Game 82 - Win Arkadius vs MacBain!

Result: Win
56 - 26 - 0

50 Point Incursion (Three flags, middle one disappeared)

Arkadius (Tier 4) - 3x Warhogs, Roadhog, 4x Razor Boars, Targ, Brigands (Max), Bone Grinders (Min), Slaughterhousers
MacBain! (4*) - Galleon, pAlexia, Steelhead Halbs (Max), Kayazy Assassins (Max) + UA, Wrong Eye and Snapjaw + Bullsnapper, pEiryss, Rhupert

Summary:
Deployment (Left photo, plus Rob).
Mercs opted to go first, Kayazy on the right flank, Halberdiers, Bullsnapper, Galleon, MacBain and assorted Solo's in the centre, Snapjaw and Wrongeye on the left, pEiryss AD on the left side.

Not pictured: Road Hog on the right flank, other side of the forest. Rest of warbeasts lined up, Razor Boars ready to lunge up the left with Targ behind to provide a control area. Brigands, Slaughterhousers and Bone Grinders lined up in that order behind the beasts, Arkadius on the right side to get the Roadhog in his control.

Opening turns both sides advane up, though Mercenaries don't go as far as they could have. Countermeasures goes on the Kayazy, Halberdiers get tough for the whole game. Arkadius feats to run the Gun Boar up and have the Razr Boars kill pEiryss. Anther Razor Boar guts a Kayazy, a Primal Shock only does three damage to the Underboss sadly.

Most of the Razor Boars get killed by various units the next turn, everything advances up. Middle flag has dissapeared, Wrong and Snapjaw leave the Bullsnapper behind to threaten the Left flag. Kayazy advance slowly and spread out.

Two Warhogs charge up, one stays to shield Arkadius. Road Hog kills a Halberdier and three Kayazy, sets the Galleon on fire though it goes out next turn. Two Primal Shocks kill most of Alexia's Risen and leave her on two health (First boosted Primal Shock missed, was saddening, second did 12 odd damage). Slaughters move up as a reserve, Bone Grinders get in the way. Gain two CP's.

Kayazy mini-feat, charge and kill the Roadhog and a couple Bone Grinders. Alexia's Risen attack the Slaughters, she hacks into a Warhog. Snapjaw and Wrong Eye butcher some Brigands. Halbs chare, do little to the middle Warhog. MacBain feats, catching everything important.

Targ uses Ancillary attack to kill a Halberdier on the left most Warhog. Centre two Warhogs trample over the tough units, one gets to MacBain and misses with all attacks, other gets to the Bullsnapper and takes up two thirds of its health. Third Hogs tramples over the Kayazy and sits in the open in front of the Galleon. Slaughters charge, two get to Alexia and miss. Brigands flail at Snap Jaw, tough out Wrong Eye. Arkadius moves away from the Kayazy, casts heal.

Bullsnapper frenzied, did little. Alexia pops some Risen next to Arkadius, they miss, she misses her attack on the Warhog. Galleon moves up, kills Warhog in the open and puts the one on MacBain to minimal heal. MacBain then kills him. Wrongeye/Snapjaw kill almost all the Brigands, who pass their command. Kayazy sit on the right flag. Remaining stuff kills some Slaughterhouses.

Final turn (Picture above), last Warhog engaging the BullSnapper moves over to McBain, boosts the attack rolls and kills him.

Performance: 4/10. Outplayed for the most part, Road Hog was poorly placed, but given the existence of Countermeasures wasn't going to have a fun time regardless. Should have held Razor Boars further back and not feated first turn, pEiryss didn't matter that much, waiting a turn could have allowed War Hogs to engage more models as a proper Alpha strike and the Razors could have been positioned to kill off Wrong Eye before his feat turn.

Had I Been MacBain: Would have played the Kayazy much more aggresively, got Snapjaw/Wrong Eye nearer to MacBain, have MacBain move up closer, run the Galleon first two turns to melee the War Hogs/shoot the Brigands. Run Halberds nearer to the left flag with Alexia as a second wave after the Halbs have been attritioned away.

Arkadius - Primal Shock would have been gold had it rolled better to kill the Kayazy and finish Alexia. Feat was wasted. Aggresion wasn't optimal this game. Maltreatment/healing use finally happened. The Tier bonuses continue to be good, though ADing the troops does have an attration.

