Game 323 - MacBain vs Cyphon

Random Monday pick ups, into my fellow Mercs piloted by the Shepherd that is Rob.

He had Ossrum and Cyphon, then asked for my preference. I went with the underground alienesque things as I had yet to play against them.

MacBain - Galleon, Sylyss, Buccaneer, Orin, Dougal, eEiryss, eAlexia, Grogspar, TAC, Aiyanna + Holt, 2x Press Gangers
Objective - Effigy of Valor

Cyphon (Tier 4) - 2x Wardens, Wrecker, Subduer, 3 Agitators, Drudges. So many Drudges. Drudges for weeks. Months. Years. An unceasing wave.
Objective: Arcane Wonder

If Rob read this thread ever, he'd chuckle at how many more Drudges he could fit in if he wanted to...

Fire Support with no clock, been quite a while since I've done an unclocked game.

Ceph Deploy: I won the roll, picked the side with less troublesome terrain and a juicy hill. Pic is mid-Monstrosity advance move, left to right the Monstrosities are Wrecker, Warden, Subduer, Warden.

Merc Deploy: Stuff! I wasn't sure about where to plonk Eiryss, I ended up putting her smack in the middle so I could run her where needed later on.

Ceph 1: THEY'RE COMING RIGHT FOR US! Onslaught on Cyphon, Perseverance on the Wrecker.
The Wrecker goes on a mental tangent. Truly, if Perseverance is a quality that can be granted to myself at a whim, what value then is there is self determination for all?

Merc 1: No allocates.
MacBain feats on Grogspar, Alexia and a split amount from each Press Ganger unit. He then walks forward a few inches and Rob starts tormenting me with the prospect of a 23 inch drag threat on the Gallows Grove. Fail Safe goes on the Galleon, Counter Measures on the Smurfs.
Dougal Artillerists and mini-feats.
Alexia rides up to be behind the left flag.
Eiryss tries to knock Perseverance off the Wrecker, Warden Shield Guards it. I now know that Wardens have Shield Guard.
Galleon moves up, rolls a high number of shots, kills an Agitator and a few Drudges, Alexia gets two souls.
Press Gangers jam, a forward feated on line and a back up reserve line. Support stuff chills in the back.

Ceph 2: Perseverance upkept, Onslaught dropped. One focus to the left Warden (My left).
Warden with a focus walks around, tries to double handed throw the feated Press Ganger blocking Drudges getting past the Obstacle, misses.
Cyphon hangs in the trench, puts Breath Stealer on the left unit of Commies.
An Adrenal Surged Drudge gets to Alexia and knocks her down with one hit point.
The Drudge waves continue heading for the Merc shores.

Merc 2: Three focus to Galleon, Failsafe upkept for free, Counter Measures upkept because I might as well. Two to Buccaneer.
Artillerist away! The Iron Kingdoms is actually Dougals hell, wherein he is slowly driven mad by doing the same thing over and over and over and over.....
Galleon moves up, starts pew pewing the Warden on the left flank (given he'll just shield Guard the Wrecker, might as well try to pop him). I roll a good number of mini-shots, though the Harpoon is out of range (also misses a Drudge alas). Blast kills the Commie Bagman and a Drudge. Boosting the damage, the Warden cops a fair bit.
TAC move, back one clouds, front pair Flameburst the Warden, do some more damage and set it and the Wrecker on fire.
Commies walk up a bit, they kill a few Drudges, one of which wasn't ganged so feeds a soul to Alexia.
Witchfire chick tells her unicorn to stand up, then drops three Minions. Pair of Thralls finish off the Warden.
Eiryss aims, knocks Perseverance off the Wrecker.
Last Thrall charges the Wrecker, does not much.
Aiyanna/Holt Harm the Warden on the right. Smurfs wriggle around, kill a drudge and jam the Monstrosities.
Buccaneer assaults and knocks down the remaining Warden.
Orin moves up on the hill toeing the cloud, casts Null Magic.

