Game 14 - Win - pButcher vs eStryker

Result:Win

8-6-0

pButcher - Marauder, 2x Berserkers, MoW Shocktroopers (5), MoW Demo Corp (3), 2x Manhunters, MoW Kovnik, Wardog (Tier 4)
eStryker - 'Ol Rowdy, Stormwalls, Minuteman, Stormblades + 2x Storm Gunners + Officer/std Bearer, Runewood, Squire

Game:Picked first turn, MoW in a line, Warjacks advanced deployed as far as possible, Manhunters on the far right. Cygnar split with eStryker and Jacks on one side, Stormblades on the other side.
  1. Khador charges directly forward, everything heading straight for Stryker and his Jacks, the Manhunters a distance ahead hide in a forest near Stryker and 'Ol Rowdy. In reply the Stormblades run forward, the heavy Jacks hang back and the Minuteman peppers the Marauder, blowing off the Right Arm and ping a box of the Left Arm.
  2. Butcher advances, casts Full Throttle, remaining focus on the Marauder. A Berserker tries to Slam the Minuteman to open a charge on the Stormwall, but misses the attack. The Marauder charges the Minuteman and punches it to death. The other Berserker charges forward, followed by the Kovnik. The Demo Corp advance to just behind the Rightmost Berserker. One Manhunter runs up into Stryker and 'Ol Rowdy, the other runs behind the threaten Stryker's rear. The MoW Shocktroopers Shield Wall in front of the Stormguard. Cygnar turn, the Stormblades charge the Shocktroopers, doing very little damage. The Stormwall advances to the Berserker on the left, and kills it. 'Ol Rowdy fails to hit the Manhunter next to it and Stryker. Stryker kills the Manhunter, then disrupts the two remaining Jacks. The Squire positions to block the remaining Manhunter from charging Stryker.
  3. Butcher moves up, pops feat, casts Full Throttle, casts Fury on the Berserker. The Manhunter charges the Squire and easily kills it. The Marauder charges the Stormwall, heavily damaging it, allowing the Kovnik to charge and finish it off. The Berserker charges 'Ol Rowdy, heavily damaging him. The Demo Corp charge 'Ol Rowdy and finish him off. The Wardog moves to prevent the Stormblades getting to Butcher. The Shocktroopers hack down half the Stormblades. Cygnar responds by having eStryker disrupt the Jacks and flee, the Stormblades fight the Shocktroopers but again fail to take any down. Runewood kills the Wardog.
  4. Butcher moves to the Right casting Full Throttle and Iron Flesh on himself, the Berserker and Manhunter run after Stryker, the Kovnik crawls through terrain in the middle and the Demo Corp run to the left, trying to box the fleeing caster in. The Shocktroopers cut down the last of the Stormblades. Stryker flees to next to the Shocktroopers, Runewood cuts one down. Stryker feats and cuts down a Shocktrooper as well.
  5. All Khador move towards Stryker. The Shocktroopers move around, killing Runewood. One gets to Stryker, but misses. The Marauder runs up, but falls short. Stryker moves away from the Shocktroopers and charges Butcher, in the process taking a hit from the Shocktrooper for 15 damage. He uses overboost for two dice, but rolls a 7 and kills himself.
Unit Overview:
  • Marauder: Arm disabled too quickly to try out Combo-Smiting, but in spite of that achieved a lot.
  • Berserkers: Near constant Disruption prevented any plans for explosions, but with Full Throttle it didn't matter, did very well.
  • Shocktroopers: Got lucky not taking losses to the Stormblades, but held them up admirably as intended. Lucky hit rolls let them wipe out the unit, and got the critical hit needed on Stryker.
  • Demo Corp: Finished off a very damaged 'Ol Rowdy, became a meat shield due to other units getting to the enemy first but had no deficiencies.
  • Kovnik: Finished off the Stormwall with ease.
  • Manhunters: Only killed the Squire, but Man of the Match for holding up 'Ol Rowdy and Stryker.
  • Wardog: Sacrificed to protect Butcher.
  • Butcher: Full Throttle and Feat was brutal.

