Game 86 - Win - Arkadius vs pKrueger

Result: Win
59 - 27 - 0

35 Point Close Quarters

Arkadius (Tier 4) - 3x Warhogs, 4x Razor Boars, Targ, Brigands (Max), Bone Grinders (Min),
pKrueger - Gnarlhorn Satyr, Woldwarden, Gorax, Woldwatcher, Woldwyrd, 2x Warwolf, Lord of the Feast, Shifting Stones

Summary: Won the die roll, went second. Mirror board, an impassable building in opposite corners and impassable wall pieces in the other corner. Long linear obstacle in middle of table.

Left flank essentially ignored, Krueger and beasts plonked down in the centre, facing off Arkadius and most of the units, Warhogs set to run to the right side of the centyre wall. Targ and RaBo's on the right. They were counter deployed by the Advance Deploy WarWolves and the Lord of the Feast, Stones went in front of the Krueger lot.

Opening turns spent advancing, Targ abandons RaBo's to avoid a Lord of the Feast assassination. Warhogs run out to the right side of the board centre line, trying to threaten past the wall.

Turn two happens.

Woldwyrd heavily damaged the front hog after moving up to the corner of the building, Forced Evo giving it boosted rolls (Boosts against models with upkeeps). Circle beasts advance up behind the wall. Lord of the feast teleports to back RaBo, misses it, Warwolves charge RaBo's doing little. A little lightning happened, but didn't do much. Satyr did a massive Slam to the damaged hog, ramming it into the building and leaving it only with a few boxes of spirit.

RaBo's frenzied, killed the Wolfs and damaging the Lord of the Feast.
Centre Warhog trampled over wall, wailed on Woldwarden doing a bit of damage, fell just out of melee range of the Woldwatcher, the intended target (Softer light beast so an actual chance of killing it). Targ spun around (Short distance from Arkadius in pic) so that his threat range wasn't on the second Hog, though ended up being an unnecessary precaution, healed the heavily damaged Forced Evo Beast. Evo Beast sacked move, wailed on Satyr and killed it. Last Warhog ran up engaged the back of the Woldwarden.
Brigands shoot and kill one of the Shifting Stones.
Arkadius activates, heals, feats. Advanced Hog does a little more to the Woldwarden. Between them the two other Hogs kill the Woldwatcher. RaBo's mostly don't use feat, except for one of them finishing off the Lord of the Feast.

Woldwarden throws Hog over the wall into the Brigands. Other remaining beasts charge a different Warhog, do inconsequential damage. Woldwatcher uses Stoneform power.
Krueger goes for the assassination. Casts fly spell on self, charges a Brigand, kills him. Casts Lightning on Targ, kills him, most of the Bone Grinders and hits Arkadius once. Feats, Arkadius bounces all damage to a RaBo. Krueger runs out of Fury.

Warhog turns around, takes no damage from the Krueger feat template, boosts headbut and misses, boosts Cleaver, hits, boosts damage and rolls the exact amount to kill.

Performance: 8/10. Decent, but there were errors from me that weren't exploited, specifically the RaBo placement, careful Warwolf placement would have caused some internal ruckus' and the Satyr should have just hit rather than slammed. Warhogs weren't focused on, though the lack of ranged abilities affected that. Woldwarden should have thrown Warhog the other direction, forcing the Brigands to be the attempted assassins, likely requiring a Crippling Grasp attempt from Arkadius. Likely Arkadius would have jsut fled to his final board location and gotten surrounded by the RaBo's, as I was winning the attrition war fairly well.

If I was the opposition: Make the attrition play. Warden maxes out on Fury to kill warhog instead of throwing him away, if he doesn't quite make it use Watcher to finish off, otherwise use Stone form and shield Warden from the other Hogs. Gorax moves up and toward the left. Stones shift to block Warhogs in and be annoying. Krueger feat used to kill off most infantry, should be able to get Targ, the Grinders and most of the Brigands. Lightning if the Warhogs are far enough way, defense spell or hold Fury otherwise.
Farrow next move: Brigands have to remove stones, likely to get at least one. Warhogs likely kill Watcher, though Stone form makes it require some damage spikes. RaBo's split up, running into a rough circle around Krueger's position, ready to deal with him or recieve hits from Arkadius transferring.
Circle next turn: Warden does as much damage to the Warhogs as possible, Gorax acts as backup. Odds are killing one, heavily damaging other. Krueger spams lightning spell and attacks to try to kill the RaBo's, likely coming down to the dice. This turn either enough is killed, or it's game over.