Ceph 3: Wrecker gets three focus. Cyphon moves over to the left, Empathic Overloads a Drudge to clear a lane for the Wrecker and feats.
Drudges advance, multiple sprays kill Grogspar and various Press Gangers.
Wrecker goes into the Galleon, takes out most of the left side, beat backs around to get a TAC member as well.
Subduer stays stuck on a Smurf that doesn't want to die. Drudges arc sprays to clear the Smurfs off the Warden, who advances and gives a firm handshake to the Buccaneer.

Merc 3: Cyphon is clear in the open, but once again I've left Eiryss just within Interference range of the Galleon. Got to stop doing that...
MacBain keeps it all. He casts Fortune on the Galleon, then Jackhammers to leave the Wrecker on five boxes.
TAC charge Wrecker and finish it off, Battle Wizard a cloud.
Galleon advances as far as it can, rolls up minimal shots so can't really kill Cyphon. Kills another Agitator instead.
Between Aiyanna Harm/Holt, Buccaneer and a pair of charging Smurfs the last Warden drops.
The last few Gangers scrabble around.
Orin Null Magics again.

Ceph 4: Cyphon throws out two Empathic Overloads, first one killing Aiyanna/Holt and the Smurfs that finished off the Warden, second one fails to kill Orin and the last TAC.
Drudges all move up, a pair of Adrenal Surged ones get to the Galleon and leave it one box on the left side. They also finish off the Commies and leave only a handful of Smurfs left.

We call it at this point, neither of us are particularly alive at this point (Mondayitus....) and someone should have lost on clock 20 minutes ago at the speed we had been going.
End call at the time was the Galleon kills everything, MacBain hides behind it and puts Failsafe back on, then the game grinds out with the Galleon eventually left standing against a barren wasteland.
Not sold on Cephalyx myself, Drudges just aren't what I like at this point. If a 6+ Monstrosity list becomes viable I might get interested.

Game 322 - Gorten vs Kallus Round 3 of 3 Local

Allrighty, final round of the tourney, another last game before he leaves match with the Martydon.

Bit of rickroll for this one unfortuantely.

Destruction, I'm locked into Gorten, Marty has Kallus/eAbby.

Gorten - Earthbreaker, Hawk, Madelyn, Anastasia, Rhupert, Gorman, Thor, Reinholdt, ATGM + UA, 2x Press Gangers, pAlexia + Risen
Specialists - Pendrake, Bokur, Ragman, Alten, Tinker, Nyss (Max)
Objective - Effigy of Valor

He drops Kallus, which lacks Serpentine Beasts so I don't ADR Pendrake/Alten as I was expecting for Legion matches.

Kallus - Ravagore, Scythean, Shredder, Succubus, Shepherd, Ogrun War Spear, Ogrun Warmongers, Legionnaires + UA, Deathstalker
Objective Effigy of Valor

Not going to turn by turn this one. Legion run up, Mercs run up, Legion move up and Ravagore Alexia to death, Bottom of 2 the Earthrbeaker kills the Objective and knocks down the heavies, Gorman blinds the heavies, Gorten feats back all but three models and Mercs go to 3 CP, Marty concedes as the only thing he can get in the zone is the Abbott which we roll out as being easily killed by a fully loaded Tuned up Earthbreaker.

Textbook Gorten yay?

Game 321 - MacBain vs eVyross Round 2 of 3 Local

Round 2, return of the Hoopax from the land of Milk and Honey that is Albury (So more Tumbleweeds and Highway traffic really).