Performance: 8/10. Only mistake was moving Butcher in the wrong direction so that the Demo Corp couldn't cover him the last charge of Stryker.

Game 13 - Loss - eIrusk vs Garryth 35pt

Result:Loss
7-6-0

eIrusk vs Garryth (Retribution)

eIrusk - Spriggan, Wardog, MoW Shocktroopers (5), MoW Demo Corp (3), min Kayazy + US Underboss, Mortar, Widowmakers
Garryth - Phoenix, Mage Hunter Strike Force + UA Mage Hunter Commander, eEiyrss, Arcanist, Battle Mages, Sylys Wyshnalyrr, 2x Magister, Narn

Game: Brick deployment for Irusk, central for Garryth with the Mage Hunters spread out in advance deploy. eEiyrss on one flank, Narn on the other.
  1. Garryth and co charge forward enmasse
  2. Mortar pings Phoenix, units move up, Widowmakers kill a Magister
  3. Mage Hunters advance, open fire (ignore LoS ability) to kill Mortar (Grunt advances the ranks) and 3/4 of the widowmakers. Shocktroopers get set on fire.
  4. eIrusk moves forward, pops feat, uses Airburst to kill Eiryss and Mage Hunter UA. Madelyn Corbeau reduced to one hit point. Remaining Widowmaker ping remaining Magister, puts him on 2 health. MoW charge in a long line, Demo Corp clear one flank of Mage Hunters, Shocktroopers all miss. Kayazy run forward. Wardog moves into Narn.
  5. Kayazy get mauled by AoE's targeted at Demo Corp. Battle Mages push Spriggan back. Narn runs away from Wardog (Acrobatics!) Shocktroopers take a few casualties. Demo Corp reduced to one member. Garryth moves up and pops feat (Prevents Focus from being spent).
  6. Irusk moves out of Garryth's control to escape feat effect, pops Battle Lust on remaining Demo Corp. Demo Corp charges Garryth. First attack hits, reducing him to five health. Second attack misses. Remaining pair of Kayazy move into Garryth. Miss. Two Shocktroopers engaged with Mage Hunters, they swing and miss, last one charged Garryth. Missed. Spriggan moves to try to cover Irusk.
  7. Battle Mages push Spriggan out of the way. Garryth leaves combat with Madelyn Corbeau's Intrigue. Garryth charges Irusk and easily cuts him down.

Performance: 5/10. Not sure what I would have done differently yet.

Things to remember:
  • Battle Mages immune to Blast Damage.
  • Be careful charge past mobs, remember to watch for 1/2inch melee range.
  • Always REMEMBER opposing casters feat.

Game 12 - Loss - Karchev vs Ashlynn 35pt

Result:Loss
 7-5-0

Karchev vs Ashlynn

Karchev - Spriggan, Kovnik + 2x Destroyers, Ternions, Widowmakers, Guard Dog
Ashlynn - 2x Mule, Press Gang, Pirate Crew, Gun Mages, pEiryss, Aiyana and Holt, Madam Corbeau

Game: Ashylnn horde advanced, bombards killed the Press Gang and Corbeau, the Widowmakers pinged a few Pirate Crew, who ran into combat. The Ternions killed them, the Widowmakers popped a few models. Widowmakers and Ternions killed by Gun Mages and Holt.

Disaster: Kovnik ran to the left. Karchev ran to the right with Tow up, slinging the Spriggan around who charged Ashlynn. Who missed. Everytime. Ashlynn feated, a Mule charged Karchev and wrecked him a bit. Eiryss DOOMbolted Karchev two turns running. Kovnik destroyed one Mule and a couple gun mages, the Destroyers flailed, one missing free strikes on Eiryss, the other needing the Spriggan to finish off the Mule holding Karchev in place. Karchev walked away and killed Eiryss, but Ashlynn was in charge range and skewered Karchev like a spear going through a Jabbawokki.

