Game 336 - Bart vs 3Kreoss

Round of Derptronning, this time hopefully with a more interesting right up...

Nab bed in second one with Jacob, who looked ready to drop off his feet. Easy Prey if I wasn't flummoxing everything?

Bart - Galleon, Boomhowlers (Max), Gun Mages + The Dude, pAlexia + Risen, Aiyanna + Holt, Gorman, Dougal, eEiryss, Anastasia, Taryn, Piper
Objective: Armory

3Kreoss - Fire of Salvation, Reckoner, Errants + UA, Errant Seneschal, Vengers, Gravus, Choir, Vassal type 1, Vassal type 2
Objective: Arcane Wonder

Merc Deploy: Split Boomhowler deploy, because I have never screwed that up before...
Dougal continues to prance in Cygnar Journeyman form.

Menoth Deploy: That sure is some stuff. Things I don't know about at this stage: What Kreoss does outside of his feat, who Gravus is or what the Errant Seneschal gets up to in the wee hours of the morning.

Merc 1: Hot Shot, run up! Eiryss flanking time, brings back good memories. I try to run the Boomhowlers to be about 16 away from the Errants, I can eyeball the right line with right the zone easily but had a harder time with the blokes running up the left.

Menoth 1: Vengers get Holy Ward, everything moves up, Kreoss himself favouring the side with a linear and away from Anastasia/Eiryss. My expectation with the Boomhowlers was correct, two of them were in range of the Errants by a whisker, to my surprise armour 16 was too high for the Bolts to get through.

In hindsight I think Jacobstan would have been better off putting the Def buff on the Errants, I don't really have the guns to kill to many of the Vengers unless I put the Galleon in position to get hit up by both Heavies in future turns, which will kill it.

Merc 2: So here is where I suffer a misplay I do ALL THE TIME and don't pay enough attention to.
I'm going to rain down some AoE's, I don't want to hit my own stuff. Ergo, I should have the Galleon not blocked in by the jamming unit that wants to activate second.
It's not the end of the world in this particular matchup, because want you really want the Galleon to do is drag the Heavies in one by one, but the Reckoner is blocked by an Errant that will just self Sac to stay in a drag block position. Usually said Colossal would toe the zone to contest, but again that will get it killed by Heavies and if Kreoss goes to score then I'll have Anastasia and Eiryss in threatening positions for a not terrible assassination.
Anyway, Galleon pew pews, wrecks a bunch of the Errants. Gun Mages shuffle around in the back a little and pop a few more. I have now discovered the Seneschal has self sac and Gravus collects souls.
We misplay how Fire of Salvation's charge thing works, as it gets triggers to move the Jack up in my turn. These things do happen.
Bart walks up and aggressively feats, Gorman moves up and clouds behind him.
Taryn has to kill a Gun Mage so Alexia can run up to collect Boomhowler Corpses. Genius...
Eiryss runs up to a potential Arcane Interference place in cover, Anastasia runs to the middle of the board.

I definitely suffered from not keeping my turn plan in my mind, net result a Galleon that didn't advance as far as it could and one dead Gun Mage.
I didn't hate my position at this point, more Errant died than I had any right to expect and Feat should keep Anastasia and Alexia alive in dangerous spots.

Menoth 2: Eiryss is slightly out of Interference range so Salvation gets a Pile of Focus.
At this point Jacob points out that Gravus gives Errants immunity to Knock Down.
I hate that dude, how is it I've never seen this nonsense?!
Bart Feat making Boomies DEF 15 with 4+ tough is still a solid nut to crack thankfully.
The Vengers Ride by, Reckoner shoots, Reckoner shoots again with Ancillary, remaining Errants stab and Fire of Salvation swings around with his attacks of doom.

I lose three Boomhowlers. Four are knocked Down from repeated toughs. Kreoss goes for a Crevasse on a knocked down Boomhowler, I pass the tough roll again (He would have easily had a spray on two other models had I failed).

The Vassal Mechanik gets to Eiryss and misses, Choir Enlivens.