Gorten - Earthbreaker, Hawk, Madelyn, Anastasia, Rhupert, Gorman, Thor, Reinholdt, ATGM + UA, 2x Press Gangers, pAlexia + Risen
Specialists - Pendrake, Bokur, Ragman, Alten, Tinker, Nyss (Max)
Objective - Effigy of Valor

MacBain - Galleon, Sylyss, Buccaneer, Orin, Dougal, eEiryss, eAlexia, Grogspar, TAC, Aiyanna + Holt, 2x Press Gangers
Specialists - Tinker, Bokur, Rockbottom, Kayazy Assassins + UA, Devil's Shadow Mutineers
Objective - Effigy of Valor

Having at last decided to scoop on the sado-masochist Tyrants of the east, angry Elves swarm forth.

It's Rahn and eVyross eviltude, scenario is two fronts.

This is an awkward list chicken for me. Gorten loves Vyross, but at the time I was convinced Rahn would easily get to him and pop him. MacBain! has Orin, feat to keep him alive while I kill the Arc Node and Strike force.

Going with the less bad matchup, Mustachio ended up into SUPER MEGA GRIFFIN SPAM.

eVyross - 3x Aspiss, NINE FREAKING GRIFFINS, 2x Arcanist, eEiryss, MHA (two points which will be Lanyssa one day, making me even sadder)
Objective: Fuel

ADR Out: Buccaneer
ADR In: Bokur

Ret Deploy: Hoopster wins the die roll, takes first. I take the side without an irritating rough terrain piece in front of it, though it was a relatively open table in the centre. Vyross starts surrounded by the Aspises.

Merc Deploy: This was the point I realised I should have dropped Alexia, retained the Buccaneer and added the Tinker.

Ret 1: No Jacks played in warmachine aye?
Synergy goes up, jacks run up.
MHA goes on the hill on the left.

Merc 1: MacBain feats on Grogspar and Press Gangers, Fortune goes on the Galleon.
Pirates run up to try to choke the left zone.
Alexia goes far left.
Galleon runs up, support junk hides behind it.

Ret 2: Synergy upkept.
MHA charges Alexia, misses.
Aspis beatbacks into the zone, three Griffons go into the left side, four go to the right zone. Vyross hides up the back.

Merc 2: Fortune upkept. Galleon gets a focus.
Eiryss moves up, misses MHA due to stealth.
Smurfs take out the Aspis Generator. Commies take out the right Objective.
Grogspar charges a Griffin, misses.
Galleon moves up, pings Vyross for a little damage.
Alexia ride by attacks, Hellfires the MHA to death, goes up to the hill.
MacBain puts Failsafe on the Galleon.

Mercs go to 1 CP.

Initially I adjusted Eiryss to take into account Stealth after rolling the attack. Don't do that. No takebacks in tourneys dammit.
My plan had been to run the Galleon to the top of the left zone and Jackhammer the two Griffons and Aspis dead, but that was contingent on Grogspar hitting with his Pitch attack to get rid of the fourth jack in the zone.

Ret 3: Synergy upkept. Vyross keeps two focus and hands the rest out.
Griffons kill all the Commies and Grogspar. Vyross toes the right zone.

Ret go to 1 CP.

Merc 3: I knock Eiryss over when measuring Arcane Interference, so assumed she was in and allocate nothing.
Dougal Artillerists, Galleon pings Vyross for a little bit more. Support junk runs in front of the Galleon.
Smurfs actually down a Griffon.
Alexia rides up, Hellfires an Arcanist to death.

Ret 4: Synergy hangs around, Vyross camps two.
Griffons surge forward, kill the blocking support staff. Left Griffons kill all the Smurfs.

Ret go to 2 CP.

Merc 4: Galleon gets three focus.
MacBain gives Galleon Fortune.
Galleon advances with Artillerist, shoots at Vyross, gets him down to eight health.
Last TAC misses a flameburst on Vyross.
Orin tries to lightning Alexia to kill Eiryss, Whiplash ends up killing him.
Alexia rides up, plonks down two Thralls.
First charges in, hits the 9, rolls no damage.
Second goes for the 4% assassination. Rolls the 9 to hit. rolls 22 on the damage dice for the kill.

Undeserved victory!

It cannot be understated how much I didn't earn this win, Hooper just needed to engage Alexia with a spare Griffin and that likely would have been it.