Unit Overview:
  • Kovnik: Tough, monstrous in melee and with an excellent drive.
  • Karchev: Withstood for an amazing amount of time.
  • Spriggan: Unlucky on the dice.
  • Destroyers: Did well shooting, little to do in combat, would have done decently had Kovnik stayed nearby,
  • Ternions: A handy spray attack, though didn't survive long enough for cover to be useful
  • Widowmakers: Poorly handled, should have shifted after deployment to elsewhere. Need more support.
Performance: 4/10.Changed mind halfway through turn, going from long Bombard plan to trying an assassination slide, stranding Kovnik and reducing value of Destroyers considerably.

Game 11 - Loss - eIrusk vs pVayl

Result:Loss
 7-4-0

eIrusk vs pVayl

eIrusk - Kodiak, MoW Shocktroopers (5), Greylord Ternion, MoW Demolition Corp (3), WG Mortar
pVayl - Angelus, Naga, Typhon, Spell Martyr, Raek

Game: Popped Spell Martyr with Airburst, Ternions popped clouds on Demo Corp to hide Irusk, turned out to be worthless. Kodiak set up to block alongside the Ternions, but didn't work out. Irusk easily assassinated.

Unit Overview:
  • Irusk - Got a kill with Airburst if nothing else.
  • Ternions/Kodiak - Misplayed stupidly.
  • MoW - Crushed anything they charged
  • Mortar - Hilarious hit on the caster for 12 damage (Deflected onto warbeast)
Performance: 3/10. Wrong army selection choices, particularly the Ternions and Kodiak, as Legion ignore cloud effects. At least used Airburst well.

Future changes: Work Spriggan in to work with Widowmakers and Mortar, hold back more against the short range/cc armies and get the best use of Snipe + Tactical Supremacy and Mortar + Fire for Effect. Try to grab Sylls in the future to pay one upkeep. Place Warjack more centrally, Khador Jacks are to slow to threaten flanks.

Game 10 - Win - pButcher vs pLylth

Result:Win
 7-3-0

pButcher vs pLylth (Legion)

pButcher - MoW Shocktroopers (5), MoW Demo Corp (3), Spriggan, Wardog, Widowmakers, Manhunter
pLylth - 2x Shredders, Max unit of Hex Hunters + UA: Bayal, Naga,???

Game: Charged up the middle, Hex Hunters killed the Manhunter, Wardog killed by Lylth at range. Shredder mauled up by Widowmakers, said Shredder ran up into combat with one. Butcher charged and killed Shredder, MoW slowly took down Hex Hunters, other Shredder killed by Widowmakers. Spriggan charged Lylth, killed her with a back strike when she tried to flee and snipe Butcher.

Unit Overview:
  • Butcher - Beast.
  • Widowmakers - Messed up the Shredders
  • MoW - Did well enough, could have blocked better for Butcher
  • Wardog - Sacrificed to protect Butcher.
  • Spriggan - Reach was gold.
Performance: 7/10. Should have noted how Spriggan's anti-stealth worked.

Game 9 - Win - eIrusk vs Ashlynn

Result:Win
 6-3-0

eIrusk vs Ashlynn (Mercenary)

eIrusk - Kodiak, MoW Shocktroopers (5), Widowmakers, MoW Demolition Corp (3), WG Mortar
Ashlynn - 2x Mule, Eiryss, Madelyn Corbeau, Press Gangers + Lass, Lady Aiyana and Master Holt,

Game: MoW's advanced up the left with the Kodiak, where they got blasted by the Mules. The Kodiak got held up and dealt with the Press Gangers. The Shocktroopers spent most of the game tied up with a Mule, the mortar pinged the other Mule, while the Widowmakers killed Holt and Corbeau then got in combat with Eiryss. Ashylnn moved in, cutting most things down, while Irusk ended up fleeing into a forest in the centre, killing Eiryss with an Airburst.