3x Warhogs - Mainstray of the army, got the caster kill, not a great deal really going on.

Roadhog - Poor first outing, Countermeasures and charging Kayazy aren't great to deal with. Misplayed rather than being a poor model.

4x Razor Boars - Handy first strike and mobile Primal Shock deliverers, wasted this game.

Targ - Forget to move him turn 1 limited his intended use, but Razor Boars were thrown away regardless. Ancillary attack got used, was handy.

Brigands (Max) - Used Hog Wild to attack Wrongeye/Snapjaw, should have used Tough/Fearless prayer instead. Stats aren't great, but still a useful unit.

Bone Grinders (Min) - Useful as bodies, forgot compeltely about the Animus casting, may have allowed option I didn't consider, especially with the early death of the Road Hog they could have given Sprint to the Warhogs, could have moved the one that got stuck in the open to block the Galleon and save the Warhog on MacBain.

Slaughterhousers - Potential, had one of the two hit Alexia on MacBain eat turn it would have been gold (4d6 damage with a remove from play effect? Gold in theory on this match up). READ THE CARD. HAD POWERFUL CHARGE BEEN APPLIED THEY WOULD HAVE KILLED ALEXIA.

Game 81 - Win - Arkadius vs Ashlynn

Result: Win
55 - 26 - 0

35 Point Process of Elimination (Two Zones, one Objective in each, all Neutral).

Arkadius (Tier 4) - 3x Warhogs, 4x Razor Boars, Targ, Brigands (Min), Bone Grinders (Max)
Ashlynn - Galleon, 2x Mule, Lyissa, Aiyana + Holt

Summary: Mercs went first, Jacks and Ashlynn in the centre, Aiyana and Holt on my left with Lyassa ADing in front of them.
Brigands were all alone on the Right Flank, Razor Boars were all on the left and everything else was a clump in the middle facing the Jacks.

Mercs ran everything up. Three of the Razor Boars ran up, as did the Warhogs. Arkadius moved up, cast his upkeeps and Feated, only activating the Razor Boars, who killed Aiyana and Holt and tied up Lyissa. The RaBo left behind activated after a failed Feat Frenzy charge, moved up to block the Mules.

Ashlynn Quickens herself, moves up and kills the advanced Razor Boar. Feats. Mules advance, kill one Razor Boar and wound another. Galleon damages one Warhog, but fails to drag it in, it advances from Hyper Aggresive.

Front pair of Warhogs charge Galleon, heavily damage it, multiple misses due to Ashlynn's feat. Brigands charge right side Objective, put it down to four health. Razor Boar sticks in to a Mule, doing little. Other Razor Boar kills Lyissa. Bone Grinders screen Arkadius, give him spell range. Arkadius Crippling Grasps the nearest Mule from just outside Ashlynns feat range. Remaining Warhog runs up to the Grasped Mule.

Galleon and Ashlynn kill a Warhog between them, the Mules do a little damage but not much.

Razor Boar on the Mule Frenzies for very little. Brigands Hog Wild the Galleon, putting the Galleon on three health and destroying the Objective. Bone Grinders put extra range on Arkadius spells. Warhog activates, kills Grasped Mule. Arkadius advances, puts Crippling Grasp on Ashlynn. Warhog on the Galleon moves over to Ashlynn, boosts to hit rolls and kills her with the Cleavers.

Performance: 7/10. Ran lots of Fury up, early Feat meant no special removal, but ultimately worth it for killing Aiyana, Holt and eventually Lyissa. I think Ashlynn is happier without the Galleon.

Arkadius - Tier 4 + Feat + Razor Boars can be gold, though I don't expect it to work ever again.

Warhogs - Solid and reliable, Forced Evolution takes one of them to another level though.

Razor Boars - Absolute Gold as solo hunters, and 14 health/armour is decent

Bone Grinders - Invaluable this time around for the +2 range to spells, this time being meatshields was strictly a secondary affair.

Brigands - Worked out, in this list they are just there for contesting/claiming, which they had a decent go at. Hog Wild is great for charge options.