Mercs on the left.

I thought this was the less bad match up, that appears to have been dreadfully wrong. Dojoing Gorten into Rahn, careful wall/Earthbreaker placement maybe?

Game 320 - MacBain vs uButcher, round 1 of 3 local

Had a small six man tourney, double Legion, Ret, Circle, Khador and ye good old Mercs. Three rounds, DC 1, no theme forces. I'm not sure about the format, but I'll articulate that after spewing some of this junk out to avoid thinking about the revolution going on in my guts.

Got a proper try out of season 2 ADR, good to try to work out the kinks.

Gorten - Earthbreaker, Hawk, Madelyn, Anastasia, Rhupert, Gorman, Thor, Reinholdt, ATGM + UA, 2x Press Gangers, pAlexia + Risen
Specialists - Pendrake, Bokur, Ragman, Alten, Tinker, Nyss (Max)
Objective - Effigy of Valor

MacBain - Galleon, Sylyss, Buccaneer, Orin, Dougal, eEiryss, eAlexia, Grogspar, TAC, Aiyanna + Holt, 2x Press Gangers
Specialists - Tinker, Bokur, Rockbottom, Kayazy Assassins + UA, Devil's Shadow Mutineers
Objective - Effigy of Valor

Round 1, Incoming versus Edwarster with 3Vlad and uButcher.
As always MacBain toddles out, Butcher plonks against. I think I'll throw a different list together just so next time we play Ed doesn't see Mustachio for the 30th time.

Here's the weird mini game: Silence of Death cancels MacBains feat, which is countered by Orin using Null Magic and Eiryss removing the initial casting.

ADR changes:
Out: Press Gangers, Grogspar
In: Kayazy + UA, DSM

Basic theory was that the Gangers would die in droves against Pikemen with SoD, whereas the Khador list lacks to hit buffs outside of CMA's.

uButcher + Puppies - 2x Juggernaughts, Doge, 2x IFP + BD UA, 2x IFP Kovnik, Ternion, Bokur, Orin, Widowmakers, Saxon
Objective: Arcane maybe?

Khador Deploy: Ed wins the die roll, goes first. I pick the lazy side, terrain not being hugely favourable.

Merc Deploy: That sure is stuff.

Khador 1: Everything moves up, SoD goes on the Pikemen to my left, various clouds go out.

Merc 1: Two the Galleon.
Galleon gets Fortune, Kayazy get Counter Measures due to having no reason not to.
Support models all bunch up behind the Objective, Dougal ARtillerists Galleon and mini-feats.
Alexia runs up in soul collection range, also a hopeful bait for an Energizer Jugger to try to go into her.
Galleon moves up, kills a few of the right Black Dragons, the right side IFP Kovnik and a pair of the Widowmakers.
Orin Null Magics just in case.

Khador 2: SoD upkept, both Pikemen units go into their respective zone, they both pop Iron Zeal. Widowmakers line up shots on Orin, both miss due to the Effigy providing Cover. Juggers and a dog get clouds and stand in front of Butcher.

Merc 2: Fortune upkept, one to the Galleon.
The Plan: Kill the two IFP on the right zone blocking the Galleon, have Colossal run up to the Juggers after Harming one, Jackhammer to mess them up and an place Orin/MacBain/Eiryss/Buccaneer to kill Butcher if he kills my big jack.
Kayazy minifeat, kill the left IFP Kovnik.
Eiryss knocks off SoD.
The TAC hit the IFP but fail to break armour, Alexia ride by attacks in, boosted attacks all fail to kill the the IFP, I leave her flapping in the wind.
Solos/small units all flub around, Orin Null Magics.
Galleon moves around, shoots down an IFP.
MacBain feats, prays that things start looking up. Feat targets are Orin, Alexia, Zira, Aiyanna, the Kayazy in range.