Merc 3: Galleon retains Hot Shot and gets super buffed (Three focus, Artillerist, Double Powder Rations, Magic Weapons from Aiyanna). Holt also pops two Errants.
Boomhowlers stand up and jam in, one dies to a Free Strike from Fire of Salvation to clear a drag lane.
Galleon hits the Objective with it's mini guns, rolls low shots and puts it on 3 health. Harpoon drags in Fire of Salvation. I move on to my next activation without buying two extra Melee attacks...
Bart runs to the left zone, Gun Mages try to ping the Objective, do two boxes between them all to leave it on one.
Alexia charges Fire of Salvation and burns most of the Risen to kill it, because wasteful exercise is best exercise. I forget to activate Eiryss.

Mercs go to 1 CP.

Glurgle. It's been to long since I played the Galleon outside MacBain, I default to it-ok-I'll-cast-Jackhammer-later-in-the-turn. Eiryss should have risked the MAT 5 freestrike to ping the Reckoner with Disruption.
As Chris Von Salt'n'Pepper pointed out I still gravitate to seeing which zone I can get away with and going for the score when I can. I don't think it's a terrible plan as such, but I only got away with it this time by an aggressive Bart Feat and lucky Tough Rolls stopping attempts at an Assassination/Scoring on the bottom of 2 by Jacob.

Menoth 3: Gravus knocks down a Boomhowler, Kreoss goes behind the wall and again fails to Crevasse due to tough rolls.
The Vengers clear off most of the Bboomhowlers, only one remains.
The Reckoner goes into the Galleon fully loaded, takes out the right arm.
Mechanik misses Eiyss, the battle of champions continues.

Merc 4: Aiyanna/Holt Harm and ping the Reckoner, Galleon shoots down the Objective and Errants in the zone, Boosts the to hit crippled Harpoon into the Reckoner, lands in, Hot Shot lets the Drag ping, bought attacks with the left arm mess the Reckoner up somewhat but leave it still alive, Alexia burns three Risen to finish it off.
The last Boomhowler cranks a damage roll and kills Venger.
Gun Mages/Taryn fluff around.
Bart runs from the left zone to the right zone to Dominate.

Mercs go to 4 CP.

Menoth 4: Vengers pop my Objective and engage Gun Mages/Gorman/Taryn. The Choir battle their equally puissant foes, the Risen. The pair of Risen struck pass their tough checks.
Kreoss Rides buys forward, attempts a Crevasse from the last Boomhowler. I pass the tough roll.
Gravus goes in swinging, kills Alexia and the Boomhowler.

Merc 5: Gun Mages shoot down the Choir, Galleon moves up to kill Gravus and the Vassal at the back of the zone for the win.

Me on the left.

The errors weren't as glaring as the last game, I rolled tough in statistically unlikely amounts.

Bart in Highborn isn't awful but he doesn't really do much, even less than when the armour stacked Galleon is around. Batten by itself didn't feel great when my jam was working so well, a Tinker would have been nice but I lived without.

Game 335 - Bart vs eLylth

The cardinal rule of getting stuff off Badge-Vest-Guy when its not a raffle: Remind him on the day.

Lacking the cards and being incapable when it comes to Warroom in games, I threw out my Cygnar models list with a Merc caster and Jack.

Bart - Galleon, Boomhowlers (Max), Gun Mages + The Dude, pAlexia + Risen, Aiyanna + Holt, Gorman, Dougal, eEiryss, Anastasia, Taryn, Piper
Objective: Armory

Bart in Highborn feels weird....

eLylth - Ravagore, Zuriel, Shredder, Bolt Thrower, Naga, Gobbers, 2x Forsaken, 2x Deathstalkers, Succubus, Shredder, Warspears + UA
Objective: Arcane Reckoning

Leeper tech has invaded.....

Some pre-warning, I played two games this night and did some hard numptying. Prepare to be underwhelmed...

Merc Deploy: I won the roll, picked first because Lylth and both sides had Linears anyway.
The Journeyman is Dougal.

Legion Deploy: Potatoism strikes again. Warspears on the left, Zuriel on the right, everything else between.

Merc 1: Hot Shot goes on the Galleon, everything runs up.

Legion 1: Deathstalkers knock down two Boomhowlers, the Gobbers cloud in the right zone, Lylth Shadowpacts because she is mean. Ravagore pops a Boomhowler, they I forgot to take him off the table until after the pic was taken.

