Durgen sits astride the ACME Earthbreaker Torpedo once more.
Lance, or Captain Skew as he should be known, has plonked down the Doomreaver horde of doom. I'm okay with this.
Scenario is Recon, which as far as I'm concerned is still that awkward cousin you know of but have nothing in common with.
Merc Deploy: Bit happier with how this one worked out, still a little bit of screwing around.
Khador Deploy: The Zulu horde has assembled milord. We will hold them here!
Merc 1: Everything runs up, Redline goes on the Earthbreaker and Inhospitable Ground goes up. I reasoned the rough terrain was going to stymy the Khadors nutjobs and was worth only getting one upkeep out there. I do think Primed would have been better to get out there over Red Lined, it's not like the Earthbreaker will need the speed or the strength buff.
Khador 1: The Horde runs forward. For the sake of ease I used Blue Counters as a control area measure for the rough terrain.
Merc 2: Alexia runs over to be behind my Objective to claim some Doomreaver souls. Dougal mini-feats and Artillerists the Earthbreaker. Durgen durdles over, feats, throws out Inhospitable again, Primes the Nyss and Explosivos one of the Gun Mages. He then carpet bombs out and clears out most of the Doomies in the zone. The Nyss charge up into annoying positions, stabbing a few more Doomies. Earthbreaker moves over, throws out some Rough Terrain and pummeling a few more Sword fetishists. Eiryss bravely retreats, plinking one of the Tea Strainer heads. Half the Gun Mages advance including Mr Exploivo, they dismount Fenris, who turns into a seductive corsetted Merc (Madelyn proxying as dismounted Fenris), the ones that stayed back plink more Orgoth Artifact Archeologists. Tinker heals Redline damage.
Running out of descriptors for those damn Khador infantry models....
Should have used Thor to boost attack rolls on the Earthbraker, make the mini-guns more viable at plinking some Doomies.
Khador 2: The wave of explody death and Inhospitable was unfortuante for the Motherland. They decide it is murder time. The Criminal Elements surge forth, they roll appallingly against the Nyss and kill their own Objective (Arcane Wonder). Butcher puts Boundless Charge and Ravager on himself, turns into a yellow Proxy base, feats for the hell of it and goes for a Gun Mage. He fails to kill a blocking Nyss, so can't reach the next Gun Mage in the chain for Homicidal Maniac and camps three focus. He get three feat tokens, which are used to send a Doomreaver to engage the Gun Mages and kill Eiryss.
Merc 3: Risen pop up ready to clear off the Doomreaver on the Gun Mages. Thor boosts the Earthbreakers damage. The TAC do fireballs at Butcher, killing the Nyss engaging him. Earthbreaker walks up, knocks down Butcher and puts him on 5 health. Durgen aims, fires a Case Cracker that puts Butcher down to two health. Alexia moves over, Risen kill a couple Doomreavers, she spawns a Thrall. Thrall charges the Buthcer and puts him in the dirt.
Definitely did better this time around, Alexia's Skornergy doesn't matter with enemy bodies to fill, my concern about Prime remains.

280 - Durgen vs Calandra
Have now Durgened. Haley2 has emerged on the horizons.
No! Bad Me! One faction at a time dammit!
There's something really off about the Durgen model, a sentiment I know others, though not all, agree with. Pretty sure the design process somehow involves Durgen being drawn up as a concept, getting Chibified then not fixed correctly before the model was sculpted.

Got the opening dwarf explosion off against Jacob rocking out Calandras theme of doom for the first time.

Calandra (Elemental whatsit) - 4x Slag, 3x Pyro, 2x Storm,Winter, Moses, Stone + UA

Rolled up Incoming. SR2015 has totally seen a spike in D8's for Warmachine.
Troll Deploy - Calandra smashes the die roll, picks first. Proxies:
Slag - One normal, three Runeshapers
Pyro - Two Normal, Fell Caller Hero
Storms - Pair of Kriel dudes
Winter - Keg Carrier
Merc Deploy - See where Dougal is? Do you know why he is there? Me neither.
Troll 1 -The Lights run up! That's um....uncomfortably close.....I need an adult?
Merc 1 - Earthbreaker gets Redlined, Durgen casts Inhospitable Ground. Dougal rolls his inked eye sockets at me and walks over, popping mini feat. Earthbreaker moves up, knocks down the three nearest lights (Slag, Pyro, Storm). Rolls one shot a side and my second Torpedo reached to far. Nyss spread out in a fashion that shows I have never played them before. The Gun Mages also plink away.
I forgot to activate Thor before the Earthbreaker. Doing well....
Troll 2 - The horde of lights move into aDominating Controlling Commanding position. Damn game terms, at least I wasn't trying to describe something as being more than regular size. A couple Gun Mages and a few of the Nyss explode. The Slags on the left pew pew almost half the Earthbreaker, taking out the L system.
Merc 2 - Durgen feats, puts Explosivo on three of the Gun Mages then steps back, realising how amazing this Green base objective is and desiring to appreciate it more. Tinker botches his repair roll, because situation is normal. Earthbreaker gets Thored and Dougaled, then moves up knocks down all the front lights, does some light damage to them. The Gun Mages move up, kill off the Kriel Stone barring the UA. TAC move up, they attack one of the left Slags, with the Earthbreaker damage it leaves him on one hit point. Eiryss moves into the zone, plinks that Slag to death. The Nyss run up the flank out of reflex. Red Line finishes off the Earthbreakers left side.
I spent two minutes calculating it was better firing Durgens AoE's rather than the Case Cracker. I then didn't shoot with him....
Troll 3 - One of the Storms walks over, blows Eiryss to her component atoms. The remaining Slag on the left shaves off another quarter of the Earthbreakers health. More of the Nyss and Gun Mages get pulped, all are brave this day. Calandra moves into the left zone.
Trolls go to 2 CP.
Merc 3 - Tinker heals Earthbreaker for 6. Thor and Dougal do their thing. Earthbreaker moves up, rolls max shots, pews Calandra to death with two shots to go.