Khador 3: Armless Juggergets a focus, red Jugger gets three focus.
Butcher walks back, puts SoD on the right Jack, feats focus back.
Left Jugger goes into Orin, knocks him down. Red Jugger hits Alexia with a fist for four, misses the axe attacks.
Right IFP finish off Alexia.
Left IFP kill unfeated Kayazy.

Khador go to 2 CP.

Merc 3: Fortune upkept, two to the Galleon. Bokur is to far away from Butcher to Shield Guard, so kill Butcher plan is go.
Galleon moves up, blasts kill an Argus and an IFP to allow the drag, boosted harpoon shot on Butcher misses. Fortune re-roll misses.

Bugger.

Kayazy kill a few of the IFP and a Widowmaker in the left zone.
Morland/Zira bounce off the left Jugger.
TAC cloud up to protect the Objective.
Sylyss sobs at what is going to happen to him, runs into the right zone.
Orin Null Magics, back field solos fuddle around.
MacBain Jackhammers the left arm onto the Red Jugger, takes out Movement and left arm.

Khador 4: Sylyss died to something. REd Jugger, Bokur then Butcher spending four focus kills the Galleon.
Left IFP kill all but one Kayazy.

Khador go to 4 CP.

Merc 4: Buccaneer gets two.
Buccaneer assault Butcher, misses with the net.
I push some things around, Mar engages Butcher.
MacBain Energizes forward a bit, charges Butcher, fails to hit with an attack.

I concede at that point, my clock is much higher but Ed still has about 7 minutes to kill Mar and win.

Overall I'm happy with my plans, though the execution got bungled up.

My turn 2 wouldn't have been stymied by armour 18 IFP on the right had I put Harm on them, but if I don't have the damage buff on a Khador Jack I'm much less likely to take out the Cortex/Right arm on both of them, which is the best case scenario.
Eiryss also ended up to far to the left, should have moved her more centrally in turn 1, likewise with Orin (Who had no reason not go Stealthy in turn 1).
While I'm certain the DSM are great, this tourney was the last chance for me to get good use out of them, otherwise Saxon/Kell will go back in as pieces I know how to use.
The turn 3 drag Butcher plan in was definitely a riskier proposition than I'd like, but Ed could have stopped it had his Bokor been half an inch back anyway, had Zira been nearby she could have tried to pop him first.

Oh well, Another Biter of the Dust was I, further rounds await!

Game 319 - MacBain vs Kallus

Sniped in early on Monday for a game against Marty before he leaves from the blessed, cool capital to the land where they fix straight bananas.

Legion strikes!

So....Marty at some point threw out that he was going Lylth2, my sleep dep brain didn't recognise the joke sequence and I ADR'ed for Lylth. It was legion anyway and I'm trying out the DSM, so it all worked out in the end.

MacBain! - Galleon, Buccaneer, Silly Wishnailer, eEiryss, 2x Press Gangers, Grogspar, Orin, Bokur, Devil's Shadow Mutineers, Dougal,  eAlexia, Rockbottom
Objective: Effigy of Valor

Out:Tinker, Aiyanna + Holt, TAC
In: Bokur, DSM, Rockbottom

Reasoned that Failsafe means I can live without a repair monkey, Aiyanna + Holt aren't needed until Leepers sweet Feralgeist tech does the rounds, TAC sadly fall into the gaping maw of rules Legion ignores for the most part.

So anyway, Lylth is actually Kallus paired with eThuglife. Smashing. Smashing! Smashing?

Kallus - Ravagore, Scythean, Shredder, Succubus, Obligatory Shepherd, Ogrun War Spear, Ogrun Warmongers, French Foreign Legionnaires, Deathstalker
Objective Effigy of Valor

I won the die roll, picked first because that's generally preferable against eLylth.

Merc Deploy: Mostly standard, except to try to leverage Countermeasures against multiple units I deployed the Press Ganger squads as two conga lines.
Keys for the matchup for me are killing the Scythean if I can, spacing my feat models if I can't and not converting all the Legionairres into Incubi models on the opposing feat.