Game 85 - Win - Dr Arkadius vs 3Kreoss

Result: Win
58 - 27 - 0

50 Point Ammunition Run

Arkadius (Tier 4) - 3x Warhogs, Roadhog, 4x Razor Boars, Targ, Brigands (Max), Bone Grinders (Min), Slaughterhousers
3Kreoss - Reckoner, Avatar, Revenger, 3 Wracks, Choir, Exemplar Errants + UA, Exemplar Vengers, 2x Hierophant

Summary: Deployment pictured below, Menoth won the die roll and went first. All Razor Boars are on the far right, Bone Grinders are behind Arkadius. White Menoth Jack is the avatar, the blank large bases are the cavalry, 3Kreoss is the black cavalry model.

Opening turns both sides run up, a wrack blows up and thats about it. Warhogs lined up for the feat advance, Road Hog stays on the left, RaBo's don't run their full distance to stay in Targs command. Slaughterhousers swing in to the middle to hide Arkadius, who maltreated and cast heal to keep the Fury amount down to 7.

Menoth surprises me with some outright charges, the cav and Avatar charge up into the Warhogs, though don't do to well. The Errants shoot at the Brigands, doing little. Everything else advances up, 3Kreoss stays in the back.

The RaBo's run in to the right, where they stay the entire game frenzying and slowly chewing on the Revenger. The Avatar gets Headbutted to avoid his admonition esque escape spell (Move away after a damaging hit). The other WarHog on the right hammers into him. The left Warhoghits some Cav, the Road Hog moves up. Feat happens. Avatar ends up on 4 health, objective on 2 health, some Cav die, the Road Hog charges up, the RaBo's begin the bouncing off of the Revenger's Repel shield. Brigands advance, killing the far objective, which kills four of the Errants, another of whom gets plinked. Slaughters and Grinders move up.
On one control point.

Remaining Cav charge into middle, do little to the Hogs. Errants mess up the Road Hog, but don't quite kill it. Reckoner charges into centre, misses most of its attacks. A Hierophant toes into the zone.

Most of the Hogs Frenzy, Avatar dies as does an Errant and a Cav. RaBo's bounce away. Slaughters kill centre Objective and the second last Cav (Removing objective from play so it doesn't explode). Only non-frenzied Warhog advances into Reckoner and kills it. Bone Grinders charge last cav but don't kill him. RaBo's actually get some Choir. Primal Shock kills Hierophant, Arkadius enters corner of zone.

Kreoss charges a War Hog and kills it, weird magic spell attack hits Arkadius who throws the damage on a hog. Little else happens, win on scenario with 6 CP's.

Performance: 8/10. Centre objective shouldn't have been attacked so early, had the Cav decided to attack it all the War Hogs would have been set on fire from the scenario rules, which would have been bad with some damage spiking rolls.

Jacks moved in piecemeal, while I had the scenario objective. Errants should have been on the other flank to threaten my objective and kill RaBo's, which weapon masters are easily capable of doing.

Road Hog - Survived for the first time! Still under utilising.

War Hog - Solid as always, Headbutt power attack used well.

RaBo's - There best match. Held up Revenger, killed some Choir, in a longer game would have started munching support staff.

Brigands - Excelled in this scenario. 15 armour and 15 health objective easily killed by Pig Irons, Tough prayer kept them in.

Slaughterhousers - RFP was there right when it was needed.

Bone Grinders - +2 to spells useful on first turn as always.

Game 84 - Win - Dr Arkadius vs Kaelyssa

Result: Win
57 - 27 - 0

Arkadius (Tier 4) - 3x Warhogs, Roadhog, 4x Razor Boars, Targ, Brigands (Max), Bone Grinders (Min), Slaughterhousers
Kaelyssa - Griffon (Light, reach, fast), Hydra (Heavy, Chain attack, Battery), Phoenix (Heavy, combust aura), Other Heavy (Shield, Gun?), Mage Hunter Strike Force + Attachment, 2x Mage Hunters, pEiyrss, Stormfall Archers, Arcanist, Sniper

Summary: Lost Die Roll, opponent chose table side, I went first.

All Big Hogs in the centre, Road Hog on the right end of the line. Targ and RaBo's on the left, a forest between them and the Big Hogs. Brigands on the right, Slaughters, Arkadius and Grinders behind the forest/Big Hogs.

Against RaBo's was the MHSF, Mage Hunter SOlo's and Eiryss on the far right, everything else in the centre.

Opening turns are countering advances, RaBo's run far up the left to threaten the MHSF, Targ behind hiding in the forest. War Hogs ran up in typical formation, favouring the left side of the Board. Road Hog heads off to the right. Arkadius gets distance from Grinders, casts Aggresion and Forced Evo on the front War Hog. Other units move up behind.