Final Stages: Irusk hidden in forest, with the Shocktroopers having killed one Mule charged the other under Battle Lust, taking out both it's arms. Ashlynn moved to the back of the Shocktroopers, killing them both, the damaged Mule then shambled towards the forest. Irusk used Energizer to move through the forest, then charged Ashylnn in the back, hitting and killing her.

Overview: Spent every unit, lucky with Irusk's attack doing enough damage.

Unit Overview:
  • eIrusk: Killed Eiryss and Ashlynn, Artifice kept him alive at one point, Energizer was great for positioning.
  • Kodiak: Right unit, Vent Steam getting around Ashlynn's feat to wipe out the tarpit Press Gangers. Combined with Energizer, Vent Steam managed to damage Ashlynn setting up the caster kill.
  • Mortar: Great distraction, blew off one of the Mule Lobber arms before it could take a shot, as well as pinging Ashlynn for a few points prior to the caster kill.
  • MoW's: Shocktroopers held up Mule for a while, needed Battle Lust earlier to be more effective. Demo Corp got charged by Ashlynn and were sacrificed.
  • Widowmakers: Killed their points, held up Eiryss and a Mule for a few turns.
Performance:6/10. Should have used Widowmaker's to ping the Mules and Airburst to take out Eiryss/Holt/Aiyana. The MoW's should have hung back with the Demo Corp behind them, ready to absorb the charge. The Kodiak was in the right spot, as it was the only unit that could effectively one turn the tarpit unit of Press Gangers.

Game 8 - Win - eIrusk vs Makeda

Result:Win
  5-3-0

eIrusk vs Archdomina Makeda (Skorne)

eIrusk - Kodiak, MoW Shocktroopers (5), Widowmakers, MoW Demolition Corp (3), WG Mortar
Makeda - Molik Karn, Titan Gladiator, Praetorian Karax

Game: Skorne went first, the Karax shield walled and advanced with an enormous speed boost from a spell. Turn two and Makeda popped her feat, which would return any dead Karax unless the unit was wiped out. Entire Khador army unloaded on the Karax, the Man-Wars all charged, literally only just killing them. Molik charged, killing the Demo Corp and most of the Shock Troopers, whilst the Kodiak and the Titan Gladiator crippled each other. The Shocktroopers wailed on Molik for a turn, until there was one left, who moved out of the combat dying to a free strike, allowing Irusk to shoot the last points of Molik. The Kodiak finally died to the Titan, who was then pummeled by the Mortar and finished by the Widowmakers.

Final phase of the game was Makeda vs EIrusk, the Mortar and the Widowmakers. Charging through the Artifice of Deviation, she killed a pair of the Widowmakers who promptly passed their Tough rolls. Irusk, for the first turn of the whole game, didn't upkeep Fire-for-Effect and charged, burning focus for extra attacks and boosting attack and damage rolls, killing Makeda.

Overview: Did well enough, prioritised appropriately.

Unit Overview:
  • eIrusk: Actually got kills for the first time ever, doing in a character Warbeast and the enemy caster, should utilize him more in the future (Warbeast was a boosted shot, Maketa was stabbed repeatedly).
  • Mortar: Gold, Fire-For-Effect allowed it to ping the Karax and messed up the Titan a bit.
  • Widowmakers:Should not be fired into combat. Didn't achieve much, but didn't fail either.
  • Man-O-Wars:Demo Corp with Battle Lust evil on the charge. Shocktroopers sacrificed themselves for the greater good as they should.
  • Kodiak:Misused, could have achieved a little more, but ultimately not a huge problem.
Performance: 7/10. Need to look up some basic rules I was unsure on, should have made sure opponent understood that the Kodiak had a boosted defence of 12.

