Game 33 - Win - Old Witch vs eKreoss

Result: Win
21-12-0

35 Point Machinations Scenario 1 (3 Objective in line down middle of table, warcaster can take an action to destroy objective and revive D6 small based infantry

Old Witch + Scrapjack -5th Border Legion Demolisher (League model, gained Advanced Deploy), WGRC (Max), Joe, Gorman, Silly Wishnylons, 2x Kayazy Eliminators, Yuri, Drakhun (w/dismount)
eKreoss (Tier 2) - Fire of Salvation (Character Heavy), Reckoner (Heavy, flare cannon), 2x Knights Exemplars, Exemplar Errants (Crossbow, Weapon Masters), Exemplar Seneschal

Deployment - Both armies spread out, the WGRC face off the Errants, Scrappy and Gorman in the middle faces the two enemy heavies with Kreoss behind. Old Witch, Eliminators face off the Knights. Yuri advance deploys on the far left, with the Demolisher in front of the Kayazy.

Summary - Khador charges forward, Iron fleshing the Kayazy and putting Avatar of Slaughter on the Witch (It is upkept all game, does nothing). Menoth advances slowly.

Scrappy runs up, Old Witch teleports, feats and places a Murder of Crows. The WGRC shoot some Errants. Yuri charges and kills some Knights. The errants kill half the WGRC, a unit of Knights are mostly killed by Witches Feat damage, the Heavy Jacks walk as far forward as they can, Kreoss hangs back. Fire of Salvation gets to the Elimiantors with Iron Flesh and kills them. Drakhun counter charges the Reckoner, taking out the Cortex.

The other Eliminators charge Kreoss, doing a little damage. The Demolisher charges Fire of Salvation, taking out the Cortex and Right Arm. Scrappy moves up to get a bead on Kreoss. Old Witch advances, as do Gorman and Silly. Yuri charges one of the remaining knights and kills him. Kreoss burns focus to kill the Eliminators on him, the Heavy Jacks achieve little. The Errants advance and kill a few more of the WGRC, leaving them with three remaining. The Seneschal kills Yuri, the remaining distant Knights move up.

Old Witch Gallows Kreoss through Scrappy, then activates an objective to return some of the WGRC, who advance and fire on Kreoss, doing little damage. Scrappy moves over to Kreoss and kicks him to death.

Performance - 8/10. Forgot about Tough being on the WGRC, and SHould have placed and moved Old Witch closer to the Objectives to be more threatening, aside from that all good.

Game 32 - Win - pVlad vs eFeora

Result: Win
20-12-0

25 Point Assassination

pVlad -Spriggan, Wardog, Drakhun, Yuri, IFP (Max), Kayazy Eliminators
eFeora - Reckoner (Heavy, Flare Cannon), Vanquisher (Heavy, Big AoE sets units on fire), Choir (Jack buffers), Exemplar Errants (Weapon Master, Self Sacrifice) + UA, Wracks, Vassal of Menoth (Jack Booster)

Deployment -Two opposing blocks, with Yuri on the right flank

Summary - Yuri and Drakhun run up the right, drawing away the Reckoner. The Errants run up, are charged by the IFP. After a fair brawl, most of the Errants and half the IFP die. Yuri and Drakhun eventually die. The Eliminators charge Feora, doing 4 points then dying. Vlad moves up with the Spriggan behind, wardog cowering near him. Warjacks both attack Vlad, but miss. Vlad moves sideways, kills one of the two remaining errants, casts Assail on the Spriggan and feats. Spriggan charges Feora, knocks her down to one hit point. The two remaining IFP declare a charge, one is missed by a freestrike from the last Errant to get to Feora, hit and kill.

Performance -7/10. Sacrificed as appropriate to distract things. Spriggan should have bought a Lance attack and boost to hit instead of boosting the Shield. Vlad should have cast S and P on the final turn instead of Blood of Kings.