Merc 2: Hot Shot sticks around, Boomhowlers tough and run way up, Galleon moves into the opposing zone and kills the Succubus/Shepherd. The Gun Mages move up, they kill the first Deathstalker easily, then they miss the other Deathstalker with four shots.
Bart runs and hides behind the Galleon, Anastasia engages Zuriel to be mean, Eiryss movesup on the right flank for giggles.
So.....I missed a pair of the Gun Mages and didn't move them up, Gorman is way on the left to run and contest my friendly zone because wasting Gorman activations is a tops move.

Legion 2: Lylth feats, Pincushions the Galleon, walks back a bit and misses Taryn twice before killing her. Woot woot. The War Spears maul a few of the Boomhowlers, the Gobbers try to stab Anastasia for reasons. The Ravagore, Bolt Thrower and Naga ping the Galleon, taking out most of the left side. Zuriel charges in, leaves the Galleon on three health, Cortex and Right arm still truckin.

Merc 3: Galleon kills the Objective and shoots Zuriel for a few damage. Aiyanna/Holt Harm the Spears and kill one. Eiryss moves in, misses Lylth who Dodges back a bit. Gun Mages move up and shoot down the shredder. Anastasia Esponiages, Gun Mages kill the Swamp Gobbers and fail to hit the Deathstalker, other stuff moves up, Eiryss misses Lylth again.
Dougal sighs at my stupidity, moves up and kills a Gun Mage with his bomb.
Alexia charges through the now clear charge lane to kill Zuriel.
Boomies (Three to go!) jam in, pass terror and abom checks.

I go to 2 CP.

Legion 3: Warspears kill Aiyanna and Greygore, units pass their checks. Forsaken goes into the far right Boomie. Remaining pair of Boomhowlers pass two or three tough checks each to survive.
Ravagore kills the Galleon. Bolt Thrower crits Alexia, knocking her down and doing three points. Naga runs into the right zone to contest. Lylth kills Anastasia and Eiryss.

Merc 4: Just need to clear the Naga and block up the Ravagore, then I'll go to 4 and be a turn/zone clear away for the win. I forget that Gun Mages ignore stealth, so they walk up towards the Naga, pepper it with Crit Brutals, none of them Crit but I do some damage. Risen go into it, they do nothing, a Thrall is spawned by Alexia, charges and does some points. Bart walks around the wreck then back into it, sprays at the Naga and misses, feats. Boomies stand up, the new leader kills the Forsaken that pummelled him. Holt kills a Warspear.

Legion 4: Naga frenzies and knocks down a Risen. Warspears kill Holt and engage Aiyanna. Ravagore and Lylth kill all the Gun Mages, Bolt Thrower kills Alexia.

Round 5/6: Both of us under 15 minutes. Risen run up and engage the Ravagore while tough, Bart finally kills the damn Naga. Mercs go to 4 CP.

Legion kills off Gorman, Piper and Dougal and do a couple points to Bart.

Russelzon has 40 seconds on his clock, so Bart just full camps and goes to the far end of the wreck Marker.

Ravagore Frenzies, kills a Risen, I win on clock.

Me on the left.

What a derpfest from me, if not for the early Fury Management mitigation and Russ' tank time I would have gone down quick smart.

Gun Mages ignore stealth, Shadowpact gives Stealth against everything else, Bart having to run to be behind the Galleon early on, blocking my own charge lanes with Esponiage moves, it was just all bad.

Game 334 - Dr Arkadius vs Harbinger

To my amazement my wife wasn't murderous about a third day with some Warmachine, so Monday BATTLE!

Into Chris-you-have-a-call-from-AWA, I'd been busy and not finished painting my Squire or Lancer which was my lame excuse for throwing down Non-Croak-Raiders Minions.

Rolled up Two Fronts, in that convenient half of the scenarios I can actually remember the spacing measurements for.

Dr Ark Tier! - You now it by now yeah? Two of every beast + RaBo's + Targ + Grinders
Objective: Arcane Wonder

Theoretically paired with Jaga Jaga, out of Harby/Reclaimer the prophet side of the twin nutjobs appears.