Hindsight: The line deployment meant it was easy for me to miss a model in a unit in latter turns once the moshpit was going.
Note to self: Paint the colours of the units on the end points of the arc to help differentiate.
I think I can tailor my list to be better in the matchup by dropping the DSM, Buccaneer and eEiryss to get the Kayazy unit in, though that wouldn't be better for me to play because I wasn't especially quick in my play, more on that later.

Legion Deploy: That's Mongers on the left, Spears on the right. Prey goes on the Commie Press Ganger unit.

Merc 1: Everything moves up, the Press Gangers don't go directly forward further than 9" in case of Ravagoreness. Counter Measures goes on the Commies out front. Fortune goes on the Galleon. One of the Commies runs backwards.

Only a single Ravagore means I can finally put the cast Fortune instead of Failsafe plan into play. Also lets the Galleon and the Buccaneer run.

Legion 1: They're coming right for us! The Ravagore spits a Seether, killing a Press Ganger while the DeathStalker also nails one. Ignite goes on the Mongers, Tenacity lazily drapes all over the Scythean.

Merc 2: Galleon gets two, Counter Measures/Fortune upkept.
Eiryss aims, kills a Legionairre.
Dougal Artillerists and mini-feats.
Galleon walks up and to the right, rolls max nipples (If you have a changing number of Nipples yourself, please see a doctor). Four are expended to kill a Warspear, the last two go deep backfield, scatter and pop both the Shepherd and Succubus.
Pure skill on display there.
Boosted Harpoon hits and drags in the Scythean, free attack hits it for a bunch,
MacBain walks up, feats for eight. He picks Grogspar, Alexia, the Lasses and four Gangers to be his Superhero defenders. He casts Jackhammer with his three focus, just killing the Scythean.
Buccaneer/Bokur run to shield MacBain!
Alexia runs up the field and engages a pair of the Spears.
Remaining support stuff runs around in the backfield like a headless chiken worried about it's mothers glandular fever.

If the Jackhammers fall short I had Zira, Rockbottom and maybe a Bokur halberd charge to finish the Scythean off, though I was happy those attacks didn't have to try to spike against armour 19.
Possibly it's a style thing, but here is an irritating dichotomy to MacBains! feat. Against average speed armies, if I go second then generally I have to feat on the bottom of 1, which opponents can back off and wait a turn, if I go first then I feat on the top of two, which is usually when MacBain! wants to hands out focus to the Galleon, so gets less feat targets.

Legion 2: Ignite upkept. The Legionaires flood the left zone and pop a few Press Gangers. The Deathstalker walks out to the left, misses a shot on Rockbottom. The Mongers try to jam up, but are stymied by Grogspared/feated Commies. The Spears on the right knock Alexia down on one box. The Ravogre moves up, tries a shot but is stopped by Counter MEasures. Kallus stays behind the Objective and feats.

Merc 3: Fortune/Counter MEasures upkept, Galleon gets three focus.
Dougal does his Artillerist thing.
Galleon advances forward, rolls up four nip shots, boosts the damage rolls to kill the Objective, also hits the Ravagore and drags it to Alexia.
Eiryss walks up, shoots down the Deathstalker and sits on the hill in the zone.
The Press Gangers charge into Ogrun, in general they do little, one of the Spears dies and becomes an Incubi.
Grogspar charges, hits a Monger and Pitches him into one of his fellows. Thrown guys dies and becomes an Incubi.
Orin moves up and Null Magics, Rockbottom puts tough on the DSM and goes to the left, DSM run to random spots. MacBain hides behind the Galleon, in a trench, toeing the right zone.

Mercs go to 2 CP.