Game 7 - Win - eIrusk vs eKreoss

Result:Win
 4-3-0

eIrusk vs eKreoss [Tier 2 List] (Protectorate of Menoth)

eIrusk - Kodiak, MoW Shocktroopers (5), Widowmakers, MoW Demolition Corp (3), WG Mortar
eKreoss - Revenger, Exemplar Bastions, Exemplar Cinerators, 2x Knights Exemplars

Game: Deployed Widowmakers out the front with Advanced Deploy for a change. Knights Exemplar had Advance Move from the Tier list, and ran forward again on the first turn, with the rest of the Menites running as fast as they could behind, Kreoss holding back while the Revenger ran up ready to channel spells. The Mortar and the Widowmakers wiped out a Knight Exemplar unit, Irusk holding up the other one with Artifice of Deviation. Next turn the Revenger blasted the Shocktroopers for little damage, in reply they charged the stranded remaining unit of Knights Exemplar and put them down, whilst the mortar got a maximum damage roll on the Revenger, allowing the Widowmakers to ping its last Arc Node point off.
At this point the Bastions engaged the Shocktroopers whilst the Cinerators got held up by Artifice. The Kodiak spent a two turn running in and killing the Revenger, whilst Irusk popped his feet, allowing the Shocktroopers to lay damage on the Bastions, who moved it around. The Demo Corp put down the Cinerators. The Bastions retaliated with Kreoss' feat, killing all but one of the Shocktroopers.
In the after-feat turns, the Kodiak and Mortar finished off the Bastions.
Kreoss backpedaled. The Kodiak was Energized forward and was just in charge range, doing just enough to kill Kreoss after he was hit by the Widowmakers.

Overview: Good game, Artifice and the Snipers finally faced an enemy lacking stealth and pathfinder and proved to be brutal. Happy with every play, wouldn't change a thing.

Unit Overview:

  • eIrusk: Artifice was solid gold, blocking unit after unit. Fire-for-Effect was horrific.
  • Mortar: Unit of the match, killed Exemplars, Bastions, half the Revenger and even pinged Kreoss for a few.
  • Widowmakers: Finally had valid targets, brutal on the Knights and perfect to ping the Revenger's Arc Node.
  • Man-O-Wars: Performed adequately in their normal roles.
  • Kodiak: Got the caster kill, but was more important in holding up the Revenger from getting near Irusk and killing the Bastions.
Performance: 10/10. No mistakes, even with hindsight happy with every move and placement.

Game 6 - Loss - eIrusk vs Bethayne

Result:Loss
3-3-0

eIrusk vs Bethayne (Legion of Everblight)

eIrusk - Kodiak, MoW Shocktroopers (5), Widowmakers, MoW Demolition Corp (3), WG Mortar
Bethayne - Belphagor, Scythean, Seraph, Hex Hunters + Bayal, Shredder

Game: Standard eIrusk deployment. Opposite Kodiak was Seraph and Sycthean, other flank had spread out Hex Hunters, rest of Legion in the centre. Everything Legion advanced, turn after Bethayne feats and Hex Hunters charged, messing up the Shocktroopers and killing the Mortar. War of attrition developed, with the Man-O-Wars slowly dying to the Hex Hunters. Widows died to Seraph bouncing shots, Irusk fell back with the Mortar spotter, killing the Hex Hunters with Airburst, the Kodiak and the lone Shocktrooper killed the Scythean, the Kodiak then moved on and killed Belphagor.. The Seraph bounced shots off the Mortar Spotter into Irusk, stripping most of his health, then Bethayne advanced and just managed to kill Irusk with a two spell castings.

Overview: Did OK, forget Seraph bouncing which led to Irusk's death. In hindsight should have run the Kodiak to cover the flank with the Hex Hunters and placed the Mortar in the centre of the line.