Harbinger - Avatar, Reckoner, Devout, Vilmon, Daughters, Wracks, Choir, 2x Vassals, the Book, Piper, Errants + UA
Objective: Bunker

Pig Deploy: Behold the V formation! Lead on Red Baron! I won the die roll, picked first so I could get up to places and have the option of drawing back on Harbies feat turn.

Menoth Deploy: Those religious people. But faith is no barrier to enjoying the rocking tunes that is the Pipers pipe.

Pig 1: The V flies forward, Aggresion goes up and Forced Evo is on the left Road Hog.

Menoth 1: To my surprise  Menoth swings to the left and stays back, the Daughters as a blocking screen while being in Martyodom range. Vilmon marches on a solo mission toward the right zone, entering his lame "Can't touch this" stance.

Pig 2: So now I get to actual decision points to make. If I feat, it'll only be to get Flame thrower attacks and bonus RaBo jam, which isn't great. Ideally I'd like to pop my feat to Alpha the heavies, but Chris hasn't given me that option.
I decide to go for an aggressive scenario play from here, I can't pop the objective so I need to hem him into the corner he's selected and get stuff to the right Objective to kill next turn. The Reckoner can be killed even by a Gorax, the Avatar likely by a pair of lights or a War Hog with the armour cracking I have, it's the infantry that I need to keep back as a lot of infantry clearing options after the Road Hogs die has fallen back on try to use Slam and throw power attacks with my lights.

To that end, the RaBo's and the Road Hogs all go up on feat moves/attacks, some of the other beasts advance but don't go up as far.
The RaBo's fail to do much, which lines up with my expectations. One Gun Boar moves up on a whim, misses the Book and gets the best scatter ever to land on Pipers head. I boost damage and leave him on one wound, reasonable on the dice required but still disappointing.
The spray Hogs go in, they do disappointingly little, popping a Vassal and a Choir chump.
Everything else keeps back.

Menoth 2: The Errants fuddle around, killing a couple RaBos. The Daughters pop the Mind of the forward Gun Boar, the Avatar/Reckoner pop a Road Hog each, Harbinger doesn't really move and feats. Vilmon gets into the right zone and does nana dance.

Pig 3: Everything went better than expected, the Gun Boar surviving is gravy, the plan continues unchanged.
The right War Hog easily kills the Objective, the RaBo engaging Vilmon moves away and dies to a freestrike, Arkadius does two fully boosted Primal Shocks with a Maltreat to pop Vilmon. Right zone clear done!
The back Gunboar shoots the front iteration to kill some Daughters, the Gorax' move to the right zone for throw/slams as needed.
The Grinders Sprint the left War Hog who goes and kills a daughter, takes feat damage and walks back.

Pigs go to 3 CP.

That last War Hog activation was a mistake, Chris had mentioned there was "Menoth Casters just die" thing going on in his head, either the daughter pops and I sprint back or he Martyrs three times, but really all I was doing was putting my War Hog in a spot to get killed. Speed 4 Sprint doesn't do much, I should have kept him back and had two Heavies to clear the right zone if I needed.

Menoth 3: Harby throws out Crusaders calls and loads the Reckoner. The Errants pop the last two blocking RaBo's and ding the Gun Boar a little, they take off half the health of the Objective. The remaining pair of Daughters confuse Arkadius for Patrick Stuart and run up to him to shake his hand. The Avatar gets into the War Hog I was stupid with, easily wiping it off the ground and putting up Gaze.
The Reckoning Assaults into my other Pig, rolls appallingly on the to hit rolls and only take out the Mind and half the body (Missed the Assault shot, the charge attack and one of the two buys).

Pig 4: Everything was going to plan, aside from the Daughters which weren't a serious issue and Gaze of Menoth, which was.
I had to kill the Daughters and the Reckoner to win. Arkadius activated, he cast Psycho Surgery and rolls max heal, then boosts some attack rolls to kill both Daughters, then he puts Forced Evo on the War Hog. War Hog Aggression Dials and pastes the Reckoner.

Had the War Hog dies, I'd have needed to put Forced Evo on the forward Gorax, Primal him and Crippling Grasp the Reckoner, then have the Gun Boar and other Gorax pop the Daughters. Trickier but doable (The Gorax, after Primaling his Brother, would have thrown a Bone Grinder into a Daughter while another Grinder went to a good spot for the Gun Boar to shoot and hit with Blast damage.).