Game 31 - Win - Old Witch vs pDeneghra

Result: Win
19-12-0

35 Point Assassination

Old Witch + Scrapjack (me) - Behemoth, WGRC (Max), Kovnik Joe, 2x Eliminators, Sylyss Wyshnlarr, Gorman, Drakhun
pDeneghra - Bonejack (Chicken, Arc, Spray), Reaper (Heavy, Harpoon), Slayer (Heavy, close combat), Bane Thralls (Max) + UA (Officer, Standard), Bane Lord Tartarus (Bane booster), Necrotech (Mechanic) and Scrap Thrall (Suicide bomber), Pistol Wraith, Skarlock (Magic Caster), Darragh Wrathe (Large Solo Cavalry, Undead Buff Magic)

Deployment - Banes and their support + Bonejack and Reaper in the centre, Deneghra behind. Remaining Heavy and solo's strung out to the right.
Forest just in front of centre of Khador deployment, Behemoth deploys on edge. WGRC, Scrapjack, Gorman and one unit of eliminators to the left. Drakhun, Joe, Sylyss and Witch behind the WGRC block. Other eliminators on the far right.

Summary -Cryx advance on opening turn. Drakhun dives over to the right flank, the Behemoth lumbers through the forest, firing and damaging the Bonejack, taking out Movement. WGRC advance, place template in front of the Banes. Both units of Eliminators do full run ups into the Cryx face. Scrapjack advances, Gorman smoke clouds him. Joe puts Fearless/Touch on WGRC, Old Witch puts Weald Secrets on Behemoth, Iron Flesh on WGRC.

Cryx turn two, the entire right flank try to kill the Right most eliminators, eventually putting down one of them. The other fails the command check. The Banes charge the left most Eliminators, a few get in but don't hit.

Khador turn two. Behemoth kills some grouped up Banes. Scrapjack runs forward near Deneghra. Old Witch gets Arcane Secrets from Wyshylnarr, then arcnodes Gallows to drag Deneghra 4 inches forward. She then Unseen paths him back. The Eliminators charge Deneghra, hit and kill.

Performance - 6/10. Hailmary done well, but failed to feat with Old Witch, which was the planned safety measure.

Game 30 - Win - Old Witch vs Zerkova

Result: Win
18-12-0

35 Point Assassination

Old Witch + Scrapjack (me) - Behemoth, WGRC (Max), Kovnik Joe, 2x Eliminators, Sylyss Wyshnlarr, Gorman, Widowmakers, Drakhun (NOTE: too many points)
Zerkova  - Beast '09, Spriggan, Widowmakers, Sylyss Wyshlnlarr, Great Bears, eEiyrss, Doomreavers

Summary: Some ruins on the right were the only relevant terrain, and even then not by much.

Zerkova and her Jacks were in the centre, facing off against Old Witch hiding behind the WGRC, Behemoth and Scrapjack. On the left the Great Bears faced off the Widowmakers and one unit of Eliminators, with the other Eliminators on the right flank. The opposing Widowmakers, Doomreavers and eEiryss advance deployed in a screen from the centre to the right.

Zerkova and co went first, everything charged up. in reply everything advanced, the WGRC killing off all but one of the Doomreavers and Old Witch putting down a Murder of Crows to block LoS. One of the Great Bears was heavily injured by a Widowmaker, and that was the early exchange.

The remaining Doom Reaver ran to the WGRC, where he was countercharged and killed by the Drakhun. The Great Bears split up between the Eliminators and Widowmakers. The Great bears were killed by Behemoth AoE's and Widowmaker fire. The opposing Widowmakers were killed by the charging Eliminators and WGRC, the Drakhun ran up and engaged eEiryss.

The Spriggan charged the Drakhun, dismounting him and leaving him on two health. Zerkova tried and failed to kill the Drakhun. '09 ran up to shield Zerkova. Scrapjack arced a Gallows to drag the Spriggan away, where it was black oiled. The Drakhun damaged Zerkova, then the Widows moved up and finished her off.