Unit Overview:
  • eIrusk: A vicious reminder to not expect Tough to go off, not nearly as successful with it this game. Airburst should have been utilized early, Artifice of Deviation again not so useful due to Pathfinder on the necessary units (Hex Hunters). Feat was useful in deenying charges for a turn.
  • Man-O-Wars: Just couldn't hit the Hex Hunters. Shocktroopers should have siphoned to one side until the Kodiak could Vent Steam the Hunters away, the Demo Corp should have advanced up the Left a little to threaten units.
  • Widowmakers: Did some damage to the Scythean, again the infantry had Stealth. Good unit in theory, but in the local meta just don't seem to have the opportunity to swing their weight. 4 Points to be spent elsewhere.
  • Mortar: Got one shot, which messed up the Scythean. Could have done a lot more if protected appropriately.
  • Kodiak: Did okay, but with the focus overload it needed to kill the Warbeasts could be replaced by any Melee centric Warjack.
Performance: 3/10. Did some decent moves with eIrusk Spells, but needed to react quickly and alter deployment. Sharp reminder to learn opposing armies abilities.

Game 5 - Win - eIrusk vs eKaya

Result: Win
3-2-0

eIrusk vs eKaya

eIrusk - Kodiak, MoW Shocktroopers (5), Widowmakers, MoW Demolition Corp (3), WG Mortar
eKaya - Laris, Gorax, Shadowhorn Satyr, Scarsfell Griffon, Warpwolf, Shifting Stone + UA: Stone Keeper

Game: Normal eIrusk set up (Everyone cowering behind the MoW Shocktroopers), Circle set up in a string line and went first. The Circle tried to maneuver around, whilst the Mortar took pot shots and eIrusk cowered in the midst of the Widowmakers (Who had nothing else to do). The Warpwolf charged alone, and was duly put down by the Shocktroopers. The Shadowhorn Satyr charged in, successfully throwing the Kodiak on top of eIrusk. eIrusk feated to automatically get up and get away, the Satyr was then put down by the Demo Corp and Kodiak. Eventually Kaya, the Griffin and Laris tried an assassination run, but the monsters got stuck on the Demo Corp and Kaya couldn't hurt Irusk. Irusk fled into the middle of the Shocktroopers, whilst the Kodiak killed the beasts then Kaya.

Overview: Cautious play won out, the Circle didn't seem to capitalise on their speed as well as they could have.

Unit Overview:
  •  eIrusk: Not a single direct kill, but the passive abilities and Battle Lust were brilliant. Feat timing wasn't anything special, but at least wasn't wasted this game.
  • Man-O-War Shocktroopers: Rocked the house again, Battle Lust allowing them to slay a Heavy Warbeast, then they Shield Walled eIrusk.
  • Widowmakers: Again subpar, entire enemy list had easy access to Stealth. They ended up surrounding eIrusk as impromptu meatshields. Contemplating solo's or Ternions at this rate.
  • Mortar: Lacked optimal targets, but managed some heavy hits on the Warbeasts.
  • Man-O-War Demo Corp: Must remember to declare a special attack before starting to roll dice. Otherwise had a good first outing, Battle Lust with their bonus attacks was devestating.
Performance: 6/10. Probably over conservative, but won out.

Game 4 - Loss - eIrusk vs eeVlad

Result: Loss
2-2-0

eIrusk vs eeVlad

eIrusk - Kodiak, MoW Shocktroopers, Widowmakers, Doomreavers, WG Mortar
eeVlad - Drago, two units of Uhlans, Mounted Drakun, Merc Cav Solo

Game: eIrusk and co walled up between two terrain pieces. The Horse units and the slower Drago charged the Man-O-War front line, joined quickly by the Kodiak. The Widowmakers did some light pings, the Mortar for the most part missed tragically. The Drakun circled around, but was slowed by eIrusk casting Artifice, then killed by the widowmakers. eeVlad came after the Drakun, the Doomreavers charged and failed to hit him, he killed them and got to eIrusk, easily cutting him down.