Legion 3: Ignite hangs around.
Kallus casts Dark Guidance and stays in the back. Shredder puts Tenacity on him.
The Mongers kill Grogspar and most of the Press Gangers before them. The various Incubi do some scratching, pop a another Press Ganger or two.
The Spears can't really advance, so kill Alexia and the last Gangers impeding them.
Ravagore shoots the Bokur, boosts damage and murderizes him.
Legionairres charge up, but roll fairly bad to hit. Two mark up on Eiryss.

Mercs go to 3 CP.

Merc 4: In a lot of time trouble, I start this turn with 13 minutes, Marty is sitting happy with over 25.
Fire goes out on the Galleon, Fortune upkept, Counter Measures dropped, Galleon gets three.
Galleon moves up, engages all the War Spears and the Ravagore, does shots on Kallus. Nipple guns leave him on ten health with no Transfers, I elect to not boost to hit the Harpoon and miss a 10 with a re-roll. Still the right choice I think, though statistically unlikely.
MacBain casts Counter Measures on the Galleon, walks across the zone to allow the forest to impede.
Zira charges the Galleon to get a shot on Kallus, I derp hard on how Eyeless Sight works (Just because the Galleon is a base atm doesn't mean it stops blocking LoS)
Everything else just runs to jamming positions.

Mercs go to 4 CP.

Legion 4: No Pic alas, under 15 minutes rule.
Ignite upkept.
Legionairres finally kill Eiryss, but can't get the job done against Rock Bottom.
War Mongers, Ravagore and War spears all go into the Galleon. The Ravagore manages to miss twice. One War Spear also takes a free strike to get into the zone, survives on 1 box.
Kallus charges the Galleon, leaves it on six boxes, all systems in the right side are active.

Merc 5: MacBain charges the contesting War Spear, boosts to hit then kills.
Everything else activates and does nothing.

Mercs get to the 5 CP.

Mercs on the left, I was careful on my last couple turns to not burn time, didn't achieve the maximum of what could be done but got through what was needed.

Game 318 - MacBain! vs Karchev

It is a time of woe, for a Slam did not eventuate, but got a game in anyway.

There is a deep pit in Khador land, not the deepest (That is for those feeling optimistic about the Grolar's release date), but still dark and dank. Our intrepid adventurer, Ed the Red, had tripped and fallen and briefly succumbed to the thought that has plagued the occasional totally-not-Russian faction player.

Maybe Karchev is good?

Anyway, I planned on MacBain, having been inspired to try out Devil's Shadow Mutineers and hurridely painting them the day before. I dropped the TAC to fit them in and traded out the Buccaneer for the Bokur (I expect that latter swap will be quite common in actual Masters tourneys).

MacBain! - Galleon, Silly Wishnailer, eEiryss, 2x Press Gangers, Aiynna + Holt, Grogspar, Orin, Bokur, Devil's Shadow Mutineers, Dougal, Tinker, eAlexia
Objective: Effigy of Valor

Karchev - Spriggan, Juggernaught, Doge, Malakov + Behemoth, WGRC, Joe, Reinholdt, Boomhowlers
Objective: Effigy of Valor

Khador Deploy: Metal armless jack tot he left is the Spriggan.

Merc Deploy: Spread out in case of early bombard shenanigans.

In hindsight eAlexia went to the wrong side, she would have been better off running to be behind my objective early on then getting up the Rifle Corp and messing them up. This is partly due to my playstyle where the Boomhowlers get far ahead of the support elements.

Khador 1: Tow/Redline go, everything runs up. Behemoth Arm Locks Karchev, Jugger Arm Locks the Spriggan.

Merc 1: One to the Galleon.
eAlexia rides around the forest, toes it with the back of her base.
MacBain waddles forward a little into the middle of the Press Gangers, feats on Alexia, Eiryss, Grogspar and seven Smurfs. Casts Failsafe; then Countermeasures on said enemies of gargamel.
Eiryss runs forward to bomb early, though the interference range won't get Behemoth.
Smurfs and Commies flood the zone, Smurfs first.
Aiynna/Holt/Orin stealth it up, hang around with the cool kids in the back.
Galleon runs to block MacBain a little just in case.
The DSM run around, Morland goes out front to be a charge target for Zira.