Performance: 7/10. Did the right moves, but inability to write a legal list is pathetic.

Game 29 - Loss - Zerkova vs pKreoss

Result: Loss
17-12-0

35 Point Assassination

Zerkova (Tier 4) - Conquest, Marauder, Vanguard, Kayazy (min) + Underboss, Gorman, Greylord Ternion
pKreoss - Repenter, Reckoner, Choir, Zealots + Monolith Bearer, multiple KNights Exemplar

Summary: Deployed first, ended up facing a flank heavy infantry filled deployment.

Units moved around, the enemy warjacks became immune to shooting courtesy of the choir, the Kayazy did essentially nothing, running away from Zealots the whole time. pKreoss popped feat, Repenter charged Zerkova and binned her easily.

Performance: 3/10. Got rules wrong, placed a silly list, paniced rather than doing the necessary sacrifices.
  • Kayazy should have been moved behind Conquest early, had Banishing Ward on then just charged straight for Kreoss, popping feat early to run through Conquest should have been considered, anything to make Kreoss pop his own feat early on.
  • Vanguard should have been held nearer to Zerkpva, either in front to block charges or behind out of Kreoss feat range to move up  under water and try to stop the charging Repenter
  • Got to remember Menoth crazy casualty inspired shenanigans
  • Conquest shold have moved to the Right as a distraction, setting up the Marauder for a charge on the Reckoner or at least engaging with the zealots to stop Kayazy hunting.

Game 28 - Win - Old Witch vs Ossyan

Result: Win
17-11-0

35 Point Assassination

Old Witch/Scrapjack - Behemoth, Widowmakers, 2x Kayazy Elimators, WGRC (Max), Kovnik Joe, Gorman di Wulfe, Silly Wishnylons
Ossyan - Hydra, Manticore, Phoenix, 2x Arcanists, Stormfall Archers, 2x Houseguard Rifleteam, Mage Hunter Assassin

Summary: Khador deploys first, rough terrain on left and centre, with a forest on the right, plus some inconsequential impassable stuff up the end. Behemoth and Scrapjack are centrally placed next to forest, Widowmakers end up in forest, Elimators are on the far left and centre, WGRC on the left. Witch, Gorman and Silly Wishnylons are behind Behemoth.

Opening turns upkeeps go up, Iron Flesh on the central Eliminators, Weald Secrets on the WGRC and Avatar of Slaughter on Scrapjack. Gorman places a smoke cloud on Old Witch, he does this for the next few turns. On the left the Eliminators fall back from the Mage Hunter Assassin, who ends up in the WGRC, where he kills a few of them over a number of turns, they react by ignoring him. Behemoth AoE's an Arcanist, the Widowmakers get one of the Stormfalls. The three heavy Ret Jacks run up in a staggered formation.

Scrapjack moves up to Gallows a Jack into Behemoth charge range, but doesn't pull it nearly far enough. The IF'd Eliminators charge Ossyan and do squat, they are butchered in response. The Widows pop the remaining Arcanist, but otherwise just distract the stormfall archers.
The Gallows Ret Jack charges and kills Scrapjack.

Behemoth kills the Ret Jack that killed Scrappy, the WGRC kill the Riflemen and advance. Gorman Black Oils one of the two remaining Ret Jacks. The Widows are killed by a lucky AoE from the Stormfall, Witches Feat stops the Stormfall from advancing and slightly damages the non-Black Oiled Ret Jack.

Gorman advancs again and Black Oils Ossyan.WGRC advance and shoot Ossyan, he is put on one health. He is charged and finished off by the Eliminators that have run all the way from the left.

Performance: 7/10. Right moves mostly, with the exception of misplaying Scrapjack, should have plonked him in the edge of the forest and channeled (Forest gives him Stealth). Not a good list to attempt the teleport tricks. Need to remember Behemoth shooting focus goes on the Sub-Cortex.