MHSF shoot the RaBo's, damage a pair of them severely. Everything moves up. Weirdly the PHoenix plods into the forest. Mage Hunter solos and Eiryss move up.

Left flag dissapears.

Rabo's on the left mainly frenzy, charging into the MHSF.
Arkadius feats, the Road Hog heads off toward Eiryss. Warhogs all charge up, RaBo's attack some MHSF. Arkadius then charges the back Warhog to advance up, sits on six fury. Roadhog charges Eiryss, misses. Warhogs charge in, one badly messes up a Jack, another casts Overtake and kills a MHSFer, last one uses Overtake but fails to get anywhere meaningful. Infantry advance in a block around Arkadius.

MHSF and RaBo's lock in for the rest of the game. One Warhog goes down, eventually the Road Hog gets killed by a Mage Hunter solo. Piece trades end as per below, the War Hogs kill the centre heavies and get to Kaelyssa, hitting and killing her.

Performance: 5/10. Didn't do poorly, but should have lost. Arkadius got way to close, Kaelyssa realistically has a threat zone of death on the Doctor unless he has six fury on him, not counting other things attacking him.

Road Hog - NOT A FLANKER DAMMIT. Brigands should have headed toward Eiryss/Solo's, Road Hog should have been reaching up to set Kaelyssa and the Jacks on fire, or purging out at the MHSF. Should have been moved with the redeploy Tier benefit.

War Hog - Solid as always. Always needs to boost to hit casters that aren't knocked down or Crippling Grasped.

RaBo's - Worked well, bonus speed and feat makes them awesome. Held up and killed half of the MHSF, made their points tactically and strategically.

Brigands - Hog Wild really isn't worth more than fearless + tough.

Slaughterhousers - Didn't get to do too much this time around. The potential is there.

Bone Grinders - Proved their worth, solely for several applications of increased spell range.

Game 83 - Loss - Arkadius vs eMakeda

Result: Loss
56 - 27 - 0

Arkadius (Tier 4) - 3x Warhogs, Roadhog, 4x Razor Boars, Targ, Brigands (Max), Bone Grinders (Min), Slaughterhousers
3Makeda + Exalted Court - Tiberion (Character Heavy), Archidon (Flying Heavy), Cyclops Shaman,  Cataphract Incidiarii, Tyrant Commander and Standard, Aptimus Marketh, Bog Trog Ambushers (Max), Paingivers, Willbreaker

Summary:
Deployment below. I won the dice roll and went second. Bog Trogs go into Ambush and will pop out on my left.

The Road Hog dies early on to said Ambushers. One of the Exalted Court runs in to ruin the Warhog set up, he gets Primal Shocked, but the Warhogs are out of position for the feat and do self charging in order to get distance up the field. They then charge Tiberion and Archidon, Tiberion dies and Makeda gets engaged (Archidon gets missed to many times). The Brigands got shot up by the Incidarii, end up briefly engaging the Trogs. The RaBo's and Targ get lost on the right flank (Moved Targ to far turn one, was outside Arkadius' Control). They end up killing a Paingiver and getting massacred at the end of the game.

Warhogs get killed by Archidon/Makeda. Brigands get ginished by Bogs, Slaughterhousers took some Inderarii casualties, then ended up tying them up in the closing portions of the game.
Out of option, Arkadius charges the Archidon with a Mind Control Serum, you then goes and damages Makeda a bit.

Makeda charges Arkadius, sad times below.

Performance: 2/10. Bleugh. Multitude of mistakes here.

Deployment issues:
* Forgot Ambushers, should have deployed Road Hog on the right side of the back left Ruin
* Shunted Arkadius and Grinders behind the Warhogs, they do need to advance at full pelt

In Game:
* Should have kept Targ and the RaBo's closer Arkadius, the overall idea of getting stuck into the Paingivers could have been more feasible with better positioning.
* Warhog feat timing right, positioning wrong, should have sacrificed Brigands perhaps?

What I did right:
* Primal Shocked the blocker out of the way
* Crippling Grasp on the Cetrati before moving away
* That about it....

Arkadius - Primal Shock still handy, need to get rid of the Khador hang up of deploying the cast close up.

War Hog - Nice cheap strikers, positioning for feat is easily hampered by enemy activity alas.

Road Boars/Targ combo - Could have done so much more...

Road Hog - I need to stop trying to use it as a flanker, it needs screening infantry to survive

Brigands/Grinders/Slaughterhousers - Effectively independent of the Doc, should be run more freestyle than the beasts.