Targ - Did nothing, needed to be closer to the Warhogs, but then would have probably died to the AoE's.

Game 79 and 80 - Wins - eMagnus vs eMagnus/Dr Arkadius vs Kaelyssa

Result: Win
54 - 26 - 0

50 Point Rally Point (Two aligned circle zones, two objectes at the AD line, can be used to contest).

eMagnus - Galleon, Renegade, Vanguard, Boomhowler Co (Min), Kayazy Assassins (Max) + UA, Gorman, Orin Midwinter, Sylyss, Aiyana and Holt
eMagnus - Mule, 2x Renegade, Buccaneer, Thor marshaling 2x Grundback Blasters, Cylena + Nyss (Max), Orin Midwinter, Dougal MacNaile, Aiyana and Holt, eEiryss, Blythe and Bull

Summary: Not our finest hour, it was a slow slug fest.

The left was the Boomhowlers slowly being ground down by the Nyss and Blythe + Bull, the right was the Kayazy running up and killing the Buccaneer after a few got hit by the Mule.

The centre was a clash between all the Jacks and the specialists (Eiryss, Gorman, the Orins, etc.).

He had most of the table from running up turn 1, he mainly cast Mobility. I mainly cast Calamity, using it with Arcan Secrets against Jacks made it reliable, combined with Aiyana's Kiss allowed lesser attacks to mess up the Jacks. Eiryss was put on 1 hit point early, then took multiple turns to die, just sitting there denying everyone from allocating to the Jacks.

Opposing Magnus feated first, holding me back from Advancing Magnus/Galleon to contest things. Eiryss finally died to Orin Lightning bolting the Galleon then bouncing in. Gorman got a Black Oil on virtually on the Jacks, one Blaster was missed, which moved up to blast Gorman only for the shot to be Shield Guarded to the Vanguard, pretty much its only contribution. He was then killed by a pair of Nyss.

Final stage was my Magnus moving up and feating, the Kayazy charged in hacking down Aiyana, Orin and the Galleon killing Thor and Blythe. Opponent conceded as his Magnus had no ability to escape.

Performance: 5/10. Was slow and brutal. Galleon barely moved, held up Eiryss and an opposing Renegade. My Renegade fired early to try to kill Orin, Dougal and Aiyana, but scattered and was what put Eiyrss on 1 wound.

25 Close Quarters (Two aligned flags).

Dr Arkadius (Tier 4) - 3x Warhogs, Targ, Bone Grinders (Max), Brigands (Min)
Kaelyssa - Hydra, Griffon, Phoenix, 2x Mage Hunters, pEiyrss, 2x Arcanists

Summary:Ret went first, Jacks vs Hogs. Hunters vs Brigands on the left. Eiryss just hanging around.

Arkadius cast Forced Evo and Aggression, kept up Evo all game and Aggression for most of it. Ret had just advanced up. Everything Farrow runs up beside the Doctor.

Two Ret Jacks charged into Forced Evo Hog, weren't loaded with enough focus and didn't kill him. Mage Hunters charged Brigands, caused one to Tough twice. Eiryss moved to flag.
Warhogs moved up and killed both Jacks, Brigands killed one of the Hunters. Eiryss missed.
Arkadius feats to clear fury off a Hog, two Grinders are sacrificed to direct the Frenzies.

A few turns of screwing around happen. Two Hogs get to Kaelyssa, knock her down to seven health, after only hitting with one of many many many boosted attacks (9's to hit, 6 boosted attacks and 2 unboosted. One Hit. The hell.). Remaining Jack throws a Warhog to kill Targ, Eiryss runs from Grinders (Free strikes miss), shoots at Arkadius but misses. Remaining Warhog on Kaelyssa killed by her. She feats so can't be charged.

Warhog that was thrown, only one near Kaelyssa, frenzies and stands up. Arkadius Primal Shocks through it, boosting to hit and damage, does eight points to kill Kaelyssa.

Performance: 6/10. For first time with Fury did alright. Warhogs missing 6 boosted attacks needing 9's was less than impressive, got their in the end.