Khador 2: Behemoth gets three focus on the guns, both spells upkept.
The Boomies go 4+ tough, charge in where possible, three get into the zone.
Behemoth releaes Karchev, walks back, bombard shots knock down Alexia.
Karchev runs to the right, pops the Jugger and Behemoth across.
Joe boosts attack rolls, WGRC move away from the Counter Measured Smurfs and shoots a load of Commies in the zone.
Spriggan bulldozes a smurf and walks into the zone.

Merc 2: Upkeep Counter Measures and Failsafe, Galleon gets three.
Smurfs and Commies kill five Boomies, giving one soul to Alexia (sweet sweet Press Ganger Skornergy).
Dougal moves a little, mini-feats,  Artillerists the big guy.
I do something stupid and throw Eiryss in the bin. Specifically, I fail to realise that the Spriggan will still have reach on the Press Gangers, and have Eiryss take a free strike to get a better shot with the Galleon harpoon.
Aiyanna and Holt move up, Aiyanna goes behind the Objective and Harms the Spriggan, Holt hits the opposing Objective and fails to hurt it.
Galleon moves up, rolls two shots on the left and three on the right. Left side AoE's do a little to the Spriggan, the right side pings the Objective for a tiny bit and lightly tap the Boomies for nothing.
Harpoon boosts, drags in the Spriggan, puts it on a small amount of health.
DSM charge, Zira goes into Morland, who then goes into the Spriggan, Mira hangs back as far as she can (Blergh to this command 7 junk).
Alexia and Bokur run in front of the Galleon.

Don't throw your Eiryss away. Blurgh.

Khador 3: Spells upkept, two focus on the Juggs, three on Behemoth.
Boomhowlers go 4+ tough, back pair aim, one falls back to kill a smurf near the Rifle Corp, a pair try to get into the zone but can't get past the Objective. Aiming pair kill some more of the smurfs.
Joe aims, boosts attack rolls, pops the other forward smurf.
Riflecorpcopter advance, snipe out the DSM.
Karchev runs, moons the Mercs (Uncivilised!)
Behemoth shoots down Grogspar, hits the Objective to pop Aiyanna.
Jugger arm locks Behemoth.

Merc 3: Failsafe upkept, I drop Counter Measures. One focus to the colossal.
Smurfs and Commies kill a Boomhowler and crank the damage to pop the Objective.
Bokur tries to slam the Jugger, snake eyes it.
Galleon runs into the zone and puts the right side into Melee with all the Khador large bases.
MacBain toes the Spriggan wreck, casts Jackhammer repeatedly which is enough to pop Behemoth.
Tinker runs into the wreck to block MacBain.
Holt pops a pair of WGRC, Orin lightnings, gets max bounces and kills three more of the roflecorp.
Alexia rides up, pops a Thrall that charges and kills Greygore.

Should have kept Counter Measures over Failsafe.

Khador 4: Tow upkept, three focus to Jugger.
Boomies, Doge and Malakov clear out the Smurfs on the right side of the zone.
Joe boosts attack rolls, WGRC move around, kill the Tinker and some more Press Gangers.
Karchev walks around, Doge stops the Galleon freestrike, Bokur free strikes for a few damage. Jugger pops behind him. Karchev is engaging, so can't do the knockdown spray.
Jugger charges MacBain!, boosted Ax charge misses, fist hits and does seven points, bought attack misses.

Merc 4: Galleon turns, swings for a bit at Karchev.
Thrall engages the Doge, fails to kill anything.
Press Gangers try to get some souls off the Boomies but don't succeed.
Alexia charges Karchev in the back then buys an attack. Mage Killer doesn't help enough, she does no damage.
MacBain starts Jackhammering, halfway through Karchev dies.

Mercs on the left. Time advantage more due to this being the first (only?) run of Special K by Edster.