Think we both had about 20ish minutes at the end. Happy with my tactical choices here, I think if Harby is more aggressive and pushes scenario hard bottom of two I'm in strife, infantry jam can be a problem for me. This might be one of those weird times the Errants would be better off shielding the Daughters...

Did some poor play etiquette on Harby feat turn, move the Grinders and was comfortable they were out of feat when it was much closer than I thought, will have to bear that in mind (20 inch control area is nonsense I declare! Nonsense!)

Wintercon Who's the Boss!

Now that the Masters taste test was done, we moved to the true test of skill at Wintercon.

Who's the Boss!

I'd struggled to put together a list I liked, so I lazily cribbed one off a forum post. Looking at the after event photos I think someone else had the list that day, so it appears the original list creator was there and I had no clue (and you know, better painting, the side benefit of the potato camera is my paint jobs are rendered somewhat less visible).

The Boss! + 5
Fun Breaker, Nyss, Harlen, eEiryss, Dougal, Thor, Gorman

Round 1: Southies Revenge!

Southie, fresh off his dice giving away Vyross yesterday, returns with Sentinels, Imperatus, MHSF and eEiryss.

I get pMorghoul. He gets Butcher 3.

This looks bad.

Turns out it is. The Nyss try to jam and die in droves, but I work out my best chance is to knock down Butcher and Imperatus under feat then try to wrangle an assassination. I damage the Myrmidon jerk early, but get super greedy and have Thor boost damage instead of attack rolls, so I my KNock down torpedoes miss both Imperatus and Butcher, but the mini guns do enough to kill Imperatus and restore his lost systems with Phoenix Protocol. Morghoul tries to kill off the Sentinels for some points, but I miss the Soulless escort waaaay up the back.

Morghoul turned into a fine smear.

Round 2, the long lost Tim for his yearly weekend of games!

For there must be armies you can see in darkest night.

pMadrak rocks up for me. He rolled Haley 2.

Blergh.

Rocking the Searforge (Braver man than I) Driller, Basher, Gunner, Highshields with UA, Hammer Dwarves, Bokor, Thor

I go first and run up, then feel sad when Haley feats. Sure Foot on the Funbreaker was nice and kept the Nyss alive as the Hammerdwarves get the alpha with Haleys feat (The latter being a nice, casual explanation for the nonsense that is the former half of that statement). While on Haleys feat turn I did manage to knock junk down, Disrupt the Bonded Driller and kill Thor.

When I got my next real turn, Madrak feated away, walked in, killed 15 models including the Bokor to get LoS and stop the Shield Guard, then Earthbreaker went in and pew pewed Haley to death.

Funbreaker!

Round three, into the Brian of Sydney Troll land.

Sweet sweet Amon for me (Synergy for +1! The possibilities!). He got Lylth 2.

Thankfully his list wasn't a good feat really, with Mulg, Warders, Stone and potentially the best shooting Pyro to ever be.

I cast Mobility and charged Amon up, Earthbreaker behind.

Brian goes for it, Lylth feats and moves up, misses the Pincushion on Amon (50/50), burns his Fury to do eight points with his shots, then tries to scatter witht he Pyro and not succeed. Nyss move up, CRA Lylth for a bit, then Fun breaker mvoes up with Mobility and pew pews her to death.

Funbreaker! The lols of Who's the Boss is mighty. Likely won't take the Funbreaker again, will definitely not take Nyss because I evidently suck with them (So, so hard....)

Game 333 - Gorten vs eVyross

Gorten - Earthbreaker, Hawk, Madelyn, Anastasia, Rhupert, Gorman, Thor, Reinholdt, ATGM + UA, 2x Press Gangers, pAlexia + Risen
Specialists - Pendrake, Bokur, Ragman, Alten, Tinker, Basher, pEiryss
Objective - Effigy of Valor

MacBain - Galleon, Sylyss, Buccaneer, Orin, Dougal, eEiryss, eAlexia, Grogspar, TAC, Aiyanna + Holt, 2x Press Gangers
Specialists - Tinker, Bokur, Rockbottom, Kayazy Assassins + UA, Devil's Shadow Mutineers
Objective - Effigy of Valor

Final Round of ye old Wintercon, time to try to salvage a 2-2 record.