Game 278/9 - Bart vs eGaspy
To lazy to change my models out of the bag, I took Bart to the Tuesday.
Naturally I versed eGaspy. I get it Universe! Stopping ramming the point into my temple! I'll finish painting Durgen for realsies!

ONCE MORE INTO THE BREACH MY DOOMED MINIONS! (Well, Mercs, you get the point)
Bloats. What the hell are Bloats.
Merc 1: Forward!
Cryx 1: Cloud advance.
Merc 2: Kayazy fan out, Bart toes the Friendly zone and feats. Galleon pew pews four of the Biles, half of the right side Knights and the Bloat Thrall.
Cryx 2: The undead don't do much. Some pew pews take out a chunk of Kayazy.
Mercs get a point by Dominating.
Merc 3: Galleon pews out all but one of the remaining right side knights, does six damage to the enemy Objective. Kayazy plonk a knight in the left to clear the zone.
Mercs get to 3 CP.
Cryx 3: Bart gets Parasited, Gaspy feats, charging feat Knights get Bart with the last attack.
Again, Gaspy could have done a few things to make it harder (Moved a Knight into my zone to stop the Dominate, different cloud set up, DJ on other side). Keeping Bart out of Gaspy feat range seems futile when they instead kill the Galleon, causing Bart to check out his infantry support options which he doesn't have. Kayazy blob for after feat turn maybe?
Screw it, Durgen is up to the inking stage anyway.
At what point is it not a cop out to just start playing Cryx?

Game 276/7 - Bart vs eGaspy/Bart
Sunday Slam returns. I'd thought to try out Gorten for a theoretical pairing with Bart, but Moops was rocking Cryx so old Bartten got a go.
I rolled the Moopisaur. He had eGaspy, so that wasn't great. Rocked on Fire Support.
Bart - Galleon, pAlexia + Risen, Kayazy Assassins + UA, Aiyanna + Holt, Wrong + Snapjaw/Bullsnapper, Tinker, Dougal, eEiryss
Objective: Effigy of Valor
eGaspy (I blame Tom Guan!) - Helldiver, Bang Bang Arcnode, Satxyxixixixixs + Hag, Bane Thralls + UA, Warwitch Siren, Gorman, Bile Thralls, Withershadow Combine, Tartare Sauce, Bane Knights
I think I won the roll and picked first? Probably better in order to get some table space before the feat delayed Alpha strike of death. One of the few split unit deployments I didn't hate.
The ranks of evil....
Cryx 1: The Node camps the hell on the left, Gorman clouds up next to Tartare in front of Gaspy, who lays down three circles of death.
Merc 2: Bart feats and charges up with a screen of Kayazy around. I ran Kayazy such that the node woul dhave to advance an inch to get within stealth range in case of Excarnate shenanigans. Galleon with Hotshot kills Gorman and all but one of the Biles.
Cryx 2: Cryx encircle me, what the hell is this nonsense? I outflank dammit, I am not meant to be outflanked!
Merc 3: Not liking my potential future, Galleon kills the enemy Objective and Bart camps on my flag. Rest of stuff jams, Dougal pew pews some of the Knights. I clam 2, not 3 like ym brain thought when it came up with the plan.
Cryx 3: Bile Purges the front ranks, Tarty curses Bart, Hag runs into denial range, Gaspy puts out Parasite and feated Banes splash Bart on the Galleons foot.

I think this game was another nail for my growing SUSS coffin project. This wasn't an experienced Gaspy, and I had some opportunities (Especially removing Gorman) that I shouldn't have, but it still seemed that a long game wasn't viable. I'll probably get Durgen painted this week now.
Top of 3 should have been an attempt to wipe out the Knights, starting with a kiss from Aiyanna, removing everything from near the opposing flag and running Snapjaw to Control, try to jam the Cryx horde with Kayazy for a turn then with Risen.
Game two, lost to an ATC list.