Overview: Multiple errors, the greatest being not popping eIrusk's feat to stop Vlad charging him.

Unit Overview:
  • Man-O-War Shocktroopers: Awesome. Stopped the full Cavalry charge with only a single casualty the whole game.
  • Widowmakers: Terrible list to verse, every model with high armour and a minimum of 5 damage boxes, so couldn't even pop a model a turn. Think they'll do better against nearly anyone else.
  • Mortar: Bleh performance, but combining it with eIrusk spell is to amusing to drop it
  • Doom Reavers: Should have realised how their killing fields work (They only attack others on kills). Should have rushed the back couple closer to Vlad and gone all out.
  • eIrusk: Much more interesting to play than Karchev.
Performance: 3/10. Set up was excellent, but misplayed the Doom Reavers and missing the feat was just silly.

Amusing note: Kodiak killed Drago with a single health box remaining (Cortex)

Game 3 - Win - Karchev vs eKaya

Result: Win
2-1-0

Karchev vs eKaya

Karchev: Same list as previous two games.
Circle: eKaya, Laris, two beast, some cavalry, some Stealth skirmishers

Game: Learning from the first game, Karchev just moved the Bombards around, killing the Cavalry early. The Manhunter drew off the skirmishers to begin with, then promptly ran for it, looping half the board by the end. The skirmisher;s tried to hold up the Jacks, the Kodiaks Vent Steam dealt with that. The Beasts used teleports to run in and retreat, but eventually they stuck around long enough for the Jacks to stomp them in melee. The caster and the war dog were alone, so tried an assassination on Karchev, who absorbed it with ease then cut her down.

Overview: Easy best game so far, was long and drawn out, but was a strategic thinking match.

Notable unit: Manhunter. Got no kills, but pulled the skirmishers into no where and managed to live.

Performance: 8/10. No mistakes, could have power slided for a much earlier win if I had been willing to sacrifice units, but went for the slow win instead.

Game 2 - Win - Karchev vs eMorghoul?

Karchev vs Skorne
Win
1-1-0

Karchev: Same list as previously
eMorghoul?: 2 Warbeasts, weird support infantry, pair of Gobber Mercs

Game: Successful powerslide, his caster got to Karchev by could barely hurt him. Karchev hit back and pasted him.

Thoughts: Fairly sure the other bloke was trying something he wouldnt bother with against an experienced opponent, good to see the powerslide work though.

Performance: 5/10. Did Karchev's big well known trick.

Game 1 - Loss - Karchev vs pSorcha

Result: Loss
0-1-0

Karchev vs pSorcha

Karchev - 2 Destroyers, Kodiak, Battle Mechaniks, Manhunter
pSorcha - Beast 09, Juggernaught, Iron Fangs, Iron Fang Officer + Standard, Great Bears

Overview: Face off between the bulk of both armies at deployment, with Great Bears on the outflank and the Manhunter hiding in a forest on the opposing flank. Opening turns he advanced and shield walled the Iron Fangs. I cast Tow and advanced, removing a few Iron Fangs. The Great Bears advanced on the side, whilst the Iron Fang officer used her special extra advance + shield wall order. The Manhunter charged in, killing some Iron fangs, who killed him in retalition. Attempted a Karchev powerslide, but messed up the movement, so ended up killing the Iron Fangs and two of the Great Bears, but Sorcha popped her feat and Beast 09 got to Karchev and killed him in short order.

Overall: Complete misplay. I had bombards and he had no range weapons, I should have used tow and the arcantrik turbine for movement to shoot with the Destroyers then fall back and shoot some more, swing around to take out the Great Bears after dealing with the Iron Fangs. The Manhunter should have fallen back and hidden behind the forest as a distraction.

Performance: 2/10. Showed the true depths of noobishness, but learnt a lot. Nothing like a brutal lesson to drive a point home.