Mordors favourite Southron is rocking Ret ADR, eVyross and Ossyran on Close Quarters.

I drop Gorten, to my surprise I get Vyross.

I swap out Hawk and Reinholdt and bring in pEiryss, Southie trades out Sentinels with UA and something to get Imperatus in.

eVyross - Imperatus, Aspis, 2x Arcanist, Sentinels, Destor Thane, 6 Griffons

The long term plan was to feat then use the Earthbreaker knock down, pEiryss shot and gun mages to stop any focus generation while threatening a slow grind scenario win.

Merc Deploy: Win the roll, pick first to enable the scenario grind.

Ret Deploy: THE JACKS! ALL THE JACKS!

Merc 1: All my junk runs up.

Ret 1: Synergy/Deflection up, the Sentinels go in and maul a few Press Gangers.

Merc 2: Gorten gets to my friendly flag, throws up a wall. Press Gangers and Gun Mages ping off Sentinels, tough Risen swarm around. Earthbreaker knocks down three Griffons and Imperatus.

Ret 2: Southie decides to go for it. A Griffon gets focus, the knock down ones stand up. Synergy easily builds up off Risen/Press Gangers, but Imperatus can't quite get where he needs to for clearance. One Griffon with three focus is in walk range of Gorten at Synergy +6 provided Vyross can pop the Risen blocking the lane.

He snake eyes it.

Merc 3: Gorten drags Vyross in, Earthbreaker pew pews, but rolls minimal shots and doesn't kill him. Alexia goes in with about fifteen Risen, burns a couple to get it done.

Me on the right.

Southies Masters was apparently that all day, but he gets another chance at the dubious honor of playing me at Who's the Boss.

Had four games I thoroughly enjoyed, so Masters success :-)

Game 332 - MacBain vs eKrueger

Gorten - Earthbreaker, Hawk, Madelyn, Anastasia, Rhupert, Gorman, Thor, Reinholdt, ATGM + UA, 2x Press Gangers, pAlexia + Risen
Specialists - Pendrake, Bokur, Ragman, Alten, Tinker, Basher, pEiryss
Objective - Effigy of Valor

MacBain - Galleon, Sylyss, Buccaneer, Orin, Dougal, eEiryss, eAlexia, Grogspar, TAC, Aiyanna + Holt, 2x Press Gangers
Specialists - Tinker, Bokur, Rockbottom, Kayazy Assassins + UA, Devil's Shadow Mutineers
Objective - Effigy of Valor

Enter Round 3: Brought to you by Shia Labeouf (Damn him!)

The masters wasn't maxed out due to the usual last minute drop outs (Real life must have it's victims), so the cut to the top 4 would have someone that would go 3-1. Loud Chris would have a good strength of schedule in all likelihood, so if I could win the next two I might have a skerrick of a chance.

I really only wanted to avoid one matchup: Competent Circle.

Now the reason I have an issue with the bloke that likes to wear paper bags.

Mooquine went down because JUST DO IT, taking an assassination instead of a more likely scenario win (Presumably soon to be retold on OzMachine. Possibly on how to control your Labeoufing).

Whining aside, its eKrueger and eKromac.

Gorten is hampered by shifting stones, MacBain is countered by Gallows Groves. Both lists had double stones, Krueger only had one Grove, so Mustache man it is. I'd actually played James in a eKrueger vs Gorten match and gotten of a great feat because he didn't place his stones where he should, he wasn't going to do that in a tourney game.

Destruction is the scenario, as expected eKrueger drops.

eKrueger - Ghetorix, Stalker, Gorax, Una + Griffon, Wilder, Stones + UA, Stones, Groves, Druids + UA, some-unpainted-schlubs-that-won't-matter
Objective: Fuel

For ADR I swap out Aiyanna/Holt for the Bokur/Tinker, the problem is hitting Circle junk, not killing it once you do.

I know, Potato photos.

Merc Deploy: Won the die roll, went first because I have some common sense, if not a lot. Krueger is hard enough without him getting even more board position on you.

Circle Deploy: The evil hippy brigade. Note the Blood Weavers on the right flank. Una and the Rotterhorn are chilling on the left.