Arkadius - Won out, Crippling Grasp is definitely a last gasp spell. Forced Evo and feat are nice.
War Hog - Defensive stats aren't great, but they hit reasonably. Opening Tier speed boost invaluable.
Bone Grinders - Became valuable as bodies rather than for their abilities, likely would have been different had a Warhog died at some point to grant them the animus to cast
Brigands - Prayers are nice, and it's good to have a unit for the model count/Scenario affecting

Game 78 - Win - pVlad vs Ravyn

Result: Win
52 - 26 - 0

50 Point Incoming (Two Rectangle zones, one friendly, two objectives each on the centre line 17 from the edge).
League Doom Reaver Escort Model (Grants Deathbound)

pVlad - Conquest, Great Bears, Doomreavers + UA, Drakhun, Kayazy (Max) + UA, 2x Mortars, Mechanics (Min)
Ravyn - Banshee (Heavy with gun/blades), eEiryss, Mage Hunter Strikeforce + UA, House guard Halberdiers + UA + Souless Escort (WA), Mage Hunter Infiltrators + UA, Sylyss Wishnailer, Heavy Weapon Master Infantry+ UA + Souless Escort (WA)

Summary: Scenario didn't do much beyond splitting. There was a hill dead set in the middle of the board, which destroyed the plan of Mortars popping the Objective turn two (Arcing fire doesn't ignore terrain).

Doomies, Conquest, Drakhun, Mechanics and one mortar squared off against the Halberdiers, Banshee and the opposing heavy infantry. Vlad and the Bears hung out in the middle, the Kayazy and one Mortar faced off against the Mage Hunters. Eiryss and Ravyn wandered around in the centre.

Deathbound Doomies wear out the Infantry, as well two high rolls then the Counter charging Drakhun killing the Banshee.Ultimately it was a meatgrinder with Deathbound giving me the edge.

Om the left the Strike force killed the mortar with ease, then clashed with the Kayazy, eventually the strike force was worn down.

Ravyn had to go for a Hailmary, using a variety of movement shenanigans to clear a path for an Infiltrator to get the charge on Vlad, doing little damage. Ravyn was then attack by the last three Kayazy, who did little, then was smashed by the Great Bears.

Performance: 8/10. About right, placing Vlad at risk of a complicated Hailmary wasn't necessary, but he ended up being safe enough. Mage Hunters ignoring power fields is troubling.

Game 77 - Win - Karchev vs pThagrosh

Result: Win
51 - 26 - 0

25pt Chemical Reaction (Two aligned square zones, two aligned objectives at advance deploy lines)
League effect: All living models heal D3 damage at the start of their turn.

Karchev - Behemoth, Devastator, Kodiak
pThagrosh - 2x Scythean, Shredder, Ogrun War dudes + UA

Summary:Kodiak marked as prey by Ogruns.

Khador pick table side, Legion go first. Warbeasts and Thags face off the left, Ogrun on the right. Khador places to the right of centre to avoid a hill.

Legion all run up. Khador Tow, move up to middle, Behemoth aims and kills an Ogrun, Kodiak moves leftward around the objective away from the Ogrun.

Legion advance again, Scytheans stagger across my zone, Thag and Shredder stay back, Ogruns run up. Karchev feats, Unearthly rages, moves up and spins around, sprays Ogruns hitting two, knocking one down and killing the UA to get rid of Prey, Devestator placed facing Ogrun, Behemoth the back Scythean, Kodiak not towed. Kodiak charges the nearest Scythean, chain attack headbutts it into the ground and leaves it on one hit point. Devestator charge up, killing an Ogrun. Behemoth charges rear Scythean, kills it then finishes off the one wound knocked down one with a bombard. Other bombard misses Shredder and does a little damage.

Remaining Ogrun charge, one into Behemoth for some damage, one into Devestator for decent damage, knocked down one stands up and swings at Devestator. Shredder charges Kodiak, does little. pThag charges Behemoth, burns whole stack to take out Movement, pops feat and places Scythean to block. Karchev upkeeps tow, casts Unearthly rage, slings Kodiak up to take out Ogrun on the Behemoth, sprays Shredder for some damage, Kodiak kills Ogrun allows Behemoth to walk around Scythean to Thag and punch him to death.

Performance: 8/10.Should not have sprayed Shredder, killing it would have given THag two Fury to transfer. Ended up not being relevant though.