Game 275 - Arkadius vs Rahn
Hoopmon on Incoming, against the SUSSiest list ever.
Once upon time, the days were dark for Arkadius.The nights were darker. Carver was the hope of Farrow kind, Arkadius was naught but a twit with an at the time unique spell and cheap War Hogs.
Then glory happened. Some dipshit Circle dude lost a Gorax, and Arkadius surged forth into competitiveness.
This list is not from the glorious period of now, but prior to that, when I, with desperation, attempted to make good Arkadius lists by skewing every which way. I bought the models for these foolish aspirations, and promptly moved onto other things.
Then the Hoop came. A horde of models he painted, threatening an age old traditional dominance on the painting stage. The forgotten lists and their models surged forth, and lo and behold finally got the three Browns of Angry Norwegian Farrow.
Enough gibber, I made a list with 14 Razor Boars long ago, this is finally the maiden battle, games for which will be few and far in between, when there is cause for lolfests..
Arkadius (Mad Science Tier 4) - 3x War Hog, 14 x RaBo's, Brigands (Min), Bone Grinders (Min)
Objective: Arcane Wonder
Rahn - Hyperion, Chimera, Arcanist, 2x Battle Mittens, Aiyanna and Holt, SIlly Wishnailer, Sentinels + UA + Soulless, MHA, Narn
Objective: Effigy of Valor.
Ret Deploy: Sylyss will make his appearance later, when Hoops remembered him. Narn was originally eEiryss, but the model was elsewhere, so the wayward character solo returned. The league effect made Narn immune to Blasts, so I wasn't to worried about that.
Minion Deploy: Even with my +! I lsot the die roll, thankfully I got second anyway. The chunk of wood on the left is a Trench design I wanted to try out before banging out a few for the Canberra stores, hence its non-paintedness and text.
Ret 1: Literally everything runs, Rahn included.
Minion 1 Pre-feat: My RaBo's run into key spots, Narn and the MHA make it a little difficult though.
Minion 1: After the RaBo's move around, most running to offensive positions, Arkadius feats. Three RaBo's go into the Chimera, two of them miss and the last one strips off the shield. One Rabo kills the MHA, another pops Rahn, two get into the Mittens, one gets to Rahn for nothing whilst one more gores Aiyanna. I screw up one of the ones intended for Rahn, who instead charges a fellow Rabo but somehow misses. The Left War Hogs feat to advance up, the right one ends up ina spot to charge a fellow War Hog so I don't do it. Arkadius then advances and pops Forced Evo ont eh forward War Hog. What infantry I have run around to shield Arkadius.
Ret 2: Rahn feats, between him and the Mittens the nearest two War Hogs are knock downed and four innocent RaBo's are killed. The Sentinels try to make room for the Hyperion and get around the forest, it is awkward. The Hyperion walks forward and pew pews the front War Hog to death.
Minion 2: Left War Hog runs up, couple RaBo's walk into the right zone. A charging RaBo in the left zone clears the Battle Mitten toeing said zone. Brigands move up, they fail to hit anything. Bone Grinders run into the Trench. Arkadius charges a Bone Grinder, misses him. He fires two Primal Shocks at the single focus camping Rahn, I miss both boosted 7's. I scratch my head Watt style and contemplate life. The Rabos on the Chimera continue their epic duel, scratching it minimally. A Rabo walks over to the Arcanist behind the Barriers and gnaws his face off.
Minions go to 1 CP.
Ret 3: The left Mittens damage but fail to remove any aspects on the engaging RaBo. The right Mittens and Rahn knock down the forward War Hog but don't do much damage. Hyperion moves up, shoots the War Hog for a bunch. Sentinels charge War Hog and brutalise him. Chimera damages a Rabo, but misses the rest of his attacks.
Minion 3: RaBo on the left Mittens frenzies, misses. Brigands kill a couple Sentinels with a Hog Wild charge. A RaBo on the right kills another Sentinel. The Warhog charges and kills a few more Sentinels. Arkadius attempts to Primal Shock Rahn, fully boosted does four points. He then Maltreats, casts his healing spell, charges toward a RaBo to get in the zone. The RaBos on the Chimera can finally force, they beat it to death.
Minions go to 3 CP.
Ret 4: Mittens kills most of the Bone Grinders, leaving one. Hyperion charges the War Hog, leaves it on two boxes. The Sentinels kill the War Hog. The left Mitten squad finally kills the RaBo on them. Rahn camps and runs into his friendly zone, because Hoops forgot Warcasters don't contest....
Minion 4: The left most Rabo on the Chimera squad frenzies, does two points to his fellow RaBo. The other two anti Chimera RaBos go into the nearest Mittens in the zone, killing two of them. The lone Bone Grinder walks backward, Arcane Bolts a Mitten to death. Arkadius, mighty warrior that he is, charges the Mittens in the zone. Boosting attacks with Mind Control serum, he hits each one, which then goes and tries to kill the last Mitten in the zone.
First one misses.
Second one misses.
Third one never liked his "buddy" and caves in his skull.
Minions go to 5 CP, Arkadius does a little jig.
This game was silly.