Merc 1: My opening quandary. If I don't run up as far as possible, I surrender the advantage I gained by going first and make it to easy for Krueger to bully the table. If I do, stuff of mine will die. This is a grit the teeth turn, though I think I did run the most forward line to far, though I would still have needed to spread because of the devouring the Druids will throw out.

It all moves up, the Buccaneer goes to the far right, eEiryss and Alexia go tot the left. Fortune pops on the Galleon, everything else moves up.

The intent for those flank pieces is to be out of Kruegers feat range to run into the zone if I lose too much in the centre, MacBain! has moved to shelter in a forest and be in range to walk back into the Kill box (Ever had to run to get out of a KillBox? It's super bad).

Circle 1: I love that the Circle photos are getting worse each shot.
The Druids Cloud wall, the heavies and stones place for teleports, the Blood Weavers skirmish out on the right.
Krueger flies up and Stormwalls.
Between an arced Lighting from the Gallows, a Devouring and Una being a psychotic bird mongering line of sight ignoring tree hugger of death half a dozen Press Gangers die.

Merc 2: Simple plan, feat, jam zone, use Galleon to kill the Grove and fuel Alexia so Thralls can crack zones.
The Press Gangers jam in, Galleon goes in and my plan falls apart. I'd calculated for STorm Wall reducing my range, but lapsed on it screwing with AoE directions, so ARtillerist was nullifed. The Grove was now beyond my means, as I needed to go for a model a few inches to the Groves right and strategically reroll for the right direction.
The Druids also prove to difficult, I only pop one to fuel Alexia.
I still feat, then MacBain hides and puts Failsafe on the Galleon. I run various solos around, hoping to stop more than one Heavy getting to said Colossal so that I can eek out a Heavy Trade attrition win.
Alexia pops a Thrall, who gets a tricky line to a Stealth Stone but leaves it on two boxes (-8 on four dice, I'd be very happy with two Thralls, but only one predictably doesn't do it).

Circle 2: Gallows Grove ports in to stop feat. Una and a sprinting Ghetorix clear the zone, with some clouds out as well. The Weavers move up on the right and kill most of the right unit of Press Gangers.
Stalker ports forward, kills the Objective and Sprints back. Krueger Storm Walls and feats on everything bar the Tinker, Bucaneer and Eiryss.

Circle goes to 2.

Moops could be on 3, but he kept Krueger back. If he doesn't and toes the zone I have a slight chance of MacBain doing a need-to-fluke-dice-rolls-like-a-god assassination (Energizer, charge, Grievous wounds on his melee). Given what the Blood Weavers end up doing, in hindsight I think he was right here, which lends my statement of him making a mistake rather painful to remember...

Merc 3: The plan is simple. I have a line on the Gorax, if I pop him and get the Galleon in the zone with Failsafe he only needs a box to survive in fully functioning format, then he can Heabutt one down, Buccaneer can Assault to knock down the other and I can Jack Hammer them dead, though needing higher than average rolls.

I put it into action, Galleon manages to shoot down the Gorax, my last few infantry putz around.

Circle 3: Did you know Blood Weavers can Dispel? I sure know now.
Blood Weavers charge Galleon, get rid of Failsafe and do about 10 damage themselves. Ghetorix, Una then Kruegers gun finish it off no worries. The Rotterhorn pops Alexia.
Druids punch out Grogspar to clear the zone.

Circle go to 3 CP.

Merc 4: I have no means to get to Krueger, so its time to try some funky stuff for giggles.
Tinekr runs to the end of the line of Weavers, Buccaneer Energizes back a bit from MacBain, then slams Tinker to kill all but one of the weavers.
I run some pieces into the zone.

Circle 4: Krueger man modes for the finish.

Me on the right.

I needed to do something about the Weavers in hindsight. Looking at it probably the best way would be to send Alexia in. Moops will put them under the Counter Magic bubble, but she can still nab souls and buy attacks, sadly Krueger stops the potential terror checks. Galleon should have run to toe the zone then had three layers of infantry in front with various feat models. Gallows will ensure the front rank dies off anyway, but if I scatter the tokens said Grove can't port to clear landing zones around the Galleon and Orin, played further up behind him, can Null Magic to make it tricker for the Druids to clear it.

Una is still horrible.
