar assassination that I might have missed.

Cygnar 3: Lancer gets Positive Charged and runs up to engage two of the Battle Boars on the left, Stryker feats. Nyss kill the Battle Boar on the right that they had mauled previously. The Black 13th and Finn shoot up the Battle Boar in front of Rowdy, take him to about ten boxes. Rowdy walks forward and slaps that Boar down. Healthy SK unit charges and kills a Battle Boar on the left.

Feat moves put the Lancer, healthy Sword Knights and Runewood in on the left side of the zone, they kill another Battle Boar but leave one alive on a trickle of health. Rowdy/Stryker shift over in the zone. Nyss do some points to the Objective, 13th and Finn spread out.

Pig 3: Splatter Boars, Battle Boars devastate the SK's and kill Runewood. The Gorax' go in, one on each Jack and roll appallingly. The Lancer remains all systems active , the Gorax on Rowdy perfectly takes out the left arm.

Arkadius tries to shift Crippling Grasp to the Nyss and misses the boosted attack, casts Forced Evo on one Gorax. Arkadius feats, none of the beasts do that well.

Cygnar 4: Arkady is 12 inches from Stryker with one Transfer. The Nyss try a CRA on him that misses, the last Sword Knight from the centre unit charges him and misses. Stryker Velocities for one, charges in, Overloads for 2 dice (8 strength, 3 damage). Boost the attack rolls, first hit does 25 damage which kills a Gorax, second lops Arkadius' head off.

Me on the right, I'm liking the Stryker list but again the Nyss Go to Ground was ineffective, this time due to Splatter Boar nonsense (Corrosion damage roll not being Blast damage...). The list also really lacks staying power, need to position better I think, no obvious changes to make at this time.
